Hi ollie, Trucks hmmmmm? There are some beauties on the road these days. There are. We have an 85 Pete. My step-son wants to get into doing the new vinal covering that will eventually take the lace of paint. You have probably seen local delivery vans and company cars that have it in them? I want the globe as seen from space stretched across the hood and cab, with the might sky as the background across the sleeper. Superimposed over the night sky, I want to show Yeshua watching over the world. Bet that would be one of a kind!

Thanks, that's better. agreed! Perhaps that should be reworded, so that we are both of one mind: "It has nothing to do with OUR preservance, but has everything to do with HIS GRACE". However, salvation -- the gift of eternal life -- is NOT a matter of "perserverance" but it is purely A GIFT of God's grace. And that was my point.

Theology / Bible Study / Re:Parable of the Prodigal Son

Hello,
Luke 15:11-32 11 And he said, A certain man had two sons: The father is God. The younger son is the one we know as the mediocre Christian. The older son is the one we know as the very faithful Chirstian.
12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living. Inheritance - that portion that will be left to this son (in this case "Give to me my share of wisdom and truth")
13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. Gathered - led himself, without advice from God Far Country - distanced way of existance Wasted - sowed no seed for future use Riotous living - overindulgent in a life of pleasures
14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want. Famine - a very scarce spiritually sound harvest of souls Want - a failure, spiritual death producing natural death
15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. Joined citizens - embrace a carnal society Fathers Field - The harvest field in the far country belongs to the adversary. The harvest field at the Father's house belongs to the Father. Both fields are seeded with souls. Swine - contemptable and disgusting people Swine Fields - spiritual pig sty No man gives him anything - the spiritually blind and deaf can not lead those who are beginning to see.
16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him. Eating husks - mentally digesting the spiritual food of the lower class Doing so together with "swine" implies learning from people who will put all manner of wickedness in their mouths, together with righteousness. Husks - the natural grain of sustanence for the lower class Swine - contemptable and disgusting people
17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! Hired servants - unwilling to serve except for financial gain Hunger - starve for fellowship of spiritually sound souls Bread - knowledge and understanding, wisdom and truth
18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, Sinned against heaven - ignored and rebelled against God Sinned against the Father - broken the father's heart, and made the father ashamed of the son's behavior
19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants. Not worthy to be called son - not worthy to bear your name
20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. Arose and came to father - awake from spiritual sleep and prepare self and bring self back under the influence of the Father Great way off - still mentally distancing himself from the Father Compassion - moved with sympathy for the sufferings of another Fell on neck - reclaim ownership, take possession Kisses - show mercy, show tender love and forgiveness
21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son. Sinned against heaven - ignored and rebelled against God Sinned against the Father - broken the father's heart, and made the father ashamed of the son's behavior Not worthy to be called son - not worthy to bear your name
22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: Servants - not only willing, but also desiring, slave Best Robe - anointed with wisdom and undertsanding, council, spirit of knowledge, and reverence for God Ring - signet, seal, mark of the father Shoes - new walk, fresh new life
23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: Fatted Calf - One who is well fed of wisdom and truth, but has mentally digested it very poorly. Merriness - joyful celebration, delight
24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry. Dead - spiritually destitute Alive Again - recovered from a dead and dying ife Lost - destroyed, eternally miserable Found - has abased himself for the purpose of self examination, so that he might perceive and lament any moral guilt he might find within himself Merriness - delighted, joyful
25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing. Fathers Field - The harvest field in the far country belongs to the adversary. The harvest field at the Father's house belongs to the Father. Both fields are seeded with souls. Music and Dancing - celebration
26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant. Servants - not only willing, but also desiring, slave
27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound. Come safe and sound - seeking intimacy with the Father while no longer in error
28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him. Older Sons anger - jealousy
29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends: Transgress Commandments - neglect responsibilities Kid - a young goat, (goats will eat anything, the same way a pig will eat anything) Merriness - delighted joyful
30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf. Harlots - confusion, varience of doctrines, blasphemers
31And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine. Ever with me - has been there all the time, has never died spiritually, has never abased himself in any manner
32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found. Merriness - delighted, joyful dead - spiritually destitute Alive Again - recovered from a dead and dying ife Lost - destroyed, eternally miserable Found - has abased himself for the purpose of self examination, so that he might perceive and lament any moral guilt he might find within himself
Yours in Christ,

Hello Sower, Everything else that you have said here is right on the mark. But I must disagree that "It has nothing to do with our "perseverance" or "endurance" or any such thing." It has EVERYTHING to do with our perseverance and endurance. Because without his having given to us the grace to persevere and endure, we would have been unable to so.
In Christ,

Hello Tonytony,
The verses need to be posted along with the comments to help the new believer know why we make the comments.
(just real sheep on a mission for real bible believer unity.) That is who I am.
(can you take on these verses ?)
(1 timothy 2:9-12) 1ti 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
Women are to adorn themselves in like manner as the men. They are making themselves ready to receive salvation anointing. They are to adorn themselves with prayer, with lifted up holy hands, with love that is void of wrath and doubting. Like men, women are to adorn themselves with shame for having done past sin, and with modesty, and with sober thinking and speaking and doing.
1ti 2:10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. These are the things (listed above) that make women beautiful in the eyes of God and men. And costly outer array has nothing to do with real beauty. But costly inner array is unrepented sin, which must be cast away.
1ti 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. To increase ones knowledge in silence merely means be continually learning quietly. It means that the woman should not ever be meddling in other people's business, especially in public. And to be with all subjection means to be obedient in the Lord. The godly woman is to be obedient to her husband, especially in public. (They can discuss why she thought he was in error in private.) She is not to give others amunition for gossip about herself and her husband. (Gossip causes others to sin against those gossiped about.)
1ti 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
We must remember that the scriptures were written when the Church was still new. It was only about the second or third generation of he Church. The leaders knew what they were talking about. But the men of the body were barely getting to the pint of being truly separate from the world. The men had learned more than the women, who were learning, but in most cases much more slowly than the men. NOBODY is to go forth to teach while still a novice, so the women could not yet teach.
(Mr 16:16) Mr 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
A man can be baptized in water and be just as lost as he was before. To be saved the man must frist be baptized in the full understanding of sin and it's cause and effects until he repents all sin. That baptism opens the doorway between himself and Yeshua. But he has only repented sin and must now receive a second baptism. The man whose mind and heart are baptized in the thoughts of Yeshua's mind, and believes those things shall be saved. All men who have not gone through this process are damned already by their own hand.
romans 6:1 Ro 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
Grace has already abounded to those of us who have received the baptism unto salvation. If we continue to sin, grace cannot abound to others through us, and we would have condemned the inhabitants of the earth to hell everlasting.
do you believe matthew 15:14 even if you have to leave a ministry? Mt 15:14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. YES! When you discover that your preacher has been decieving you because he has been decieved himself, leave him alone if he will not repent.
feel driven to fulfill 1 cor. 6; YES! The whole chapter speaks of purifying the church body, cleansing sin out from among themselves.
amos 3:3 Am 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed? Christians must come to agreement in Christ, which means that they are going to have to overcome all religious doctrines that they were born to, and be born again of the truth.
and 2 timothy 3:16? 2ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness
Yes! And every person has to digest the strong meat of the word.
otherwise Jesus is talking to you in john 8:44. Joh 8:43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. Joh 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. Joh 8:45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.
The so-called Christian who chooses to do otherwise is of his father the devil, and the truth is not in him.
In Christ,

The text has obvious lessons; the most apparent being the consequences of lying to the Holy Spirit. It also teaches us, more covertly, that there is a Godly way of managing assets. However, I have another question: Do these passages also point to socialism (or even communism in its purest form) as being a proper way to live our lives? May be that we should first learn the lesson of being of one mind. :)

Air Force brat huh? Oh well. I'm an oil field brat myself. But Danny is a trucking brat, and believe me, they are THE worst. I think they spared the rod and spoiled the child. Regular hours won't take much getting used to. I know it sure is gonna beat sitting in the truck waiting to be told you have a load.

Thanks for the welcome. It has to be real love to be married and living in a truck 24 hours a day. There is no place to hide in the tough and angry times. But no, it will not be lonesome. We went from long haul to local. Where we were out for as much as 6 weeks before coming home, now Danny can make a round trip in one day. That means he will sleep in a real bed every day, and I do mean daytime. We will be living in Shreveport.
