Theology / Debate / Re: How was Paul saved ???

Hi friends
Lets return to the thrust of this thread, the saving gospel of Jesus. Jesus, the Christ said "Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature, he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved--------" Paul states the gospel he preached came not by man but rather by the revelation of Jesus Christ ( Gal.1:12 ). He said the Gospel he preached which he received from Jesus was "certified" ( Gal.1:11 ). He said said there was not another gospel and if any said there was it was "perverted" ( Gal. 1:7-9 ). I shall take my stand with the "certified" gospel and urge you to do the same.
God bless duval

Theology / Debate / Re: Why do we have to confess sins ??

Hello Friends
Please consider that by our obedience to the gospel (Acts 2:36-42 for an example) our past sins are all forgive. We willat times continue to sin. Please note that Colosians as noted by Dan P was written approx. 62 ad but I John was written much latter than that, about the close of the 1st. century. Thus it is not only factural but scriptiural to say that I Jn. DOES apply today. Dan P quoted I Jn.1:7. Its very context says we sin ( vs.8-10) And if we say we have NO sin we not only deceive ourselves but call Him ( God ) a liar. Folks its dangerous, dangerous to call Him a liar.
God bless duval

Hi all
True, we are all saved by grace, Eph.2:8,9. Now, the question is how are we saved by grace?

Hi Dan P
We can conclude then that no scripture teaches sins are washed in Holy Spirit bapism, Right?
Now, may I ask, does the scripture teach sins are washed when "filled" with the Holy Spirit?

Theology / Debate / Re: What is the name of this Church ?

Hi Dan P
I do not understand it to mean there is more than one gospel that is certified. Names are important and they mean something and so with the church from above. Most names in the NT for the church will break down into the name of Christ which is the name above all. Most frequently the word (in our English) used is "church" and Jesus said He would build His.

Hi
Eph.6:1-4 are clear examples that our biological fathers may be called "father".
