I agree.  If we allow Father God to take the steering wheel of life for us, we'll always stay on the right course.

AMAZING OLLIE!! I was just thinking that as I clicked onto the url in my email!!
But, I often wonder why atheists do join christian forums.  Sometimes I think they may just be lonely lost souls trying to find God, as, there are atheist forums too I believe??
Of course there may be the odd ones who want to try to stir up trouble, but, it does make me wonder...

66  Prayer / General Discussion / Re:"NO MORE TITHING" on: October 10, 2003, 02:04:44 AM
AMEN!  We have so many needy people in the world today.  And, many of them live quite close to us!  By allowing Father God to have control, we have no problem as to how to tithe.
He promps, and we see the need and do the deed.
That's just my view for what it's worth.

True Heidi,
But I have seen the Mormon church, the 7th Day Adventist church, the catholic church and many other churches grow fat and rich on people's hard earned money. In today's world...what are we tithing for?  It's the churches and a few others like Benny Hinn etc; which turned me off tithing.
Hoarding up their dollar sign like a god.

I rather think Matthew 24:24 could apply to today with all the false prophets around, don't you?
It amazes me how they just seem to throw it through the T.V. screen!

Thanks Symphony!

That's why we refuse to have them in our town!  We have children living here.  These children are protected in my Australian outback town by the people in the town.
We have a policeman.  And what goes on in other town's we know about.  They have police too.  And, sodomy is a thing we won't tolerate.
I know Australian's are shocked by the Sydney Gay Festival. But, many police are in it now.
Not here...that's why we keep clear of city people.  If they buy a holoday house here, they are constantly watched, not only by the policeman, but by the people.
We have Neighbourhood Watch in Australia.  And, where I live, we abide by it.  We watch out for each other.
And, the children are precious.
In time, they have to go to the cities to work.  But, their tuition here about homosexuals is intense.  They are taught to stay clear of all strangers in the city.  And, they stick with other kids from the country.
It's a tough life today!  Education isn't just reading, writing and arithmatic anymore!

70  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re:Do You Believe What Paul Told Women To Do? on: October 08, 2003, 11:28:47 PM
True Symphony,  and I fear for Paul's letters.  I feel within myself that since the women's liberation movement, women will try to have many of Paul's words for women taken out of the Bible just as they are trying to have the words about homosexuals taken out.
If women lose these words, what do we expect?
Some women love authority.  When Paul told us to submit, he didn't mean for us to be slaves and to act stupid about it.  He mean't for us to look upon our husband's as head of the house and to act sensible in that respect.
A woman was mean't to walk by her husband's side in all matters.
She was mean't to lean on her husband.  To discuss things with her husband, and to love her husband.  To create a happy loving home for him to come home to.  Nice home cooking and a nice warm fire when it's cold.
This type of living creates harmony.  And, Paul told us to be equally yoked.  Harmony creates the equal yoking together of a man and his wife.

I pray that young ones will allow Father God to be in control of their lives and allow HIM to choose their life long mate.  That way, they would be less divorce!

Love...Tamara.

Hi Whitehorse,
There is nothing more beautiful than love in a home.  I pray for your wife's safe return to your arms which I know will be waiting for her.  Your love for her is beautiful.  And, as you are still in touch, I pray you will be together as a lovely husband and wife.  Living in harmony with Father God. And, I pray your business ventures will be successful, and lovely.

God Bless you, and your wife.

It's simply a fact that men and women were created differently. We live in a society where the gifts of women are seen as inferior to the gifts of men. This has resulted in women competing with men for men's roles. This is so sad. Men's bodies are simply stronger than women's. I am not offended by that. I, as a woman, have my own gifts. I believe the intellectual capacities are similar in both men and woman. I personally feel that a woman who doesn't have to prove her intellectual capacities but instead, stands back and allows her husband to shine is showing him real love. That takes strength and humility which I think Paul is talking about. One wonders whether Bill Clinton would have been faithful to Hillary had she shown him this kind of love instead of seeking the limelight.

Heidi....DITTO!
