16  Theology / General Theology / Re:Ephesians 5:15-17 on: November 11, 2003, 05:24:43 PM
I heard J. V.Magee on the radio speak on these very verses.
It was a good message. His main point was being filled with the spirit daily.

Neat how the Lord works!
Jesus said" I am the way ,the truth, and the Life."

If we really know him , and are abiding in him as we should be according to John 14.

John 14 v26 he shall teach you ALL things (Holy Ghost)

John 15 v15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for servants knoweth not what his Lord doeth:but I have called you friends; for ALL things that I have heard of my father I have made known unto you.

Its our  relationship with God through the Holy Spirit that gives us the proper understanding of ALL things.

If we are wrong in our understanding of the scriptures, I would say , Go to the source, and make sure our RELATIONSHIP with the LORD is proper ,and that we are abiding in Him. If we are we shall be led into ALL TRUTH, thats His promise.

But we must read the scriptures in their proper context, this is where many get misled. If we misunderstand the truth, be sure it will affect our abiding in Christ. So then we must go back to the source of our strength, which is the grace of God.
And allow Him to teach us rather than the explaination of men about the scriptures.

So many books on the Bible. but why not read the Bible and let the author that is with you open it up to you?

I dont have al the answers , but I know someone that does. And He is able to do more than we can ask.We often are not ready to understand many things, but that should not stop us from learning.

We can learn in 1hr through the Holy Spirit and the reading of the Bible, more than 1 year of seminary! Not to discredit seminaries, but it must be the Holy Spirits teaching, or it's just vainity, knowledge that will vanish away. But learning from the Spirit of truth is real growth, that will endure.
So I see that our understanding of the Lords will is as we have learned from Him, He alone can make us wise.
Because He is WISDOM.

This is an awesome subject, I must ask Him more! Grin Grin Grin
18  Theology / General Theology / Ephesians 5:15-17 on: November 08, 2003, 06:22:36 PM
Eph 5 v17"Wherefore be not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is."

I have a question, just how much of the will of the Lord can we know, and how much are we accountable to knowing?
We all have different levels of understanding, but we are told to be wise knowing the will of the Lord.
I think that if we study the word, and are led by the spirit, that we should know the will of the Lord as we need to know it.But it's not always so easy.Any thoughts on this?
19  Theology / General Theology / Re:Saved by GRACE, NOT Faith on: November 08, 2003, 05:45:13 PM
I would state that its the word of God that gives any man sight or warning to the inpending danger, therefore the man realizes that there is nothing He can do, He can try to ignore the danger , or procastenate, or deal with it in his own way, but if He understands the word correctly then he realizes that he is at God's mercy.Further study of the Gospel will set anyone free,if we understand it and if we receive it through faith.it's all the work of God, through the word and the spirit gives us the understanding of it. Smiley

The enterence of God's word gives light. And converts the soul.

Im sure that alot more could be said,on this Great subject. Smiley
20  Theology / General Theology / Re:Saved by GRACE, NOT Faith on: November 07, 2003, 02:39:44 PM
Grace is a life boat that saves a drowning man.
By faith the man gets in the boat and lives.
The man will say the boat saved my life. Smiley
21  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re:Rapture........ on: November 04, 2003, 02:05:20 AM
the last week is in Daniel 9 v27  this is when Jesus showed Himself alive to his followers after his resurrection.

read the context of Daniel 9: 24-27

Its talking about the death of Christ and his work on earth that he has already done.

It speaks of destruction that already happened in 70 ad.

To apply this to the future is a gross misunderstanding of the scriptures.
22  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re:Rapture........ on: November 04, 2003, 01:43:19 AM
The fulness of the gentiles is when the Lord comes back the second time.
Read Zechariah 12, 13, 14

zechariah 12 v10  And I will pour upon the house of david ,and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace , and of supplications : AND THEY SHALL LOOK UPON ME WHOM THEY HAVE PIERCED, AND THEY SHALL MOURN FOR HIM,

This clearly is after the Lord has Come. Read the context of the chapter of this book.
23  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re:Rapture........ on: November 04, 2003, 01:27:06 AM

I believe that Isreal will see the One that they pierced when the fulness of the Gentiles is come in , as  Paul2 mentioned, but that is the second coming when every eye shall see Him. There is no secert rapture. as pretribbers think.
Quote
Musicllover hello! I do not believe anything can divide the 1 body of Christ, and that all that believe in Christ are in the 1 body.pre or post trib = 1body.
But many pre tribbers believe that at the pretrib rapture the body of Christ is complete. And those saved in the  trib are not of the church which is the 1 body. But then if that were true then another gospel would be needed, and that is not possible. Some think that the old covenant will be reinstated and Jews will get saved too, this is not possible either.
Only 1 Gospel for ever , only 1 way Jesus for Jew first and Gentile.
I dont know what you believe ,but this argument puts a rather large hole in Pre trib rapture theory.
God Bless !!!

The answer to this is found in Romans 11.

Romans 11: 25: For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in.
26: And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
27: For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
28: As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.

Israel will not see clearly until the FULNESS or completeness of the gentiles be come in. Come into what? the Church making it full and complete. Old testament Saints are not part of the Church, they were before the Church began, Tribulation Saints are not part of the Church, the Church was complete and full of all the gentiles that would be part of it at the Rapture. Tribulation Saints won't believe until after the Rapture. The Church believes without having to "see" to believe, the Tribulation Saints won't believe until they see it with their own eyes, what will they see to convince them? The Rapture of the Church is the event that will convince them but its to late at that point to be part of the Church, which will be in heaven during daniel's 70th week.

After God made man He rested, then He made Eve and we have not had any peace since.

After God made man, God said , I can do better than that , and then  He made eve.

I heard a true one tonight, but I wont tell you the names because you will know them ,and it could be embarrassing.

A certain football coach asked a player to pray for the team, the player didnt know what to pray, the coach said just pray, so He proceeded  "our father in heaven as I lay me down to sleep I pray my soul for thy to keep....

Thanks Tamara , I really appreciate the fact that God gave us His Chosen One, Jesus, for us. God gave us (the world) His very best the Lamb of God , God did not withhold , this proves the Genuine Love God has for us all." this is my beloved son in whom Iam well pleased"  God tested Abraham in requesting Issac be offered, only to show the world that God is more than able to the test. We cannot test God so God showed us more than we could test God with. Yes God so loved the world ,thats you and me , that He GAVE....
29  Theology / General Theology / Re:SPEAKING IN TONGUES on: October 24, 2003, 08:07:04 PM
One of the things about speaking in tongues is how do you know what is being said with out an interpreter? You dont.
Ive heard many people speak in tongues at churches, and the only interpretations Ive heard came from women, and I must wonder? Women are not permitted to speak in churches. These days in most churches that truth is  unheld to.
So will God go against His order in the Churches, and use women to interpret tongues ,and preach for that matter? NO.

There are churches were  women remain in silence today, but that is not the way of modern Churches, because the world is influencing the churches more than the Bible.

Ive learned to except that most churches allow women to speak and I except it as the days that we live in , I dont condemn it, but neither do I like it.

I believe that God does use women, if no men are available, even If  men are present it does not mean that they are available for God. Men often have given over their responcibity to women , therefore God can use them, but its not the Divine order given for the churches. And the way God uses them is not particularly the way the women think they are being used.
God's word is still being spoken and can be used even if its out of context. Ive heard people that are not even Christian speak the word of God and God used it, but they knew nothing of it.

Hello ambassador4christ! I have a question ??
I agree that many of the gifts were signs for the Jews , and are no longer for today, but Im not sure I agree with your statement that says the N.T. is that which is perfect, In 1 cor 13.
Where is your scripture to prove that the N.T. is that which is perfect is come ? Thanks!
