Theology / Apologetics / Is Jesus God? - Part One
|
on: January 12, 2004, 02:57:08 PM
|
I beleive Jesus is the son of God,not God himself.
John 7:16 "Jesus answered them and said, 'My doctrine is not mine, but His who sent me.' "
John 14:24 "He who does not love me does not keep my words; and the word which you hear is not mine but The Father's who sent me."
John 12:49 "For I have not spoken on my own authority; but the Father who sent me gave me a command, what I should say and what I should speak."

Matthew 10:23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.

Matthew 16:28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
Who was standing there?Who has not yet tasted death?

Jeremiah 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; (1)After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
(1)-What does after those days mean? After the new covenant? If so how does verse 34 comply?
Jeremiah 31:34 And (2)they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
(2)-Who are they? The house of Israel?

Ambassador4ChristSince we can't do anything to be saved, how can we be expected to do anything to stay saved? The scriptures teach that we are secure in Christ and that nothing, not even our own unbelief, can separate us from the love of God once we have trusted in Christ's sacrifice for our sin. (Rom 8:33-39; Phil 1:6; 2 Tim 2:11-13)
Hrmm, i always thought we must beleive, and confess before men.The way iam reading you, is you can do want ever you want and your still saved? So i assume you think everybody is going to heaven?

Thank you Petro.I would like to discuss the New Covenant.Did the New Covenant Start at the last supper? Also i would like to look at the name of Jesus as spoke of in Philippians 2:9-11
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth;11 And [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
After reading that can we conclude that the name of Jesus is authority, powerful?
jabez, I'll have to look at the passage, later. But the exaltation came when God raised Him from the grave and showed Him openly. Blessings, Petro Petro what did you think?Did you have a chance to look yet?
