1  Prayer / Prayer Requests / Re: Prayer request for an ex friend of mine, Please? on: June 09, 2009, 03:32:43 PM
Hi Adam, yes I'll pray for your ex-friend.

I will tell you this much though, as time goes on more and more Christians will be hated. There will be many many different reasons and it will change from person to person what the reason is. For some its probably due to having bad experiences with Christians, others will not like them because of their own religious beliefs.

And yet, Christians should be the happiest people on earth.................. we have God on our side.

THank you. And I know that for sure, in the case of my ex friend, his reason is BOTH of those things.  I and others have tried to tell him not every christian is the same ( or in his dad's case, some that claim they are christians aren't ), but he refuses to listen.
2  Entertainment / Movies / Re: The Phantom of the Opera on: June 08, 2009, 07:31:24 PM
I know I'm digging up an old thread here, but I just had to post in this one.  I'm a big fan of Phantom of the Opera. I've seen the play numerous times, own the dvd of the movie, and the soundtrack. ( stage and movie versions ). On the whole I thought the movie was good. There are a few points I would have done differently/ some things I would have added/ subtracted, but on the whole it was good.  As usual, Andrew's music was incredible.
3  Fellowship / Testimonies / several instances in my life.. on: June 08, 2009, 06:38:56 PM
Well, its hard for me to type it out as a coherant story ( detail by detail ) so I'll have to just focus on the 4 events in my life that let me know I'm saved.

1. Birth... I was born with 1 failed kidney and 1 barely functioning one. Add to that I had 5 holes in my heart that had to be surgically repaired when I was an infant ( thankfully I can't remember any of that )

2. Kidney Transplant at age 7......... I don't think I need to elaborate, it should be easy to see how that is a saving moment. ( I'm currently 26 so I've been funtioning with one kidney for 19 years.. if that isn't a miracle I dont' know what it can be! )
3.  Another close call. When I was younger I had a bad biopsy of my kidney and probably could have died from massive blood loss.
4.  THe most resent. I was in the hospital with Colitis last year for a week.  After only four days the doctors were afraid it was going to kill me.  It would have been slow and very painful. However, My family and I prayed for God's deliverance, and he saved me from what could have been a horrible death.
4  Welcome / About You! / Greetings on: June 08, 2009, 06:28:51 PM
I'm new here so I'll just start with the standard details. Smiley  My name is Adam. I'm currently in college and have a part time job.  My career goal ultimately is to be a composer.. specifically for broadway.
5  Prayer / Prayer Requests / Prayer request for an ex friend of mine, Please? on: June 08, 2009, 06:24:53 PM
An ex friend of mine  and I had a falling out after 3 years.  It's too detailed to get into the whole story but the root of the problem was he didn't respect me enough to not go one day without bashing christians and christianity. I never once bashed him for his choice of religion, as you can see there is a problem here if he couldn't return the respect.  Anyway, he is a wiccan. ( Why I became friends with him is a long story, I'll share if asked but its too much to go into now ).  He's only 23 so God willing, he's got time to change ( though non of us are sure how much we are given).  He doesn't respect authority, thinks God and Jesus are a joke, doesn't believe in heaven or hell, thinks christians should be killed.  I can only pray that he can change before its too late.  Can you help me pray for him?
