16  Entertainment / Poetry/Prose / IN HIM I LIVE on: June 26, 2007, 12:39:45 AM
IN HIM I LIVE

IN YOU OR LORD I LIVE AND MOVE,
AND HAVE MY BEING TOO.
I FOUND THE MEANING TO MY LIFE,
THE DAY I HEARD OF YOU.
THE LORD AND KING YOU ARE TO ME,
THE ONE WHO HEALS MY SOUL.
I PLEDGE TO SEEK YOU ALL MY DAYS,
FOR YOU HAVE MADE ME WHOLE.
WITHIN MY HEART I DO BELIEVE,
THAT JESUS CHRIST IS HE.
THE ONE AND ONLY SON OF GOD,
THE ONE WHO SET ME FREE.
I ALSO KNOW WITHIN MY HEART,
THE REASON WHY HE DIED.
FOR ONLY IN THIS WAY OH LORD,
CAN SELF BE CRUCIFIED.
I PRAISE YOUR HOLY NAME MY LORD,
I PRAISE YOU ALL DAY LONG.
FOR BY YOUR SACRIFICE OF LOVE,
TO YOU I DO BELONG.
IN YOU OH LORD I LIVE AND MOVE,
AND HAVE MY BEING TOO.
I ANXIOUSLY AWAIT THE DAY,
WHEN I WILL BE WITH YOU.

BROKEN AND CONTRITE

MY HEART IT FEELS LIKE IT WILL BREAK,
THE TEARS THEY WILL NOT STOP.
FOR I HAVE SINNED AGAINST YOU LORD,
SO ON MY KNEES I DROP.
I HUMBLY COME BEFORE YOUR THRONE,
AND ASK YOU HEAR MY PRAYER.
THAT THROUGH THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST,
FORGIVENESS WOULD BE THERE.
I KNOW YOU ARE AT WORK IN ME,
EACH MOMENT OF THE DAY.
TO SHOW ME MORE OF WHO YOU ARE,
AND TEACH ME OF YOUR WAY.
SO PLEASE RECEIVE MY BREAKING HEART,
AND CLEANSE ME OF MY SIN.
AND I WILL SEEK YOU ALL MY DAYS,
UNTIL YOUR PRAISE I WIN.

"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart,
and saves such as have a contrite spirit." [Psalm 34:18]
18  Entertainment / Poetry/Prose / Re: Mary Took the Lamb to School on: June 26, 2007, 12:34:38 AM
That was great.
Somebody did a great job of taking an old ryme and using it to put forth a very important truth.

This is off the topic, but when I was 12 or so, (54 now), my town of Auburn, Wa. was the test town for push-button phones....and the first thing I learned was how to play Mary had a little lamb on it.

Thank you for the link Pastor....I have read it, and replied to it...
God bless you.
20  Theology / General Theology / Re: How to Raise a non-Christian on: June 26, 2007, 12:23:54 AM
Thank you Pastor.
I think I know your 'gift'. It is to take a truth and put it so even a person of little learning can understand....I say again, well put.

Praise God for teachers such as you.....God bless you....Roy.
21  Theology / Debate / Re: Are the Pentecostal Signs Being Restored? on: June 26, 2007, 12:13:26 AM
Oh, come on Tom.
I have never seen your face, and I think you are gorgeous.
(spiritually, that is).

22  Theology / General Theology / Re: Revealed By Fire on: June 26, 2007, 12:03:03 AM
Amen Brother Tom.
I have very much thought on these exact scriptures, and just what it means to "suffer loss". I cannot even begin to guess at what the rewards will be for the times I obeyed Him, but I have an inkling of what the "suffer loss" means.

Please understand, this is just my thinking.
It says in 1 Cor. 13:12, "For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known."
I believe that for a few moments we will see our life we lived as God sees it, and will "suffer loss" as we see all the times we failed to live for Him, and instead lived for 'self'.

Again, this is just my thoughts...I do not claim God showed me this...

God bless you all....Roy.

23  Theology / Debate / JESUS OR SANTA on: June 25, 2007, 04:12:24 AM
This may well have been discussed already over the years, but I would like to see what others think.

I have a writing called JESUS OR SANTA.
In it, I say that Satan created santa and the Easter bunny to take away from what these holy days really stand for. And I state that no Christian should teach their child that santa is real, for first, they are lying to their child...(thou shalt not lie)...and they are perpetuating the lie that satan put forth to deceive people....but you would be surprised how many tell me that it is no big deal.

So, what think you all about this?

God bless you all.....Roy.

That was so, so well put..... Bless you brother.
25  Prayer / General Discussion / Re: how to pray question on: June 25, 2007, 03:42:29 AM
A couple things I would like to say here.....

First off, I agree with many of the others, that there can be nothing wrong with praying to Jesus, for God knows our heart, and listens accordingly.
But I would also say that Jesus died so that we could have access to the Father, through Him.
I talk to God the Father...I talk to God the Holy Spirit...And I talk to Jesus.
But mostly I "pray to" the Father, through Jesus.
"And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you." [John 16:23].

What I myself have learned is that we are, for the most part, to pray to the Father, but we are to "seek" Jesus.
Long ago, Jesus spoke to me and said, "just seek Me." So I did. As I centered my whole thoughts and being on Jesus, God touched me in a very special way....It was like electricity flowing through my body, and lasted about 15 minutes. As it ended, I found myself speaking in tongues, though at that time I had never even heard of tongues. But this annointing from the Holy Spirit also opened up His Word to me like never before. It was a couple weeks later that He showed me from His word what the speaking in tongues was, and that I had been baptized in the Holy Spirit. "for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now." [Acts 1:5]. And, "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you." [verse 8]
(notice that it says the Holy Spirit shall come UPON you. When we are born again, He comes to live IN us...but when He annoints us, He comes UPON us. He came UPON Jesus...He came UPON the disciples...and He came UPON me that day, and annointed me for service.
Some will say, I suppose, that this was just for those days, but He has been doing it for all who seek Jesus until this day. "And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues." [Acts 2:4]
So, pray as you feel led, but the Word seems to say to pray to the Father, through Jesus Christ. This is why it is wrong for the catholic church is to teach people to pray through Mary. "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." [John 14:6].

God bless you as you seek Him....Roy.
26  Theology / Debate / Re: Are the Pentecostal Signs Being Restored? on: June 25, 2007, 02:59:02 AM
Amen brother Tom.
I especially liked your "example", because I definately am alive because of God, as I tried to kill myself 30 years ago, and it is only by His most glorious grace that I am alive, AND a Christian.....many, many times I have praised Him, knowing that I would have spent eternity in hell had it not been for His love and grace toward me.

Praise be to the One who died for us, while we were yet sinners.
[Romans 5:8].
27  Theology / General Theology / Walking On Water on: June 25, 2007, 01:36:47 AM
I would like to quote a scripture, and then show a truth in it that some may not have seen......

"Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea.
And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, "It is a ghost." And they cried for fear.
But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, "Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid."
And Peter answered and said to Him, "Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water."
So He said, "come." And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.
But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, "Lord, save me."
And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?"  [Matthew 14:25-31].

The first truth, that most of us see, or have seen, is that we need to keep our eyes on Jesus, and not on our circumstances. (the devil wants us to look at the problem, but God wants us to look at the Answer...Jesus).

Now to the other truth here...
Though I knew that it was God that gave Peter the power to walk on water, I wanted to know WHY He gave that power to Peter. So, of course, My Father showed me. (He does that when we pray and ask Him to reveal a truth to us).
He showed me that the very moment Peter, in his heart, was WILLING to obey the command Of Jesus, he received the POWER to obey the command of Jesus.
So, when we are WILLING TO OBEY, we receive the POWER TO OBEY.
Though this may seem obvious to some, it was a new truth to me at that time. And it greatly changed my spiritual life.
It showed me that God does not ask us to do anything, that He does not give us the power to do it. "Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit."
[Zech. 4:6].
I had tried so hard, (out of my own power), to quit smoking, but after 39 years, I just failed time after time.....so I got into prayer and told God that if He would give me the power to quit, I would be oh so happy to do so, but that I was not able to otherwise.
The next day, He said it was time to quit.....so I said, "O.K. Lord, I am WILLING TO OBEY." I threw away my pack of smokes, and from that moment on I never smoked...and I had no withdrawls, and no desire. Oh, praise the holy name of Jesus.
If you had not really seen this great truth, I pray it does for you what it did for me.......
God bless you all......Roy.

28  Theology / General Theology / Re: Formula for forgiveness on: June 25, 2007, 12:57:15 AM
A BIG Amen to that brother.
I myself have had to go to Him to find the love for others that I did not seem able to have......and it is amazing how He will give us love for someone we did not love, and then we find it easy to forgive them.

God bless all of us......Roy.
29  Welcome / About You! / Re: Hello, I'm new on: June 25, 2007, 12:50:46 AM
Hello Adoyre.

Hope and pray you like it here, for this is a great place to fellowship.
I myself have too often not obeyed our Lord regarding "forsake not the gathering of yourselves together," and between this forum, and my Bible study, I am being fed......

Bless you brother, and glad to see you here.....Roy.
30  Theology / Debate / Re: Are the Pentecostal Signs Being Restored? on: June 24, 2007, 01:24:15 AM
I posted a reply, but it did not show up, so I will reply again....

I do not believe that they are "being restored", because I don't think they ever left, to have to be restored.
I DO BELIEVE what you say about the signs and wonders that the antichrist will use, but I know that people like Smith Wigglesworth were truly "in the Spirit", and manifested the power of the Holy Spirit when he touched so many, and healed so many, and raised at least 10 from the dead. Yes, that was 80 to 100 years ago, but it is because he "believed".

I firmly believe this scripture applies to us now, as much as it did Peter, John, etc.
"And all things, whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you will recieve."

And also, "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father."

So to me, I do not doubt that God is still working this way in His children.
When I worked at the Bread Of Life Mission in Seattle, God told me to pray for the healing of a brother, and I saw him instantly healed. All I could say was WOW.

God bless you all....Roy.
