Coffee !!! I just ran out of coffee, now what?  Shocked I had a good day, spent some time with one of my beautiful daughters. It's always a blessing to have your children near you.  It quit raining and the sky is dark, think I'll settle down with the Lords word and some quiet prayer time.  Guess I'll have to have a coke {yuke}

23  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re: Veterans/Military on: November 13, 2008, 11:24:21 PM
I have read each one of the replies below several times.  I remember as if were this morning leaving VietNam, the feeling of getting off the plane and hearing the words, the anger, the hatred. The ballons filled with urine and other stuff hitting me as I tried to get to the terminal. You are right Pastor Roger, sometimes it is good to open old wounds but I can truthfully say some wounds never seem to heal. I felt so proud to serve my country, just as my father had done and generations before me but what had I done that was so wrong?  This was my question. I didn't want to be there, I didn't want to live in fear twenty four hours a day, I didn't want to see what I saw. But I did and now I have to live with this as do so many more. I tell very few people things like this, it seems like it just won't come out but just reading what you all have written has opened up something inside of me. To know that there are those all around the world who really do care and really do appreciate the sacrifice.  I have a love of my life who has given me more strength to deal with this than I ever thought anyone could give me and I thank God for her and I thank God for bringing me home to my family. Without Him I wouldn't be here.  I am sorry if this seems out of place but it just felt like I had to do this.  Thank you all for your love and respect.

I must really be missing something here.  Sin is sin.  Scripture tells us to " go and sin no more".  What is so hard to understand about that. Pastor Roger said it all, straight from the word of God. Amen to that. It seems there are some who like to "transfer" God's word into whatever and however they want it to work. Just doesn't work that way. In a way it's like everyone is yelling "it's my right - I have the right to ?? " Yes our country has a bill of rights and you can yell all you want.  Maybe it should be called a " bill of responsibility".  Everyone wants the right but no one wants the responsibility. The same with the word of God, you can read it all you want and yell but you have the responsibility to God our Father to follow his commandments.  What is against God is "against God".

After reading the replies in prayer about veterans, I thought it might be of interest to see how many out there were, still are or know someone in the military and if so, a little information about it. I'll start it:

     I am a two tour veteran of VietNam.  I was in the Military Police, a sentry dog handler and trainer. I trained and handled three dogs, all German Shepard's. Then I became an Operations Sergeant.  I was also a Co. Commander's aide and briefing instructor.

A woodpecker was flying all around trying to find just the right tree, of course he found it and was pecking away. He was so happy and was chirping to all the other birds how good he was.  While he was so busy bragging about himself it started to cloud up.  Then the rain began to pour down but he kept right on pecking on his tree.  Then all of a sudden a bolt of lighting hit the tree and split it right down the middle. All the other birds stared in disbelief to see that he was still alive, he saw them looking and knew he had to say something - "See how good I am, look what I did, split that tree right down the middle".

Quote from blackeyedpeas:
An excellent description of us would be as Christian Soldiers for the REAL and ONE COMMANDER AND CHIEF AND KING OF KINGS - ALMIGHTY GOD HIMSELF!      Amen Brother
29  Prayer / Prayer Requests / Re: jobless on: November 10, 2008, 10:24:56 PM
I want to thank you all for your prayers and thank you blackeyedpeas for the info.   I never thought in that direction. I also feel that we need to have prayer for all of our veterans on November 11.  Many have sacrificed their all and many are fighting and have fought for this great nation. If it wasn't for the veteran where would we be now.
Love in Christ

I've often asked "what is happening to our society".  The more I read God's word, the more I understand.   Man has a battle within himself.  He wants to rule and sweep the blood of Jesus Christ away.  God destroyed Sodom for the same purpose.  Man became corrupt.  Our world is on a down-hill roll.  Some of our churches are becoming of the world. I feel that is why we as Christians need to pray together anywhere we can. On this forum, there are people from all around the world and I feel blessed to be a part of the fellowship of Jesus Christ here.  One day Christ will come and all pain, worry, heartache will be vanished away. Until that day each of us need to be a family in Jesus Christ. Love to all and God's blessings.
