Christmas Blessings

Christmas Greetings I send to all
Happiness and peace I pray will call.
Reaching across the oceans wide
I hope that love with you will abide.
Solace I wish for all of mankind
That peace and harmony they may find.
May your lives be filled with grace
As the spirit of Christmas you embrace.
Son of God be with you all.

Born on earth our Heavenly King
Love and hope to us He did bring,
Endlessly He pours forth His grace
So that one day we’ll see His face.
Sing His praises loud and clear,
In faith in Him we have no fear.
Never let Him leave your side,
God sent his Son Jesus to be our guide.
Son of God to you we cling.

Unending Journey

Daily I travel from East to West
My journey’s unending I’ve no time to rest.
I was here at the beginning,
I’ll be here at the end
And I’ve seen all the changes man and nature attend.
As I plough my furrow across the sky
I gaze at the world through my golden eye.
I’ve seen all the good things
and I’ve seen all the bad
But I still see a world that’s divided and sad.
So much evil can Satan compound
But some choose to follow him,
the whole world around.
So open your hearts, let the Lord of Love in.
Only the grace of Lord Jesus can save you from sin.
Man can hide in my shadows,
Man can stand in my rays,
But I’ll see it all
Until the end of days.

Here`s one especially for you Blackeyedpeas, or maybe you`ve had your fill of candy.

Candy Dispenser

While I was visiting my sister one evening, I took out a candy dispenser that was shaped like a miniature person. "How does that thing work?" she asked.

As I turned the figurine's arm to pop candy out, my sister laughed.

"I see ... it's a lot like my husband," she said. "You have to twist his arm to get anything out of him."

Tears of Shame

The world’s poverty
Is a stranger’s agony.

They are our brothers and sisters in need,
The lonely shadow who need to be freed.
While the starving and lonely die in despair
The world just listens to their humble prayers.
As the sunset covers the suffering land
Only a few give a helping hand.
Their nights are full of cold and sorrow
For the pain that the dawn will bring tomorrow.
Their unending hope is for tears of rain
So that their land will live again.
Suffering and agony their companions each day,
A painful sight of a world in decay.

"If a man shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he too will cry out and not be answered." Proverbs 21:13

Bran Flakes

The couple were 85 years old and had been married for sixty years. Though they were far from rich, they managed to get by because they watched their pennies.
Though not young, they were both in very good health, largely due to the wife's insistence on healthy foods and exercise for the last decade.
One day, their good health didn't help when they went on a rare vacation and their plane crashed, sending them off to Heaven.
They reached the pearly gates, and St.. Peter escorted them inside. He took them to a beautiful mansion, furnished in gold and fine silks, with a fully stocked kitchen and a waterfall in the master bath. A maid could be seen hanging their favourite clothes in the closet.
They gasped in astonishment when he said, 'Welcome to Heaven. This will be your home now.'
The old man asked Peter how much all this was going to cost. 'Why, nothing,' Peter replied, 'remember, this is your reward in Heaven..'
The old man looked out the window and right there he saw a championship golf course, finer and more beautiful than any ever built on Earth..
'What are the greens fees?,' grumbled the old man.
'This is heaven,' St. Peter replied. 'You can play for free, every day.'
Next they went to the clubhouse and saw the lavish buffet lunch, with every imaginable cuisine laid out before them, from seafood to steaks to exotic deserts, free flowing beverages.
'Don't even ask,' said St. Peter to the man.. This is Heaven, it is all free for you to enjoy.'
The old man looked around and glanced nervously at his wife.
'Well, where are the low fat and low cholesterol foods and the decaffeinated tea?,' he asked.
That's the best part,' St. Peter replied.. 'You can eat and drink as much as you like of whatever you like and you will never get fat or sick.
This is Heaven!'
The old man pushed, 'No gym to work out at?'
'Not unless you want to,' was the answer.
'No testing my sugar or blood pressure.'
'Never again. All you do here is enjoy yourself.'

The old man glared at his wife and said, 'You and your flaming Bran Flakes. We could have been here ten years ago!'

Euphrates

Countries the Euphrates passes through: Turkey, Syria, and Iraq

The Euphrates is first mentioned in Gen. 2:14 as one of the rivers of Paradise. In the original Hebrew, it is actually named Perath. This has been translated as Euphrates.

Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow[/center]

The Past and the Present
was for loving and sharing,
Two hearts as one always willing and caring..

Yesterday
carried home on an angel’s wing,
Now in Heaven you joyfully sing.

Today
 brings us both  life anew,
Here on Earth for me and in Heaven for you.

Tomorrow
like rain the memories will fall
And those years of happiness I will recall.

The Future
Only God knows what that will be,
But I pray we will meet in Eternity.

I recieved these from friends in New York and thought they are great tributes to the Veterans.

Mike Schafernocker, Vietnam 1968

Look God,
I have never spoken to you,
But now I want to say,
How do you do?

You see God,
They told me you didn’t exist,
And like a fool,
I believed all this.

Last night from a shell hole,
I saw your sky,
I figured right then,
They had told me a lie.

Had I taken time,
To see the things you’ve made,
I’d have known they weren’t calling,
A spade, a spade.

I wonder God,
If you’d take my hand?
Somehow I feel,
That you’ll understand.

Funny I had to come,
To this hellish place,
Before I had time,
To see your face.

Well I guess there isn’t,
Much more to say,
But I’m sure glad God,
I meet you today.

I guess the zero hour,
Will soon be here,
But I’m not afraid,
Since I know you’re near.
The signal, well God,
I’ll have to go,
I like you a lot,
So I want you to know.

Look now this will be,
A horrible fight,
Who knows I may come,
To your house tonight.

Though I wasn’t friendly,
To you before,
I wonder God,
If you’d wait at the door?

Look I’m crying,
Me, shedding tears!
I wish I had known you,
These many years.

Well God, I'll have to go,
Good-bye,
Strange now since I’ve meet you,
I’m not afraid to die.

T'was the night before Christmas……..a Soldier’s Parody

T'was the night before Christmas,
He lived all alone,
In a one bedroom house made of
Plaster and stone.

I had come down the chimney
With presents to give,
And to see just who
In this home did live.

I looked all about,
A strange sight I did see,
No tinsel, no presents,
Not even a tree.

No stocking by mantle,
Just boots filled with sand,
On the wall hung pictures
Of far distant lands.

With medals and badges,
Awards of all kinds,
A sober thought
Came through my mind.

For this house was different,
It was dark and dreary,
I found the home of a soldier,
Once I could see clearly.

The soldier lay sleeping,
Silent, alone,
Curled up on the floor
In this one bedroom home.

The face was so gentle,
The room in such disorder,
Not how I pictured
A United States soldier.

Was this the hero
Of whom I'd just read?
Curled up on a poncho,
The floor for a bed?

I realized the families
That I saw this night,
Owed their lives to these soldiers
Who were willing to fight.

Soon round the world,
The children would play,
And grownups would celebrate
A bright Christmas day.

They all enjoyed freedom
Each month of the year,
Because of the soldiers,
Like the one lying here.

I couldn't help wonder
How many lay alone,
On a cold Christmas eve
In a land far from home.

The very thought
Brought a tear to my eye,
I dropped to my knees
And started to cry.

The soldier awakened
And I heard a rough voice,
"Santa don't cry,
This life is my choice,

I fight for freedom,
I don't ask for more,
My life I defend,
My country, my corps."

The soldier rolled over
And soon drifted to sleep,
I couldn't control it,
I continued to weep.

I kept watch for hours,
So silent and still
And we both shivered
From the cold night's chill.

I didn't want to leave
On that cold, dark, night,
This guardian of honor
So willing to fight.

Then the soldier rolled over,
With a voice soft and pure,
Whispered, "Carry on Santa,
It's Christmas day, all is secure."

One look at my watch,
And I knew he was right.
"Merry Christmas my friend,
And to all a good night."

This poem was written by a marine stationed in Okinawa, Japan.

A preacher trained his horse to go when he said, "Praise the Lord," and to stop when he said, "Amen." The preacher mounted the horse, said, "Praise the Lord" and went for a ride. When he wanted to stop for lunch, he said, "Amen." He took off again, saying, "Praise the Lord." The horse started going toward the edge of a cliff. The preacher got excited and said, "Whoa!" Then he remembered and said, "Amen," and the horse stopped at the edge of the cliff. The preacher was so relieved and grateful that he looked up to heaven and said, "Praise the Lord!"
