241  Theology / Bible Study / Re: Where is the Holy Sirit at ? on: January 16, 2009, 01:31:26 PM
Hi Matt 24:14 , are you saying that Luke 11:13 , how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him ?

Is it the same as 1 Cor 12:13 for by one Spirit are we all Placed into one Body ?
242  Theology / Apologetics / What came first Covenants or Dispensations ? on: January 13, 2009, 06:35:44 PM
In theology there are 2 major hermaneutics in the Bible , and that is Covenant theology and Dispensationalism .

I see Covenant Theology on many forums .  I will stay with dispensationalism for now .
There 2 scriptures that prove to me that dispensationalism came first , and the first one is found in Eph 1:4  , According as he hath chosen us in Him BEFORE the foundation  ( or before the overthrow ) of the  WORLD .

So we see from this passage only , we were already chosen before he MADE the universe .

The other verse is found in 2 Tim 1: 9 ;  who hath saved us

called us , not by works , but according to His purpose and grace

which was given us in Christ Jesus BEFORE  the world began . So we see that dispensations were before the beginning of the world.

Paul always uses the Greek word PRO , which means before , and Peter uses the Greek word APO , which means FROM the foundation of the world .

But to me there is one more dispensation before this , and that is the Dispensation of Angelic Testing . We know that Lucifer fell thru pride and all those under him became demons .

243  Theology / General Theology / Re: How many Gospels are there ? on: November 19, 2008, 09:22:55 PM
Hi  BLACKEYEPEA, you read between the lines and I fully agree. I am also on another forum who are anti-dispensational and have to walk a very straight line so that I will not be banned, as I have already been warned once. But I had a feeling that you would give me  a positive response. By the way , Paul Sadler spoke at our Church last Sunday. Good speaker. The forum that I have left are ALL one gospel theory . Some believe that the New Covenant and the one gospel began in Genesis with Abraham. dan p
244  Theology / General Theology / How many Dispensation are there really ? on: November 19, 2008, 06:05:04 PM
Most don't know what the word dispensation is or what it really means and don't care.

 1) Some say that there are only 2 dispensations

 2) some say that there are 7 dispensations

 3) I say that there are more than 7

 4) In Eph 1:10 , mentions the Dispensation of Fulness of Time, that makes #8

 5) There is also THE  Dispensation of Angelic Testing where Lucifer and his angels failed their test and now we have the devil and fallen angels

 6) this one is hard to see and it runs concurrently with the Gospels, and it is the Dispensation of Christ UN-glorified Humanity, see Phil 2:5-8 . So I see 10 dispensations. MAY THERE BE MORE ?

245  Theology / General Theology / How many Gospels are there ? on: November 19, 2008, 03:37:22 PM
There are many Christians who say that there is only ONE gospel in the Bible. Some have even said that the New Covenant and the Gospel began in Genesis with Abraham.
 1) In Gal 2:7 we see the #1 gospel

 2) It is called the Gospel of the UN-circumcision that was committed to Paul ( Rom 1:1 and Acts 20:24 ) Notice that it is called the gospel and it is Emphasised where Peter's is not

 3) #2 gospel is called ( in Gal 2:7 ) Circumcision that was given to Peter.

 4) #3 gospel is found in Gal 3:8 where Paul calls it the gospel preached to Abraham

 5) So I see 3.

246  Theology / Debate / What is Universal Reconciilation ? on: November 13, 2008, 03:34:35 PM
Colossians 1:20 --and by Him to reconcile ALL THINGS  to himself, by him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.
There is a certain phrase in the New Testament that has been abused by Greek scholars for years, and could be called HERESY.

The Greek word involved is the Greek word PAS, means , all or every.

 1) PANTA - neuter plural , referring to ( all things )

 2) TA PANTA- neuter plural , with the  article TA , also translated " all things " in our Bible, but actually referring to something else, which is why it contains the article TA.
A Manuel Greek Grammer  by DANA and Mantey is a recognized and accepted authority dealing with the Greek.  This is what they say on p137 , The function of the article is to point out an object or to draw attention to it . Its use with a word makes the word stand out DISTINCTLY.
A proper understanding of " all things will help us all from falling into heresy of the false doctrine of Universal Reconciliation, believed by many people, who use Col 1:20 to proof this teaching.

But Col 1:20 does not teach this . All things  ( PANTA ) IS NOT IN THE Greek TEXT!!!!!.   Rather  it is TA PANTA, " the all things " which means specific things, that is in the Greek text. It is these things that are going to be reconciled to the Lord Jesus Christ. When Jesus died on the cross , He died for everyone in the world. That is true. But has everyone believed this ?  NO. !!

So then it is the Body of Christ that is meant by " the all things " those members who have died and are in heaven, as well as those who are alive on earth . God  DID NOT have a plan of salvation for the fallen angels or for the devil , so that they are not in view here.

The Nation of Israel is not in view here either. God has a prophetic plan for that Nation according to the Abrahamic Covenant that is still future. By the way, there are about 45 places in the New Testament where " THE ALL THINGS " is used. Mark4:11 , Acts 17:25 , Rom 8:32 , Rom 11:36 , 1 Cor 8:6 , 1 Cor 9:22 , 1 Cor 11:12 , 1 Cor 12:6 , 1 Cor 12:19 , etc.

247  Theology / Debate / Re: Salvation Contradictions? on: November 13, 2008, 02:11:00 PM
Many have already mentioned that Satan tries to get us to doubt our salvation in Christ. I know that this post is late. Growing up in a church that taught , that you could lose your salvation , that is hard to shake.

Enter Eph 2:8, 9.

1) There are many verses that we can you.  By grace are ye saved.  I am not a Greek scholar but you can check it out like I did .

2) The  word Saved is in the Greek perfect tense

3) The prefect tense means ,  PAST action, with CONTINUING RESULTS, always in the present

4) Which means that you can not LOSE your salvation and that you really have eternal life

5) It is in the Greek Passive voice, which means that God was the means that you where put into Christ.

6) Also in the Greek Indicative Mood , which means what happenned really is a FACT

7) This means saved always saved

248  Theology / Debate / Re: JEHOVAH WITNESSES on: August 16, 2008, 05:03:32 PM
This for those that need some ammo. In there World Translation, they changed the word ( KURIOS Lord )  to Jehovah , and that means everywhere Lord is FOUND.
Except for Phil 2:11, where it says that tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is  LORD , This is the only word   Lord   that they do not change to Jehovah, because they CAN NOT, because if they do , THEY will confess that Lord in Phil 2:11 is Christ, and their house of cards will come fallings down.
249  Theology / Debate / Re: Acts 2:38 Baptism in Jesus Name on: July 28, 2008, 06:06:55 PM
I have to  disagree. The Body of Christ is NOT, NOT, NOT in view here, and if it is give verse where it is, please. The words in v39 are NOT for the Body and there is not a scintilla of proof that Peter know what yet had not been written, about the Body of Christ , since it was hid in God , and only revealed to the Apostle Paul after Acts 9.  Acts 2:38 is about the killing of Jesus and the Body of Christ was NOT yet in existence, and the Jews of that time said, WHAT SHALL WE DO ? Peter told them what to do, repent and be baptized, AND THIS COULD ONLY HAPPEN FOR THAT TIME ONLY.  Only Jews said , " what shall we do " ?
250  Theology / General Theology / Another question about Baptism on: July 24, 2008, 07:08:15 PM
We know that God is not dealing with Isreal as a Nation, but after the Departure of the Body of Christ, Matt 28:19 will be in effect during the Tribulation. After the end of the GREAT tribulation IS OVER, and Matt 25, with the sheep and the goats, with the sheep entering the 1000 yr reign of Christ, the New Covenant kicks in, will there be any water baptism ?
251  Theology / General Theology / Isreal's baptism on: July 24, 2008, 07:00:04 PM
When Christ came in the flesh to Isreal, Jesus was born under the Law, lived under the Law, kept the Law, and died under the Law. So to me Isreal was in Covenant relationship with God, they had a temple, a Priesthood, any Jew could give a sacrifice for individual sins, SO MAY question , why did God send John the Baptist to baptize Isreal ?
252  Theology / General Theology / Re: Hebrews 10:26 Plain english explaination on: June 24, 2008, 05:17:15 PM
A literal translation of Heb 10 :26, For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth , there no longer remains a sacifice for sins.  This is a very strong warning through v31.  This very interesting that there is no " if " in the Greek text. Both KJV version do not italicize it, which is wrong. So the key word here is " willfully " i.  It also means " deliberately, intentionally," and is used in one other verse, in 1 Peter 5:2,  willingly. Paul is referring to deliberate, intentional sin on the part of unsaved Jews . The sin is the rejection of their Messiah and His death on the cross as a sacrifice for their sins. Since their Messiah ONLY DIED ONCE, , there is NO MORE SACRIFICE  for sins. This is what Isreal did in Acts 7 , when the Sanhedrin stoned Stephen to death. Paul also mentioned this unbelief in Heb 6:4,6 ; ' FOR IT IS IMPOSSIBLE , if they fall away to renew them again to repentance's the fact that there remains no sacrifices for sins. All they had to look forward to is the Judgement of God v27. Knowledge refers to  " accurate knowledge " and they had this knowledge preached to them by Peter on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2 . He offered them salvation AND the earthly Kingdom of God  IF the Nation repented of it's unbelief.

253  Theology / Debate / Re: Apostolic succession on: June 24, 2008, 03:27:47 PM
There is no scripture to support APOSTOLIC  SUCCESSION, as there is no scripture to support Apostolic baptism. In the gospels , there is not any Christianity there. The question also is about Priests, and I don't see how they are from the tribe of Levi . To be a priest in Isreal you had to be a descendant from the tribe of Levi, and to be a High priest, you had to be a descendant of and from the tribe of Aaron. So their can not be any Priests today in the Body of Christ .   dan p
254  Theology / Debate / Re: Rick Warren and his 40 days of Perpose on: June 21, 2008, 07:04:42 PM
If you have a Pastor worth his salt, you don't Rick Warrens book. I know some who attend there, and made her very uneasy, especially when engaging in politics. And I don't agree with his stand on water baptism, and to me it is a waste of money.
255  Theology / Apologetics / Re: Colossians 2 on: June 14, 2008, 08:18:54 PM
Sorry , but I cut myself off. Just a small favor to ask , where the root and branches are in Col 2: 6-7. I can see that we are to be rooted in the faith v7 . Can you tell me where you are getting the branches, in Matt ?
