196  Theology / Debate / Re: Why do we have to confess sins ?? on: December 17, 2010, 01:48:34 PM
Hi Dan

I shall be happy to answer your questions.

Next verse, I Jn.9:  "if" we confess our sins (present tense) God is "faithful and just to forgive and cleanse".  But conditioned on "if" we do.

Now, I Jn.10:  "If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liiar and his word is not in us."  Again, the conditional word "if".  Again I concliude its dangerous to call God a liar.  The word "IF" is not only conditional but much hangs on it.  But so much for now.

God bless,
duval

Hi duval , but 1 John 1:9  " IF "   we confess our sins ,  IS  NOT  IN  HE  PRESENT  TENSE , SORRY .

Just so you know ,  "  IF we confess our sins  "  is in the Greek Subjunctive Mood and it means that it   MIGHT  happen !

Next 1 and 2nd  and  3rd  John are new covenant ground and the so-called General Epistles  will be used in the tribulation after the Body of Christ is Departed/Rapture .

Hi Dan

If careful  search of scripture is made it will be seen that present sins are forgiven conditionally.  There is the word "if" there.  Little, but a mighty big word.  I have yet to read anywhere in the Bible where "future" sins are forgiven now, presently, at this time.  If you know of such a passage please share it with me.

God bless you as you study,
duval

Hi duval , and give that verse that you are talking about  , " if "  ,  and conditioned on what ??   dan p
198  Theology / Debate / Re: Why do we have to confess sins ?? on: December 16, 2010, 07:44:07 PM
Hi Dan.

The process of confessing a sin is to recognize that you have sinned.  You cannot confess something that you did not do.   A heart that has confessed to Jesus and has turned towards Jesus will be one that realizes when they have done wrong and desire to be forgiven for that offense....or to confess.  It is not mandated as far as you having to continually do that in order to keep your salvation, however it is something that we should do to build our relationship with the Lord.

Hi Jerry , and  ALL  sins have been forgiven , Past  ,  Present and Future .  But read Gal 6:1-7 !!!
199  Theology / Debate / Re: What is Acts 15:11 saying ?? on: December 16, 2010, 07:38:23 PM
Hi Dan

There are no TWO gospels in Gal.2:7 as though one kind of message was preached to the Jew and another to the Gentile.  Paul (as i noted to you previousliy) said there was only one gospel, anything more or less was perverted.  What you have here is that Peter continued with the Jew who had been circumcised under Moses and Paul to the Gentile who some Jewish brethren insisted they (Gentiles) be circumcised as well.  Thats all there is to that.  Thats what Acts 15 is all about.  Circumcision has nothing to do with salvation for either Jew or Gentile.

Gof bless,
duval

Hi duval , and there 2 gospels in Gal 2:7 , one to the Un-circumcision and one to the Circumcision , and all should no that they are different and Eph 2:11  is a good place and verse to know !   dan p
200  Theology / Debate / Re: How was Paul saved ??? on: December 16, 2010, 07:32:29 PM
At the other end of the "parenthesis," a similar question can be posed: Will the 144,000 be saved by the presentation of Paul's Gospel or by the Kingdom Gospel? They'll be heading into the Millennium, but they'll be coming out of the dispensation of Grace.

Don't mean to hijack the thread. Just thought this might serve to emphasize the reality of the problem.

Hi BillyShope , I can be sure that it is not by Grace as we will be Departed/Rapture .

By Matt 24:13 , they will have to endure to the end of the Tribulation and what they will be preaching will be the Gospel of the Kingdom as it says in verse 14 , and this is what Jesus preached in Matt4:17 .
201  Theology / Debate / Re: Who has to repent ? on: December 16, 2010, 07:26:12 PM
At one time, 2 Gospels were being preached (Galatians 2:7). Paul was prepared to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Peter and the others in an effort to cause the Jews and the Jewish proselytes to recognize that Christ is the Messiah. We see this from his presentation of the Kingdom Gospel in the verses from Acts 17. But, there came a time (Acts 18:6) when Paul no longer attempted to turn the Jews to repentance, but, instead, went to the Gentiles with the Grace Gospel that God had granted him the privilege to be the first to present. Paul was not ashamed of his presentations of the Kingdom Gospel, however, and faithfully recounted them in Acts 26.

Hi  BillyShope , and we see that in Acts 21:21 it is still Law and Repentance and my OP , of Acts 15:11 , shows how complex it can be for those who do not rightly divide the word .  And Acts 17:30 does not negate my OP ,  DAN P
202  Theology / Debate / Re: How was Paul Baptized ?? on: December 16, 2010, 07:12:01 PM
Hi Dan P

Where in scripture is it found that sins are washed in Holy Spirit baptism?

God bless,
duval

Hi duval , and I have not seen one , or have you ?  Where did you hear that and what verse did they use ?? dan p
203  Theology / Debate / Re: Can sins be Remitted ?? on: December 16, 2010, 06:57:24 PM
Hi Billy Slope

Why is II Cor.5:10 greater than what is commonly called "the great commission"?
God bless,
duval

Hi duval , and I know that I am cutting Billy S , but the so-called great commission was given to the 12 Apostles and 2 Cor 5:20 was given to the Body of Christ . dan p
204  Theology / Debate / Re: Can sins be Remitted ?? on: December 16, 2010, 06:53:32 PM
I suppose it's okay to call it the "Great Commission," so long as we realize that the GREATER Commission is found in Second Corinthians 5:20 :

Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

Hi BillyShope , and you are right that the Apostles were given one and Paul has given us  2 Cor 5:20 and that is Pauline , dan p
205  Theology / Debate / Re: Where does the Body of Christ have its Beginning ? on: December 16, 2010, 06:03:27 PM
But Dan, Paul didn't begin the body of Christ.

Best wishes
duval

Hi duvel , and you have it right on and Rom 1:1  and  1 Tim 1:15and 16  and 1 Cor 15:8  are the proof texts !
206  Theology / Debate / Re: What is Acts 15:11 saying ?? on: November 30, 2010, 06:30:11 PM
Hi , and as I am Pauline , Gal 2:7 , we see 2 gospels here .

I have never seen where Paul taught what Jesus taught in Matt 4:17 or what John taught in Matt 3:11 and you can tell I am not a Covenant theology believer as Dispensations came before Covenants , Eph 1:4 and 2 Tim 1:9 .
207  Theology / Debate / Re: Does the Body of Christ have a Covenant ?? on: October 07, 2010, 04:06:28 PM
Dan, let me try to make this a little more clear so that perhaps you can understand it. Abraham was given a promise (covenant) that was based on faith not law. If you read the above verses and those throughout Romans and Galatians you will clearly see that through faith as soon as we belong to God that we are then heirs of that promise (covenant) through faith.

Hi Pastor Roger , to start off , Eph 2:12 a literal translation ; " that at the time you were without Christ , being ALIENS from the commonwealth of Israel  and strangers from the Covenant/DIATHEKE  of the promise , having no hope and godless in the world .

Covenant theology thinks that they are the only ones who understand this section of Ephesians .

 Under Eph 2:12 according to verse 12 ;

 #1 , Gentiles are without Christ which means "  Messiah " .

#2 , ALIENS from the Commonwealth of Israel .  And Gentiles are  Aliens from Israel , with its government and citizenship  and possessed the which counted with God .

#3 , Strangers from the Covenants of Promise ; A stranger is someone  OUTSIDE  of Israel .

#4 , This word is also used in verse 19 , where , because of salvation in Christ ,  THEY  are not  STRANGERS  any longer but fellowcitizens and members of the household of God , another term for the Body of Christ , see Gall 6:10 .

#5 , The word  " promise " contains the  SINGULAR   Article in Greek  ( Greek word  THE  " )  and should read  "  the promise " .

#6 , This promise is the  PROMISE   of a Deliverer , a Messiah  who would rule over the whole earth through the Nation of Israel  , 2  Sam 7:4-16 .

#7 , And as my Mentor says , this will the Grand  Climax  of God's promise to Isarel .
208  Theology / Debate / Re: Does the Body of Christ have a Covenant ?? on: October 06, 2010, 06:29:32 PM
[quote author=Pastor Roger l

Gal 3:16  Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
Gal 3:17  And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.

Gal 3:29  And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

[/quote

Hi Pastor Roger , and no debate , ok , and here is a world for word literal translation of Gal 3:17 ,  And this I say , the Law , having come into existence after 4 hundred and 30 years , does not render void  ( the )  covenant having been established beforehand by God in Christ , so as to abolish the promise .

Most all see 2 subjects here ;  the Abrahamic Covenant  and the Law of Moses .

To me , this verse states that the Covenant was confirmed before by God .  Was confirmed by God is the Greek verb  PROKUROO ,  and is used once in the New Testament .

It is in the Perfect Tense , Passive voice , showing that God did the establishing and the Verb tense suggests that God will still do this in the future after the Departure/Rapture of the Assembly .  This means to me that God is not finished with the Nation of Israel , as Covenant Theology teaches .

This Galatians passage to is not linked to a Covenant with the Body of Christ and does not trump Eph 2:12 , NOR contradict it .
209  Theology / Debate / Re: How was Paul Baptized ?? on: October 05, 2010, 08:23:32 PM
Hi to all , and if Paul was saved under the preaching of the Gospel of the Kingdom , then by that definition , Paul have to be Water Baptized !!

Acts 9:18 , say that Paul was Baptized ?

Was it Water or Dry ??

If Paul was saved by Grace , why is he Baptized ??

And if by Water , why have another Apostle ??

Hi to all , and the is what Acts 9:17 is saying to all .

#1 , The context does not have water in it , so his  Baptism is not with water !

#2 , The text says that when Ananias put his hands on Paul two things happened to Paul .

 #3 , Paul received his sight !

#4 , Paul was then  "  filled with Holy Spirit  "  power !!

#5 , In Acts 9:6 , Paul was indwelt  with the Holy Spirit as 1 Cor 12:3 reveals !

#6 , Here in Acts 9:17 , Paul is  "  FILLED WITH HOLY SPIRIT  which is different than the Indwelling and Placing us into the Body of Christ  1 Cor 12:13 .

#7 , The filling with the Holy is for Paul to fulfill his commission in Acts 9:15 and what all Christians are to strive for , the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives , for service and Maturity , 2 Tim 2:15 and Phil 1:10  to discover the things that Differ .
210  Theology / Debate / Re: Does the Body of Christ have a Covenant ?? on: October 05, 2010, 02:11:35 PM
Dan,

I'm not interested in arguing, especially about semantics and the strange way you put things. By the way, the other thread was temporarily locked while deciding if it was heresy or not. It is now open after it was decided you simply put things in a very strange way. Regardless, let me repeat, I'm not interested in arguing with you. Under the circumstances, I doubt that anyone else will be interested either. I guess you could argue with yourself.

Has anyone ever been saved by the Law? - Answer - NO - not under any covenant or dispensation! - End of Story.

Hi nChrist , and Eph 2:12 says that we are " strangers from the Covenants of promise having no hope , and without God in the world  . To ,me , than no Covenants were ever given to the Gentiles .

And you do not have to debate me even when I know that what I write is somewhat controverial  , even among Dispensationalist , but I know that I am not alone .  Salvation under the Law is a separate subject .
