1  Fellowship / Just For Women / Re: New pastor doesn't want us to teach the children Bible stories! on: March 06, 2008, 02:13:17 PM
I couldn't agree more!

Get outta there and find a real church!

"Horses aren't evil! Horses are good!"

Dunno, but I'm thoroughly convinced that Shetland ponies, at the very least, are the Agents Of Supreme Evil!
When I was little and didn't know any better, I used to be subjected to their cunning ways via a stable my dad took me to on occasion. One pony took off with me and then reared up, sending me into the dirt.
At the same place, another demon...I mean pony, lowered its head and made me slide down its neck, into the dirt.
Still another one (or maybe it was the same one) knocked me off by walking under a low tree branch.
I was too young to understand then, but had I looked, I'm sure I would see the flames of hell in their eyes, and they were trying to send me there before I could get saved.
Also, many years ago a woman in my church told of a Shetland pony that lived either on the property she was living on at the time, or possibly next door, and the beast would attack her for absolutely no reason as she did gardening work. It would bite and kick her. She said she hated it and wanted to BBQ the thing!!
I have heard many other horror stories about these ponies, too.
This is why I think they are Satan's agents in disguise, and their mission is to harm as many kids (and gardeners) as possible!
4  Fellowship / Witnessing / A Great Idea For A Witnessing Tool! on: December 17, 2007, 10:36:53 PM
I am one of those people who is not comfortable talking to others, especially when it comes to witnessing. But I have found something that helps alot in that area, and I think other "shy" people would like it too.
I have one (several, actually) of those little scrolling electronic readerboard badges, and often affix it to a purse or backpack, and have a Christian message on it. (My favorite is 'Jesus Died So You Could Live!')

I have gotten numerous compliments at church by people who think it's a wonderful idea. If I'm nervous talking to people, I just let it do the talking! And if anyone reading it wants to know more, they can simply ask! Cheesy
5  Theology / Debate / Re: animals and souls on: December 17, 2007, 09:03:00 PM
I find it absolutely hilarious to think that all of us may someday, in heaven, be introduced to a beautiful, healthy chicken named 'Crazy Legs'!!   Grin Grin

But who knows...?
6  Theology / Debate / Re: what denomination are you? on: December 17, 2007, 08:31:40 PM
Most of the various churches I've attended have been Pentecostal or very similar. I've also visited a Baptist church a few times. I guess I would call myself Pentecostal, but most importantly I want to be a true believer. If my 'denomination' started teaching things that are obviously incorrect, I would follow the doctrines of God rather than the doctrines of men. I hold myself accountable to God's Word, not the bylaws and teachings of some church.
