Pastor Roger,

Thank you so much for your advise in regards to studying the Bible. I do belong to a local church that does have Bible study classes on an ongoing schedule. I think it would be to my advantage to join that group to better understand the readings. That way, I could ask questions as they arise and be able to get a better understanding of what we just read. Thank you again for your advise!!

God bless you,

Tom

4  Theology / Bible Study / Bible Version? on: July 02, 2009, 08:11:29 AM
Hi,

I am a recently born again Christian that is trying to read as much of the Bible as I can in my spear time (not much these days, working a lot), I have (2) versions of the Bible (NIV and KJV). I am having some trouble from time to time understanding some of the Gospels. Is there another version of the Bible that is easier to understand? I have heard that the "New Living Translation" version is written in such a way that it is easily understood. Any thoughts/comments?

Thank you,

Tom

7  Entertainment / Computer Hardware and Software / E-Sword Help on: November 17, 2008, 05:26:02 PM
Hi,

I just downloaded and installed E-Sword to my computer, including the updates and have a question. When I go to any gospel, example: Joshua 5:1, I see the following:
And it came to pass,  H1961 When all H3605........ How can I display the text without the "references" H1961, H3605..... These are distracting while reading.

Thank you,

Tom

David,
Sorry to hear about your brothers condition!!! I will certainly say a prayer for him.
9  Prayer / Prayer Requests / My father is sick on: October 30, 2007, 12:17:18 PM
I just received some terrible news from my mother last night about my fathers health. Apparently they were on vacation about 3 hours away from home when my father got short winded. They decided to cut their vacation short and return home. When they got home, they went straight to the doctors office where they did a complete physical and blood work, as well as x-rays. Well, some of the test came back. The results show that my father has an enlarged heart. I'm not real sure how serious this condition is, but I am real worried about him!!! I have been praying ever since I heard the news.
Anyway, it sure would be nice if anyone who has a few extra moments on there hands could say a small prayer for my father. The power of prayer can really make a difference.

May God bless all of you!!!

Tom,

Thanks so much for the advice! I will be looking into the coomputer and software forum to see what I can find there. I have only recently begun to really read & study the Bible. I have started with the book of John.

May God bless you,

Tom
11  Welcome / About You! / Re: New to this Forum on: October 29, 2007, 12:09:23 PM
Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome!!! My life has changes so much since I made the decision to devote my life to the Lord. I know the future is full of great things for me and my teenage daughter and son. My only regret is that I didn't make this decision much earlier in my life. I am just glad that I finally did make the change.

I am reading the "Left Behind" series. I have just recently had them given to me as a gift. I have read the first (3) books and I am looking forward to reading all (16) of them. At least, I think there are (16) books to this series.
