1  Prayer / General Discussion / Re: Lost on: April 05, 2008, 05:19:38 PM
Hey yall, it's Serina new to Christiansunite.com. recently been goin threw a lot and lost one of my really close friends to a drive by shootin. he just 19 too. javascript:void(0);
Cry Been tryin really hard to cope wit this loss. we shared somethin special coz his love for God was deep and we always went to church together.  it's been real hard. Been listenin to Canton Jones's music on this song My Day I Won't Stop on his myspace page coz it's really uplifting and his music be  preachin the words of God when i feelin down and lost. my friend and i even planned to go to his Hope Nation concert in 2 days. anyone herd his music? maybe we can talk about Canton's music or maybe we can talk about other Christian music artists that you like. 'm really feelin lost right now and havin trouble movin on.

I haven't posted herein quite a while...but I often come to places where I can't move on...for different reasons...lesser reasons than having a friend die from violence.  I am so sorry to read this today...I know that if you can wait, He will strengthen you and help you face this situation with grace and wisdom...He can also be there for you if you need a good cry.  Yes, Godly music can be very comforting...I just don't listen to it much anymore for some reason...but that is where I am right now...

I have this on DVD...do enjoy it but always miss any mention of Jesus in an honoring way...all these people "seem" Godless...but nice.  HHHHmmmm
3  Entertainment / Movies / Re: Actress Deborah Kerr Dies at Age 86 on: November 01, 2007, 09:54:12 AM
I enjoyed most of her movies...really liked her in Col Blimp...love "old" movies anyway.  I hope she is in heaven.

I would agree with others here...your prayers are very effective, don't give up...keep on keeping on...the persecution also purifies your soul... Roll Eyes

Father I do pray for protection for this servant of yours, give him more insight into Your purposes and plans, let his prayer life abound in Your strength and grace...and send support as needed so he won't lose heart.

"Leaping And Diving"

Give me understanding, that I may keep your law and observe it with my whole heart. Lead me in the path of your commandments, for I delight in it. Incline my heart to your testimonies, and not to selfish gain! Psalm 119:34-36

Scientists tell me that polar bears, as they try to catch their favorite dinner of seal, sometimes resort to a cunning bit of trickery. If the seal's hole is near the edge of the ice, the polar bear will take a deep breath and swim under water to its exact location. Remaining below the surface, he will then make a sound that imitates a fish. When the charmed seal hears this, he dives in for a supper, only to find himself entrapped in the huge, hungry embrace of the bear.

I wonder how many of life's temptations are that way? They sneak up on us, promising to give us our heart's desire. It's only when we make a commitment and dive in, do we find out that we've been entrapped. Maybe we ought to change that old expression, "Look before you leap." to "Look before you dive in." A lot of people would be a lot better off if they did.

To guide us in our life's diving or leaping, the Lord has given us His commandments. Follow them, and you will find life's temptations will go unheeded, and you stay out of sin's grasp.

I'm feeling this way...entrapped...when I try to watch a "simple" show on TV these days...or see a new movie...and I try to be very careful what I choose to watch...but entertainment has almost or maybe is allready "enemy territory".

Sure got my mind and thoughts defiled last night; it just wasn't worth spending the time in front of the TV after all.   Roll Eyes
6  Theology / Apologetics / Re: Faith and Unbelief And their Effects on: September 27, 2007, 03:23:16 PM
Thank you for posting this teaching...I have been praying some of these verses for myself a lot lately...desiring to have that simple faith that Mary had...desiring for the God of hope to fill me with  and joy and peace "in believing"...that I might abound in hope...by the power of the Holy Spirit.  Ro 15:13

I also see the Lord...standing near and ready to help those in grief...those of us who may be confused  and wandering around...He is right there to reveal Himself and open our understanding if we are able to listen.

Give us ears O Lord, to hear what Your Spirit is saying thru the scriptures...quicken our hearts to the Truth...make us bold and yet simple proclaimers of Your gospel.
