Sin hinders our relationship to Christ no matter what the sin is. The reason I brought up this question was because I have a friend named Robert and he is gay. About three months ago, he started reading the Bible and a month later he claims he is saved. Although he has read that homosexuality is a sin... he continues to say he was born that way and he can't stray away from it. I told him he should know that's not true because all things are possible through Christ. So I just ask for any advice on this situation that I can tell him.
He apparently hasn't read 2 Corinthians 5:17: "Therefore if any man (or woman) be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold all things are become new." That means we give up the old life, the sinful desires (including ALL sexual sin), and we desire to live a new life for Christ. If that desire isn't there, then he has never really been born again. All he's done is "get religion".
