16  Theology / Debate / Re: The "GRACE" Movement (Hot Potato!) on: April 01, 2007, 10:58:03 PM
The Grace Movement is also called Free Grace .
They  start with this view  that you can receive Christ as your Savior and  not as Lord ,they then interpret the whole New Testament in that light.
I'm going to list some of the type of teaching they teach,and I believe with just a little study the false teaching can be rebuked.
1] Repentance is never included as part of the Gospel message.
2]One may receive Christ as Savior, yet reject Him as Lord.That is ,one may receive Christ by faith alone(intellectual assent is the definition some of them affirm to ),yet do so with on going rebellion--accepting the gift while shaking a fist at the giver.God does not necessarily change the heart when he saves someone.
3]True Christians will not necessarily evidence their faith by works(fruit) .In fact a true Christian may never show any evidence of a new birth.
4] True Christians will not necessarily persevere  in the faith.In fact a true Christian may receive Jesus as Savior ,later become intellectually unconvinced of the Gospel ,denounce Christ and become an atheist ;however ,because of that decision made at one time,he is still considered saved.
5]Christians will be divided into to groups at the judgement seat, the overcoming Christians will be allowed to reign with Christ in the millennial kingdom,they are the heirs.the unfaithful,carnal believers however will get into the kingdom but will not reign with Christ .they will be barred from the banquet.

As can be seen this is a teaching that is false and has the potential to lead some to hell .

Hope this is usefull
17  Theology / Debate / Re: Is it me or.... on: April 01, 2007, 10:14:41 PM
Tom if it sounded like I was saying just give up then please forgive me ,that is not what I was meaning to say.The ? the way I under stood it was Is America Like sodom?
If the Christian Church doesn't get back to basics ,and continues on the course that its going in making Christianity warm And fuzzy  in a way taking Christ out of the picture then this country is doomed to the wrath of God .
B= basic
I=Instructions
B=before
L=leaving
E= earth
Without these instructions being taught and used then we will be lost.

Interesting how this went from is America like sodom to can women lead in a church.I was raised in a denomination that women have been a head of a church.
and Ireally do not have a problem with that .for there are some times when the men of the church do not step up to the plate .so by not stepping up to the plate they infact put themselves under the athority of a woman.so if a manis'nt willing then the complaining of woman should stop.
To get back to the subject of like sodom the USA is a great country I was in the navy for 7 years and have seen a lot of other contrys and wouldn't want to live else were.The reason I belive this country hasn't yet fallen is because of the church and this countrys support of Isreal.Num 24 :9 second half .Blessed is everyone who blesses you (Isreal) and cursed is everyone who curses you(Isreal).NASB
I belive that God is with holding some possible judgments on us as a country because of our support of Isreal.woe the day we say Isreal your on your own.
There are millions of people that call themselves Christian but only a hand full who seem to know who Christ is.
Alot of the main line denominations  are becoming soft on the  Word of God and is making Christianity Warm and fuzzy .So as to not have to see our own faults or sins and just go to church and you will be ok.NOT
REPENT means to turn away from.If you are a practicing homosexual then you cannot be in ministry for you are in continual sin the Bible is clear ,its a sin period.
As the church goes soft then this country is doomed to have the kind of distruction that sodom had .
My opinion like it hate it             I'll see you all in heaven
19  Theology / Apologetics / Re: Died on Friday but rose on Sunday? I disagree on: April 01, 2007, 06:32:53 AM
Debp thats correct Ive allways been  taught that a part of a day is counted as a day. Its like saying Ive worked all day but yet may have only worked 8 hours ,yet we still call it a day.
20  Theology / Debate / Re: Moral Responsibilities of Extraterrestrials? on: March 27, 2007, 08:08:35 AM

21  Theology / Debate / Re: Joel Osteen and the Prosperity Gospel on: March 25, 2007, 10:54:46 PM
What I know of Joel is he won't tell his congrigation that there sinners because it makes them feel bad .Like most of the TV preachers and I use that with a little salt .They knowhow to  scam the flock.the Word tells us they will come as wolves in Sheeps Clothing .If theses  tv guys would use all the money that gets sent to them then we wouldnt have poverty in this country but look at what they live in .It ok to bee comfertable but million dollar mansions arenot needed.

22  Theology / Debate / Re: Once Saved Always Saved??? on: March 25, 2007, 10:41:45 PM
John 5 24 reads Truly truly, I say to you he who hears my word and belives in him who sent me  Has Eternal LIfe and does not come into judgement but has passed from death to life.The oppinion of those on this subject are great  to nuts. my thought is that I lean towards once saved always saved because there are a lot of verses that would make it seem that way  .One in mind is God s promise that no one can pluck you from His hand.with that said right on.no worries.
We all fail at some point for we are not perfect yet .Am I worried about my salvation or if I've done somthing that leads to death or lost salvation absolutly not
I am a new creature in Christ and though difficulties we grow in faith .the  spirit is with us well know when we fail and when we do'nt.Just to throw a little spin on the subject If once saved allways saved then do we lose free will.because if we cannot choose to turn away from God( why anyone would I don't know)
then we don't have free will and are not more than a robot.
 I have read stories of  those who had great ministries and left them and denounced God. are they still saved or was God using a nonbeliver to His advantage.Possible How about those who are in ministry and commit sin .is there salvation gone or have they neverbeen saved.
One verse Im thinking of is If you are saved you will not continue to sin.I've allways under stood that to mean habitual sin.I dont belive anyone can go through a day and not sin some way.or as i call it Insidental sin.it would be the type that once it happened you knew it.

23  Theology / Debate / Re: The "GRACE" Movement (Hot Potato!) on: March 25, 2007, 07:12:44 PM
I have info on the Grace move and Ill get it out andshare what it is but basically Because of Grace being free all you have to say is I belive and faith is not needed nor repentance
24  Theology / Debate / Re: ALPHA Program The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly on: March 25, 2007, 06:37:47 PM
The alfa course is something to be to be weary of.I heard about it 10 yrs ago on the bible answer man program in Cali at that time.
Its being promoted by a church in England that is a big  promoter of the holy laughter movement .My church that i was attending in Nebraska was looking in to the course.I did research on the course and asked the elders if they had done any research and they left it up to the pastor.(In my opinion thats not what they should have done,they should have looked into it.) so I went to the pastor and showed him my conserns for the course.I tryed to be a leader in the coures but the way I felt about it being a warm and fuzzy form a Christianity course .I couldnt  lead the way the pastor wanted  call sin what it is sin.Being a Christian is a daily battle against the Evil one.And a personnel relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord an Savior
