16  Welcome / About You! / Re: Hello, I am new here on: August 15, 2013, 11:55:40 PM
Here I am again, seems like forever since I have had time to stop in for a visit. Time seems to escape me anymore, with caring for my mom, and just trying to get things done. I have had the wonderful fortune this week to attend our churches bible-study in the local town park.

We met each night at seven o'clock, and sing songs with the children before moving off to our tent room class. Our teacher is a wise gentlemen from Lancaster, Pa., that has made the bible study interesting, as well as, informative. we have one more night and then we are back to Sunday services at the church.

I have been keeping busy with writing and sharing, and yet now and then get a yearning to stop by and say hello to all of you. I am hoping all is well with my friends on this site, as well as, with all those who visit here each night.

Those of you that know me or wish to make contact for a chat about life in this mixed up world, please post here and I will answer you. I remember when this forum was over-crowded and busy everyday. It would be such a blessing if all of you would come back again, if for no other reason then to say "Hello."    Smiley
17  Welcome / About You! / Re: Hello, I am new here on: April 05, 2013, 11:11:02 PM
Cheesy Yes, I am just a young thing to many of my older friends. I will never be old to them either. Many of my best friends are up in their eighties and I am not playing catch up. lol

Thanks you the Easter greeting. I spent the day with my mother and made us a really good boiled dinner with ham and dumplings. Then we had coffee and cake. It was even more fun when a friend stopped in and told funny stories that made my mother laugh which I had not seen in a longtime. So my day was perfect. Thank the Lord!

Has attendance here slacked off? I see so many of the thread posts are over a year old. It is kind of lonely here for you it would seem.    Huh
18  Fellowship / Just For Women / Where Have All The Christian Women Gone? on: April 05, 2013, 11:01:19 PM
A few years ago I was very active on this forum, and then between moving and getting settled I dropped off in my writing here. It would seem that I was not the only woman to stop posting here.  I got to thinking the other day that maybe all it takes is one person to get the ball rolling again where more women will stop in and chat about their life and how it relates to health and happiness, and belief in God.

In this day and age, we need each other more than ever to cheer up the lonely and the sick, to strengthen our beliefs in ourselves so we can fight against evil and protect our families and our children. Depression in women is big these days. We see the country or countries, we know and love being torn apart by hate and violence. We see racial divides that only serve to promote hate against neighbors and friends. We see belief systems that have been in place for hundreds if not thousands of years being ripped apart by self-interest groups, and we feel helpless to stop it all.

Freedom of speech is being replaced with keep your mouth shut. We fear that our country or countries, will end up in a state of unrest and overwheming homelessness and hunger. In some places Christian women fear for their very lives. So if this is not a time to band together and pray together, then I do not know of any better time in the future, do you?

Come and write here. Share your opinions and thoughts.  I will be waiting here for you, oh women of God!

19  Entertainment / Books / Having A Mary Heart in a Martha World on: March 20, 2013, 12:53:04 AM
My woman's bible Study Group has just started studing this book so I don't have a lot to say about it right now other then it really makes you think about what is important and why.

The book talks about Martha's reaction to Mary sitting at Jesus feet and listening to him speak instead of helping
Martha with the getting the house ready for their guests or helping to prepare the evening meal.

Martha is upset that she is not getting help and complains to Jesus. He tells her that Mary has made the best choice, which puzzles Martha at first. But she soon gets his meaning. Makes you think how each of us would have acted under those conditions and would we have been a Mary or a Martha?

I will write more about this book as we work through it.     Smiley

I am managing to stay warm. Nice warm longjohn pants and warm sweaters help. I also have hot water baseboard heat in this house and the biggest thing is getting used to the pings and bangs and water running through the pipes. Then there are the air bubbles and odd noises that go with a house in old weather that make you think you have a ghost or something rattling atround.

I like my house because I do not have to deal with other people that are not nice to older folks. Plus my last place had 34 steps to climb and that was hard on this old lady. Mostly carrying groceries up those stairs. But now I only have four short steps.

Been trying to remember where you all lived, some got it cold and some got it hot right now. If I was in FL it would we warm right now instead of 15 degrees.  But spring is on the way..  I hope!     Cool
21  Welcome / About You! / Re: Hello, I am new here on: March 20, 2013, 12:17:03 AM
Congratulations on the birth of new grandchild! And for the 40th time that your wife said you were a keeper!  lol

I don't have any amazing news to tell other than I am approaching sixty and I still can't believe I have managed to live this long. My brain still thinks I am much younger but my body thinks I am much older. I can't seem to convince either one of my right age.

The weather here was suppose to improve, but we got another snow storm today and the roads were bad again tonight. They said on the scanner the roads were like a sheet of ice. Don't bother me much as I can not drive at night due to cateracts. So I like sunny days the best. Springtime will be coming soon I hope.   Roll Eyes

I found your information quite interesting. New Age Religion has done such damage to the Christian community and most who are involved in it have no clue. Some preachers in our area have been brave enough to preach about this but most people are too blind to see the differences in the gospel.

Some other types teach people to look inside themselves for God. Others think they are Gods. It is such a mixed up affair that unless preachers stop it and tell people the truth more will be lost.

There is such a mixing of different religions with yoga and odd forms of meditation that lead us away and not toward Christ. With what is happening in our government today I am surprized more people are not flocking back to old time religion methods.

Good morning and afternoon to you all. I must go and get my cup of coffee that I sat down somewhere's in my house. It is a cold day here and a big snowstorm is moving through our area. I have been listening to my scanner and ham radio and the guys are talking about bad roads and flight delays, and lots of snow. I thought the groundhog said winter was about over.
Anyways, hello again. I am glad to be back. Best wishes for a safe and happy day to all of you!
Now where in the world is my coffee cup?  Huh
24  Welcome / About You! / Re: Hello, I am new here on: March 18, 2013, 02:12:18 PM
I am glad to be back. Thanks for the warm welcome from both of you. I am keeping busy writing on forums and blogs, trying to earn some pocket change. It is very time- consuming writing and the rest of the time caring for mom.
I am hoping to add some interesting topic's here for discussion, like the past years of posts. I went back to the begining and was really amazed on how much information is contained in all these 500 and some posts. I think I had more to say when I was in Florida. lol   Not that Pennsylvania, is boring, but I got out in the woods more down there.

The biggest news around here is our blizzards like today and the gas wells with that fracking business that often ruins peoples water wells. Can you imagine being able to light your water on fire? I would think it would make your whole house a time-boom, not funny but if you had that water in all the pipes and systems in your house it could be very dangerous. people are really worried up here about this type of drilling.

well that is my news update. see you around the forum. It is good to be back here.  Roll Eyes

Hello again from a weary stranger. Yes, I am getting stranger all the time it must come from old age. Just wanted to drop in and say I have missed you all and I am glad that coffee time is still here. At first the board looked a bit different until I realized hey, wait a minute you've been gone for 120 days. Whew! I am sure sorry to have stayed away so long when the need of faith and uplifting moments and verses, is so important in my Christian life right now.
I pray all are well here and hope to get in some good conversations with all of you again.
Been caring for my mother daily and it is very tiring and emotional draining, but the task is mine so I must continue on the best way that I can, See you around the forum.
26  Welcome / About You! / Re: Hello, I am new here on: March 16, 2013, 03:58:47 PM
This is sort of my page and since folks seem to like reading all the entries I figured maybe it was okay to keep it going.
It says I have been away for 120 days. Yes, this time it is true. Life keeps me so busy lately that it is a wonder I get anything done at all.
Been caring for my mother, and moved again to a tiny house on the edges of town. I have a big backyard that is up against the woods and a house that is the right size for me. And have the use of a car that makes getting places a lot easier.
It is snowing and cold today. I think they said 26 degrees. But I am warm and safe.
I hope all of whom I have chatted with in the past are still here. I will be going about the forum saying hello again. Hope all is well and your all doing well, and life is good. The way things are progressing and the evil that lurks every closer is good enough reason to band together and hold the fort. Sending out blessings to each and everyone of the Lord's faithful followers who are here on a daily or yearly (my case) lol , time frame.

Welcome to the forum. I liked what you said under my post and I hope you enjoy visiting here and posting often.
28  Welcome / About You! / Re: Hello, I am new here on: April 08, 2012, 10:27:08 PM
Angel44, It was so nice of you to quote my words from so long ago. I spent 24 years in Fl, before I returned home to PA. No more hurricanes, but now I have cold weather and snow. But through all the years my one constant has been my love for the Lord. The more I hear and read about Him and His life and promises to us, the stronger I become in my faith. And I think I become a better person for it. Please write here again if you choose to do so. Glad that you made it to the forum. I look forward to reading your posts.
29  Welcome / About You! / Re: Hello, I am new here on: April 04, 2012, 11:21:20 PM
Well it is my time to apologize. The cruel joke was on me, thanks to the post office, not the person whom I thought. The address was right but my package had been sent the wrong way. I was mistaken in what is allowed by media mail and so that is why it was returned to me. Of the hundreds and thousands of packages that go every day, mine had to be opened by a nibby post man. The cruel joke was it made it to the persons home town post office. Instead of asking her if she would pay the difference they returned it to me after three long days of bouncing it all over her state. So I ask the person if she would forgive me for the misunderstanding and if she still wanted her package I would send it out again. She did (praise the Lord), so off it went today. I am eating humble pie tonight but I am thankful the whole mess got straightened out. This was a week full of misdirections and confusing times, but all is well this evening. Wonder what tomarrow will bring? Hopefully it will be bright days ahead with not too much stress. I need a good long rest.

I am resolved to read over the resolved until every sentence is resolved into my thoughts and actions. I will be very busy the next few hours reading all of the resolved messages and enjoying every minute of it. Thanks to nChrist for sharing. I need to hear all of these tonight, to help my troubled soul.  Coffee in hand I am going to read each one. May God Bless You.
