1  Theology / General Theology / Re:Adam was not deceived... on: August 08, 2003, 04:35:51 PM
The context is that because Eve was deceived and Adam just followed her, we shouldn't allow women (who are so easily deceived proven by the example of Eve) to lead men (astray) in the church.
2  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re:Openly gay bishop--abomination that causes desolation?? on: August 06, 2003, 11:36:33 PM

I'm wondering amid the apparent wholesale determination of the homosexual bent, if one should really be saying anything at all anymore--that is, "do not cast your pearls before swine..."

In the spirit of "God gave them up to...." there in Romans 1...

My personal belief is that we should just shut up and live it to make everyone wish they had what we do. Like you said, we are just casting our pearls before swine.

Katherine,

Isn't the word abomination a little strong? (just kidding!)

Oops! Here's the story:

MINNEAPOLIS  — The Episcopal Church's (search) first openly gay bishop told Fox News Wednesday that he hoped the church would be strengthened by his confirmation, not split in two.

5  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Openly gay bishop--abomination that causes desolation?? on: August 06, 2003, 06:33:01 PM
God said that an abomination that causes desolation will be set up in the temple. The immediate prophesy was idols being set up in the 2nd Jewish temple in around 70AD. Does that take the form of a homosexual in the pulpit in the final days?
6  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re:Proof of scripture!!!! Praise the Lord!!! on: August 06, 2003, 10:00:00 AM
That proves nothing. My faith is the evidence of things unseen. My actions and attitude is the evidence of Christ in my life. Creation proves creationism. It doesn't need to be proven. We look ridiculous when combine unrelated numbers together to come up with unrelated answers. Just trust and obey and God proves Himself all the time.
7  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re:Diplomacy: Gays. on: August 06, 2003, 09:46:45 AM
The biggest mistake the Christian church has ever made is throwing out the OT. We've lost our heritage and the context of our faith.

"Progress"--that's what society calls the process of abandoning God's wisdom for human understanding. We'll be a great society when we learn to progress as a society without losing our heritage and understanding. God gave us wisdom and we have thrown it out because we chose not to put forth the effort to discover it. He told us certain things will bring destruction and we ignore Him.

I'm reminded of my three year old who argued with me when I told her where milk came from. It made no sense to her that it came from a cow so she didn't believe me. She was sure milk came from the fridge. Society has done the same thing. We had perfect wisdom and we threw it out because it was too difficult to understand. We threw out the God idea because we had no understanding of Him and chose to believe that unless we understand it, it doesn't exsist. Unless we see the consequences, it has none. We think we are our own creation, the world just invented itself. That's no less laughable then the fridge producing milk. Except, unlike my then three year old, we're gambling our eternity on it.  Shocked

Hi Sammy,

I hear the fastest growing market in Iraq right now is the sale of Saddam's home videos. Everything from him at his grandkids birthday parties to videos of torture session. My heart goes out to the victims of the war, but I think their are miniscule compared to the victims of the regime.
9  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re:Paul2's Pre-Tribulation Rapture pages on: July 31, 2003, 10:01:53 AM
There are Christians all over the world who are going through a tribulation of their own right now. Evangelical Christianity is already illegal in France (although it hasn't been enforced very much yet) and China is studying their new anti-cult laws. I think we know what happens to Christians in the Middle East. I am prepared for tribulation, whether it is the actual Trib or one like many Christians all over the world have endured. If we aren't prepared, we won't last when/if we have to face it and everything we've fought for this far will be lost. I've read Revelation and the spine of prophesy in the gospels--we are not promised protection in those times. I think we need to pray that we leave beforehand, but be prepared to endure it as if we know we will have to. In some shape or form we will have to.

I've heard the homosexual community say that they have received more freedoms under Bush than Clinton.

I think Bush said exactly the right thing in the position he was in. I admire him for mentioning the word 'sinner' in his statement. I think that took guts.

11  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re:The Noose Tightens(Gay Rights) on: July 30, 2003, 05:11:31 PM
First of all, Santorum NEVER compared homosexuality to those other acts. He was talking about the impact that changing the laws regarding sodomy would have on the laws regarding the other acts.

Secondly, Christians have a duty to stand up for what is right. We are the salt of the earth. But in the process we can't forget to DO what is right. It is not our place to condemn anyone to hell or to harrass anyone, it is however our place to judge between right and wrong, but most importantly, it's to show the love and compassion of Jesus Christ. I don't think Jesus would have treated the homosexual any different than the prostitutes.
12  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re:Get Chipped (tm) on: July 30, 2003, 04:59:24 PM
If the chip is the mark of the beast, what is the beast itself? Technology? Capitalism? A census (database) of some sort? Any ideas?
