Fellowship / Witnessing / Re: Witnessing - what it means!
|

I didn't mean that you have no understand concerning these things. Our circumstances differ. Also, our conscience is clear, and after doing all we can do; without compromising the word of God, we are standing, as we have forgiven them from the heart. They're not doing it to us but to Christ through us!
For 30 years they have known where we stood and heard the truth. They reject it and have always rejected it. They don't want to hear it anymore (is putting it mildly). We're not their saviour.
To say it as simply as I know how - we intend to do nothing! IF and when we should hear from them and there is a spirit of repentance in whoever contacts us, of course we're ready for reconciliation to THAT person. But after 30 years and knowing the flesh, knowing WHO I do, and knowing the scriptures well, we're not holding our breath... hope or no hope!
Pray for us.
Biff for Suzanne
Biff, I'm sorry to hear about what is happening with your family. But sometimes , as you and others have mentioned, we must just leave them in God's Hands. Sometimes when no Christian is around them or trying to witness to them, things will start to happen in their lives that will bring them to the point of knowing they need Christ to save them. Life without Christ can get very ugly at times....or at least not peaceful. We need to pray that the Holy Spirit will convict your family of sin. In the meantime, with God's help, live your life in peace and the love of Christ. God will work things out eventually.

Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re: D. James Kennedy suffers major heart attack

I've went to the Coral Ridge Website & this is the latest on D. James Kennedy:On Thursday, December 28, Dr. Kennedy suffered heart arrhythmia leading to cardiac arrest. He was given CPR and admitted to the hospital. He has since improved. On Wednesday, January 3 he underwent a procedure to implant a pacemaker/defibrillator and continues to make progress. I'm so glad that he's doing better. I enjoy listening to him Sunday mornings before I goto church.I believe what he stands for. I hope he is doing better, too. I always liked his sermons whenever I got to hear him.

Prayer / Prayer Requests / Re: Please pray for me

As Pastor Roger said, your husband is definitely abusing you....and not only verbally but emotionally. So I can understand why you are in depression.
First of all, realize that your husband is definitely not walking in the Spirit when he does this to you. Realize that he is the one with the problem....this will help you to start to feel better about yourself. I pray that your husband will be convicted of the way he is treating you, and that he will start to walk in the Spirit.
It is sad when people claim to be a Christian and are unkind to others. In the case of your husband, it seems he is treating others well and has a "good reputation".....but the Lord sees his heart and knows what is going on. Keep praying for him and love him in Christ, but do get some counseling. This will be a way for you to share your pain, and hopefully, the counselor can help you out of it. Keep us updated. God bless you.

Prayer / Answered Prayer / Desperately ill friend alright!
|
on: December 23, 2006, 08:05:31 PM
|
I requested alot of prayer for my dear Muslim friend who had emergency surgery in a 3rd world country (where she was visiting family). The doctors/hospitals are not very good there.
The surgery was successful but she had alot of bleeding afterwards. We all continued to pray for her....she has other health issues, so we were very concerned about her. Her husband called me today and said she is now recovering at home in Asia. Her little child is so happy to have her mother back. When she is stronger, they will return to the USA. Her husband says "Merry Christmas!"
I'm so grateful to God and to those who prayed for her.

Praying for you, too. It always helps me to know that God is always with me, no matter what I go through. Sometimes, too, it helps to reach out to someone else that is in need or lonely. God bless.

Please pray for my Muslim friend. She is having emergency surgery in a 3rd world country where she and her little girl were visiting family. The doctors/hospitals are not very good there....so please pray for her to come through this safely. She is young but has other health problems, too. She often has asked for prayer from us and even from our church.
Please remember her child and husband as well. Thanks much.

Fellowship / Witnessing / Re: LET THE SPIRIT LEAD
|
on: November 16, 2006, 03:23:42 AM

Yes, I agree it is most important to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in witnessing. Sometimes we might even need to keep quiet and listen to people, etc.....and then when the Holy Spirit leads, we can then help them to know Jesus Christ. I do not agree with forcing the Gospel on anyone....I think we should share the Good News of Christ in love, and we will see more results this way. And always acknowledge that it is the Lord's doing and not us, of course.
