1  Fellowship / Just For Women / How do you know when you've found the "one"? on: January 23, 2007, 12:51:54 AM
Hey there,

I would like to know, how do you know when you have found the one God intends you to marry??

Nearly 3 years ago I thought I did... I met this guy from my church and he is such an amazing Christian person.  It didn't ake long for me to have feelings for him, the thing is though I have had feelings for other guys before but with him it was totally different.  I know this might sound strange but my attraction to him was spiritual, rather than physical.   He doesn't believe in dating until he finishes his studies (which is this year) so I decided to not tell him about how I felt so I didn't put him in a uncomfortable situation, so I decided to wait.  I really believed this was from the Lord.  It was going great until another girl told him she has feelings for him and although they are not dating they have become an item.  He has a very good relationship with her.  It was very difficult for me to cope with so I sort of buried what I felt for him and left it to the Lord.  But we were recently on a camp together, towards the end of the camp there was a royal ball.  Out of all the girls on camp I was dressed very plainly, yet he pulled me aside and told me that I look really pretty and he was VERY serious.  Since then I have been very confused.  Am I reading too much into this?? Should I have told him years ago what I felt?? I've met other great Christian guys but none of them are him... I really don't want to do anything to ruin our friendship, so right now I am very torn.  I also more than anything don't want to act out of God's will... can anyone advise??
2  Fellowship / You name it!! / Displaying Christ in our daily lives... New Years goal. on: January 11, 2007, 04:17:58 PM
Hey all Smiley

Every day I am so reminded of the love of Jesus Christ... He is so very awesome there are few words to describe Him!!!

One thing that makes me very sad is that so many Christians don't display Christ in what they do, sometime they act the opposite to what Christ told us we should act.  Many Christians judge and critisize so easily rather than loving and forgiving the way Christ did.  So many times we destroy our witness to non-believers because of our poor behavior.  I believe that makes the Lord very sad Cry

My biggest goal this new year is to let Christ shine through me more than ever!! My new year's motto is not to practice what I preach but preach what I practice.  I have such a desire for people to come to Jesus and I believe it starts with us being living testimonies.

May God richly bless you all as you live by the example that Jesus set for us!!!!!  Grin

Hey all again Wink I know its been awhile since I've posted on this thread  Embarrassed

God has been giving me so much confirmation about praying for the media and hollywood... I really do believe something awesome is going to happen.  I'm not only just praying but I have the faith that people are going to find the Lord Jesus... I think film can become an awesome minisrtry to reveal God's love to the world... I have been called by the Lord to go into film making and I have a passion for it and I look forward to making some awesome Christian films!! Cheesy

But I keep being reminded to pray for actors, actresses, film directors and producers etc.  I realised God loves them just as much as He loves us... And who knows our prayers could bring them salvation Smiley And I think that would make my Daddy up in Heaven sooooooo very happy coz all He desires is that everyone on earth come to know Him.

I'm so excited about what the Lord is doing!! I just know we are going to see some awesome stuff happen  Grin
4  Entertainment / Animals and Pets / Man's best friend on: September 04, 2006, 01:05:17 PM
Hey all!

I grew up having dogs and recently my family and I moved to an apartment where no dogs are aloud Cry

I am really missing having dogs in the family, I just feel that dogs add something special to a family.  I think that the saying that dogs are a man's best friend is very true... Each dog seems to have it's own personality, it's really special... I am now already praying for us to find a house... the next dog that I want is a Siberian Husky Wink I've found this rescue center where you can adopt them...

But I guess what I actually want to say is that DOGS ARE AWESOME!!!:P

Isn't our God just so amazing that He has created such wonderful things Cheesy
5  Fellowship / Just For Women / Re: Is kissing before marriage bad? on: September 04, 2006, 12:51:00 PM
Thanks again for the input Smiley

I'm a very mature 18 year old... I've never actually dated before although I have come close to it and there have been guys that I have had feelings for but nothing has ever come of it which I believe is the Lord's hand... I am part of a young adults singles group which is a true blessing to me.  My biggest problem is I don't know how to deal with guys or the dating thing... I've always said that I don't want to actually date but I would rather like to go into a sort of courtship and get married... But I find that nobody around me takes that seriously and I do feel a kind of pressure to date...  I am praying for the Lord's guidance for me but I also find that because of the emotions I have on this subject it's difficult to hear the Lord's voice Undecided

I totally agree with you Pastor Roger... The media had such and influence on the youth of today and there are so many films that promote bad language, violence and in proper sex... I am really praying for a break through in Hollywood...

Hey out there!!

Can people please join me in praying for hollywood? I know this is the movie forum not the prayer but I think it is appropriate for this forum...

Many people have laughed at me because I feel the need to pray for Hollywood, but I feel that it is needed... What I'm doing is I'm praying for one hollywood star that I feel led to pray for, until the Lord leads me to pray for someone else...

Can anyone join me? Also can you share on this forum who you are praying for?

Here's mine...

I'm praying for Orlando Bloom... He is a Buddhist, but I saw an interview with him on Oprah and he seems to have such a wonderful heart, he just needs to find the true way...

Thanks so much for that! It really helped Wink

It's one of those topics that isn't really covered in detail... The whole dating thing is confusing to me, because I only want to do what God commands me to and I find that the worlds perspective on dating is quite different the the Christians perspective and often the two get mixed...

Hey out there Smiley

I have been pondering this question... Is kissing before marriage bad Huh

We all know that abstinance before marrige is what God commands us but what about kissing Huh

I have seen with some people kissing can actually lead to other things which are not at all good, but have also seen that in certain relationships kissing is just kissing... I am in a mixed mind about it Undecided

Can anyone share there thoughts?
