Bronzesnake. Brother, maybe I stated that wrong. I was primarily thinking about what I felt lead to do. It's a topic certainly worthy of discussion, but one I feel might lead me to anger. That's something I have been praying about for over a year, and the answer appears to be resisting temptation to become involved in the first place. You don't appear to have that problem, but it appears that Left Coast does. So, I'm thinking that a safe topic for Left Coast and I to discuss might be bird watching. It might still be a great discussion between you and John if he could cool things off 50 degrees below boiling. I think that most of us have buttons someone can push for high temperature settings. I'm trying to either break or short out my high temperature button. OR, maybe God will reduce my wattage some more. Love In Christ, Tom

Prayer / Answered Prayer / NO INFECTION!!
|
on: August 13, 2004, 03:15:51 AM
|
Brothers and Sisters, I give you my sincere thanks for your prayers. I have a concrete answer from my doctor there is no sign of infection back in my spine. I had a fairly lengthy MRI this afternoon and will see my doctor on September 9th about final results from all the tests. At this point, I already know that I will be around for a few more years. God has given me a peace now that I'm really not worried or scared about what the doctor might want to be done. Surgery is possible, but the peace God has already given me is more than sufficient for anything. My prayers were answered, and I give thanks for your prayers. I believe in the power of prayer. Once upon a time, I prayed that God would let me live long enough to finish raising my children. That would have been the year 2000. I'm a pretty bumbling, fumbling servant pretty often, but I don't think God is through working on me yet. Love In Christ, Tom

Evangelist Said:
God is. Man ain't. God loves. Man doesn't. Jesus Saves. Man can't do doodly. If man don't believe, he's toast. If man do believe, he's apple pie in the sky!
Brother, you are sounding more and more like a good, old-fashioned country preacher that folks in my neck of the woods would latch onto and keep. However, your grammar is far too refined. Have I thanked you recently for your web site? If not, THANKS!. I have received a blessing there and many ideas for my personal Bible study. I'll hire an English teacher to help you with your grammar. Her name is "Bubba Sue". Love In Christ, Tom

I may say some things you don't like, but please, if i ask a question, don't autumatically assume i am being snide, i'm not that sort of person. I'm certainly not here to disrespect Christianity or any other religion and if i see someone else do so i will comment on it. Anyway, i think i have said all i need to. Thanks Artputey Hello Artputey, Welcome!! I sincerely hope that your time on the forum is beneficial for you and for us. We will know by the questions you ask, as we've been here many times before. Very few were pleasant and most involved sport and mockery of us and our Lord. I plan to keep an open mind and hope for something different this time. Tom

Prayer / Prayer Requests / Prayer For Our Sister Reba
|
on: August 13, 2004, 01:03:19 AM
|
Hello All,
Please keep our Sister Reba and her family in your prayers. At this time, I will simply say these are hard times for her family, times that even the strongest Christian would have a very difficult time dealing with.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We pray that you give this family peace and comfort that only you can give during these difficult times. We give thanks that Reba is a strong Christian woman who will be a willing servant of YOU in helping her family. Father, we pray that you give her guidance, courage, strength, and wisdom to do YOUR WILL in a manner that will be most pleasing to YOU and of the greatest help to her family. We ask these things in the name of our precious Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Hello Felix102,
Brother, I will pray for you. I think it is a great first step to be so open and honest with your Brothers and Sisters about prayer for you. Regardless of how strong a Christian is, there are ups and downs in this short life. There are also times of health and times of illness. We are only weak humans, and we are all in desperate need of a Lord and Saviour. For those of us who have Jesus as Lord over our lives, we have a GREAT AND POWERFUL FRIEND who loves us and will walk every step with us, just for the asking. Brother, you and I have a big advantage over the lost. There most definitely will be times in all of our lives that we feel overwhelmed, times we feel anger, and times that we need to pray more and listen more to the leading of our Heavenly Father and the Holy Spirit. The answers for Eternity are in HIM.
Brother, please remember that the Holy Bible clearly states that Christians will suffer trials during this short journey on earth. Being a Christian and trying to let Jesus work in and through us is not easy, but the retirement plan is out of this world. I'm probably three times your age, but I must pray about anger and other weaknesses on a regular basis. I know that HE hears us, and I'm sure that HE realizes just how weak and helpless we are without HIM. I'm positive that HE wants to hear our prayers, and I'm positive that the love and fellowship with Christ grows stronger with each prayer. If nobody understands, HE DOES. If nobody cares, HE DOES.
Brother, our times of greatest trials, illness, and weakness can be our strongest times with and IN JESUS CHRIST, our Lord and Saviour. I will pray for you, and I know that you will pray about yourself. I pray that you will feel the Strength and Love of Jesus as you become stronger IN and WITH HIM.
Love In Christ, Tom

I've got the same one Brother! I have the New Testament with Strongs + his notes + the extra book of his notes on each word and the Old Testament with Strongs and his notes. Catch all that? Pretty helpful really. Yes Brother, I did catch all of that. Did I mention that I can put mine in however large a font that I wish? I do like using Strong's, and my software is gentle on old folks, the bifocal crowd. I use large fonts in all of my Bible studies. UM?? - Maybe it's time to get a new pair of bifocals. I did it with books for many years, but the adjustable settings on my computer have spoiled me. Love In Christ, Tom

Shylynne,
Your post brought back many sad memories of 25 years on the street. Police Officers see these kids every day, and there are very few smiles, regardless of how hard one tries. Some of the smiles take many years. In the meantime, you watch many of them destroy themselves, and the officer is viewed as the enemy. It's hard to put into words. Many of them are there because of their complete rejection of authority (parents) or the lack of authority from their parents. In the absence of Godly parents as role models, this world is a hard and unbearable place for children. In fact, many of their role models were the opposite of Godly parents, and many of them were neglected and/or abused for most of their lives. There are no quick fixes, and many of them will die or spend time in prison before they are 20. Many officers spend much of their off time in trying to help them, but most of them wind up breaking your heart. Between their parents and society, their hurt was for most of their lives.
Christians have the answer, but it is a difficult task, not for the weak or the faint at heart.
Love In Christ, Tom

DreamWeaver,
Brother, that's the best rating and what you want to hear. That means you should be immune from most of the bad things the Internet can do to your computer.
There is a completely free program that I highly recommend that closes some of the other "exploits" that can do all kinds of bad things to your computer. First, use of Christians Unite is completely safe, but you have to use the INTERNET to get here.
"SpyBot Search and Destroy" is an excellent and free program you can download from many safe software distributors (i.e. CNet, Tucows, NoNags, WebAttack, and others.
SpyBot Search and Destroy scans for and destroys trojans, hijackers, and other very dangerous uninvited guests that come into your computer from the Internet. There is an immunity option in the program that I also recommend. It actually blocks your computer from accepting most of the dangerous programs you can download from the Internet and not even know about them. Some of them are embedded in advertising and pop-ups. Again, I can say with certainty there is nothing dangerous on Christians Unite, but you do have to use the Internet to get here. I've used SpyBot Search and Destroy for over a year and have never had a single alert coming from Christians Unite. So, I must brag on ADMIN and say that he has done an excellent job in making Christians Unite completely safe to use.
Love In Christ, Tom

Kewl Tom!! Now if I knew how to use it LOL Love ya, \o/ MsGuidedAngel, I assume that you are talking about the results of the security scan. Any result less than complete stealth indicates problems. Most of those problems can be cured with a good firewall and a few changes in your system configuration. If you can't afford a firewall, don't worry. There are several excellent firewalls that are completely free, and they are reviewed on the same site. I currently use Norton's Firewall, and it came with a suite of Internet Security programs. It's great, but it costs $50. For free, I recommend ZoneAlarm, but Steve Gibson recommends several, including the free version of ZoneAlarm. I hope this helps some. Love In Christ, Tom

Oklahoma Howdy To All, Shields Up is a great place to find out about security on your computer and get quite a few excellent and free programs to help you secure your computer. Shield Up is famous for the on line security scan of your computer that lets you know about the security or lack of security about your specific computer. It is completely safe and free. You can also read some excellent security topics written by Steve Gibson. Steve Gibson is the security guru that Norton, McAffee, and others listen to. In fact, Microsoft is beginning to listen to him after he identified numerous gaping holes in the security of Microsoft products. Some of his tiny and free programs close some of these gaping holes. Please do Steve's free security scan with all of your security related programs running. I think you will be surprised. I do this once every month or two, as Steve continually improves his Shields Up security scan. http://www.grc.com/GRC stands for Gibson Research Company. Everything Steve writes is free, except his one program that pays all of the bills, Spinrite. So, you will see advertising on the site about Spinrite. Love In Christ, Tom
