56536  Theology / Debate / Re:Can God be worshiped with lies? on: November 14, 2004, 10:05:13 PM
Brothers and Sisters,

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are all names with Pagan roots, each an an honor to a god with a little "g", and that means nothing.

Every day belongs to the LORD. As an individual, I think that the Christmas issue is a silly issue to divide Christians. Christmas is just like every other day, as it can be used to worship Jesus, and it is by most Christians. I celebrate the birth of Jesus every day, and I give thanks for HIS perfect sacrifice on the Cross every day.

I will have Christmas in my family, and I will have absolutely nothing to feel any guilt about when the day is over. We will worship and praise God that day, and so will my church. In fact, my church will have special Christmas Services and special New Year Services. We will have a good time in the LORD.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Brothers and Sisters,

You are most welcome for the links. I subscribe to the Federalist Patriot Newsletter. It is primarily known for old fashioned, conservative, tradional, Christian American values. They have a few things I disagree with from time to time, but they are an excellent news source.

Tom

Hope this hasn't been posted before and i missed it, but if anyone wants a great web site for firefox extensions, just click the following link

http://www.extensionsmirror.nl/index.php?showforum=2

Sure it will keep you busy for a while  Grin

Joey,

Thanks for the link Brother!  This is all new to me. I can't believe how small all of the programs are for Firefox. Not only are they small, they are much faster than anything I used for IE, and there are no crashes anymore.

The extensions are tiny, but they work very fast and accurately. I'll have to go get that weather extension.

Thanks again.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Orion,

I will definitely keep Sharry in my prayers. I hope that you don't mind that I removed her last name. It sounds like this case may involve a criminal prosecution, so identifying the victim before possible prosecution might hurt the case or warn the offenders that something might be done in this case.

As a retired police officer, I have many horrible memories of children being abused, tortured, and killed. I also pray that justice will be done in this case.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Brothers and Sisters Using Firefox,

BB Code is another really neat extension for Firefox. It makes it easy and fast to use code that the Christians Unite forum software recognizes. It's a simple right click context menu for bold, italic, color, font size, and more. It works great, and you can apply what you want while you are typing. I highly recommend it for Firefox users.

The Spellbound spell checker is a must have also.

Tom
56542  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re:Missing threads??? on: November 13, 2004, 11:44:01 PM
Brothers and Sisters,

All of the threads that were reported as missing are back after ADMIN finished his work and reset the forum software.

This is simply another good time to say:

THANKS ADMIN!!!

If anyone else spots anything missing or not functioning on the forum, please report it.

Love In Christ,
Tom

56545  ChristiansUnite and Announcements / ChristiansUnite and Announcements / Christians Unite Hit on: November 13, 2004, 06:44:27 PM
Brothers and Sisters,

Christians Unite has been hit, probably by the mob of trolls that are mentioned in several parts of the forum.

Well over 100 obscene posts were made. I think all of those are gone. I feel very bad that any of you may have seen some of these obscene posts. ADMIN deleted them and banned some new users.

I hope and pray that no damage has been done to the forum in the way of hacking, deleting threads, or any other harm. Some of you did report some missing threads, and the missing threads mentioned are back after ADMIN did some work and reset the forum software.

Please keep helping us out by reporting bad posts and users. I wasn't kidding or exaggerating that there is a mob of over 200 people who absolutely hate Christians enough to kill us. We are working on a way to deal with this now. Law Enforcement may be involved in this shortly. I will be making a recommendation in the next several hours to ban user information already collected on 184 members of the mob.

In the meantime, keep helping by pushing the moderator button on bad posts.

We try very hard to keep Christians Unite clean enough for Christian families to use. Please accept my personal apology to anyone who read any of the obscene posts before they were deleted and the users banned.

I would also appreciate your prayers that God will guide us in preserving Christians Unite as a safe and clean place for Christian fellowship.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Brothers and Sisters,

We were definitely hit by some folks posting obscene garbage, but I don't know about any deleted threads. I hope and pray that we haven't been hacked again. It's possible that ADMIN can simply do some resets and the threads will be back. I'll try to figure out what's going on. Most of this had to have happened after I logged off and went to bed. I do have a pile of reported posts in my in box. So, I have to check those first. I'll try to get back with you when I figure out what's going on.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Saved_4ever,

Thanks again brother. I just added the new icons to my menu bar. This is getting easier and easier by the minute. I also installed Spellbound, and it works like a charm. Now I just need to have Firefox type for me.   Cheesy

Spellbound is much better than any checker I've had before, and it's tiny in comparison to the others. It also has an easy "add word to dictionary" function for Bible terms, old English, and Bible names that aren't usually found in regular dictionaries. COOL!

DreamWeaver, you must go to the Firefox extensions page to see all of the neat stuff you can add to Firefox. The best thing about them is small size, extremely fast, and I think it is all based on PHP.

Love In Christ,
Tom
56548  Welcome / About You! / Re:hello all on: November 12, 2004, 11:47:33 PM
WELCOME WES!!

I'm pretty addicted to fellowship with all of the sweet Christians here, and I hope you have the same addiction. Studying the Bible and worshiping Jesus is a happy and pleasant way to spend extra time.

I sincerely hope that you enjoy Christians Unite.

WELCOME SPUD!!!

It sounds like you have a very unique and interesting ministry. It sounds like a lot of pressure to do something so quickly while so many people are watching. Me, I color with my grandkids, and I still can't color within the lines.   Cheesy

I sincerely hope that you enjoy Christians Unite.

Love In Christ,
Tom
56550  Prayer / General Discussion / Re:Rejection on: November 12, 2004, 11:30:46 PM
Amen Brother Talmadge,

That was a great post, one we should all think about and pray about. I think you accurately described a huge failure that we all have from time to time. I would wish to be the first to admit that I fail far too often with Christian love, and I know that it hurts Jesus with every failure.

Brother, part of your post appeared to be pretty personal. I'm hoping that you haven't felt any rejection here. Or, maybe you were just using it for reflection and illustration. Regardless, you spoke the truth about a very difficult issue for all Christians. Jesus did love us enough to die for us, and Jesus has asked us to love others. Please send me a private message if you are having some sort of problem here and I'll try to help however I can. I know that we've had some pretty rough private messages reported here. I don't have access to private mail, and ADMIN doesn't look at them, so the only way we know about a problem is when someone reports it.

Brother, I've read all of your posts, and I appreciate your stand for Jesus. I also appreciate this post about Christian love. I do hope and pray that you feel most welcome here. You appear to be a very sincere Christian, and I hope you stay with us. We try very hard to keep Christians Unite a pleasant and safe place for Christian Family Fellowship, including children. We also have a large number of sweet Christians here who try to help ADMIN and the moderators preserve Christians Unite as a place suitable for clean, happy, and safe family fellowship. That's pretty difficult with 2600+ users and growing by the minute, but we have many Christians helping.

Love In Christ,
Tom
