56161  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re:70 WEEKS PROPHECY... on: January 19, 2005, 01:27:06 PM
Brothers and Sisters,

YEAH! We have the makings of another excellent and hopefully peaceful discussion.

I simply want to add two cents worth now and enjoy the discussion.

1 - The Kingdom of God and the Millennial Kingdom on earth are two completely different truths. Christians already belong to the Kingdom of God, and the Kingdom of God lives in our hearts. For Christians, JESUS is already the LORD OF LORDS AND THE KING OF KINGS. JESUS will most definitely rule and reign over the earth from the Throne of David at His appointed time, and that time is called the Millennial Kingdom or the Rule and Reign of Jesus Christ. It will be a literal Throne in Jerusalem and a literal 1,000 years starting after the end of the Tribulation Period. The devil will be locked away during this time.

2 - THE CHURCH WHICH IS THE BODY OF CHRIST and Israel are two separate entities which must not be confused. Almighty God has made specific promises to both entities, and understanding the difference is critical in understanding Bible prophecy.

Love In Christ,
Tom

1Corinthians 2:9  But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Brothers and Sisters,

I've always held the opinion that the Rapture will occur before the Tribulation period. However, I would quickly note that many sweet brothers and sisters in Christ have other views. This is a topic worthy of discussion, but not hatred or division.

I have many reasons for my views, but the biggest ones involve the SEALING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT of the hearts of those who love JESUS. In brief, the Bible clearly states that the Holy Spirit (RESTRAINER) will be removed from the earth. No power in Heaven or earth can break the SEAL OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. Many of us involved in this study already have many pages of posts that describe in detail the reasons for our views. If another brother or sister in Christ disagrees, we still love them the same.

Love In Christ,
Tom

1Corinthians 1:18  For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
56163  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re:Amazing coincidence? on: January 19, 2005, 11:48:51 AM

If the RAPTURE happens before the Tribulation Period, the 144,000 will not be raptured. Bible prophecy will be fulfilled to the letter. The 144,000 will not be a coincidence, rather a fact. The existence and purpose of the 144,000 will absolutely mean more than just something. They WILL carry out the plan and purpose of GOD at HIS appointed time.

Sry again but that makes no sense.  The rapture will happen before the tribulation period there is a biblical proof of that. (1 Thess. 5:9;  2 Thess 2:6-8) so if this is true which it is because its the Bible then those who are saved will be raptured including the 144,000 people in Isreal who are Christians.  Therefore its seen that God's remaining elect on thie earth that are Jews who have not come to Christ will become those 144,000 witnesses.

Let me state this more simply:

Regardless of events and timing of events, there will be 144,000 who will fulfill God's plan and purpose. All Bible prophecy will be fulfilled to the letter. If you disagree with this more simple statement, you will be disagreeing with the Holy Bible. If so, we can simply agree to disagree. I won't be debating a Biblical fact with you. If the 144,000 spoken of by Evangelist are the ones mentioned in the Holy Bible, they will fulfill prophecy to the letter, regardless of your agreement or disagreement. The only matter of discussion regards whether they are the 144,000 spoken of by the Bible. If so, their agenda is already set by God.

By the way, I believe in the RAPTURE of THE CHURCH prior to the Tribulation Period also. BUT, I don't think this should be a matter for brothers and sisters in Christ to go to war with each other for. I enjoy pleasant discussions on these matters, but they are not Salvation issues.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Acts 26:18  To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

SO VERY RICH (II COR. 8:9)

By Cornelius R. Stam

So rich, so very rich, was Christ
Through past eternity!
As God the Son, with God enthroned,
The Heir of all was He.
So poor, so very poor, did He
As Son of man become!
From manger birth to shameful death
Rejected by His own.
For us, ah yes, it was for us
He bore such poverty.
That we by His redeeming grace
Might be as rich as He!

Im sry but thats a nice coincidence but i doesnt mean anything because if they are Christians then that means they will be brought up with the Rapture.

CrystalClear,

Pastor Roger is quite correct. I said absolutely nothing about your service. In fact, I don't know if you served or not. If so, I have no clue about the character of that service.

I do know absolutely how you are serving on this forum, and that's what I based my comments on. I would go much further than saying that you have an attitude problem. Your running mouth is actually hurting our people in the Armed services and their families. The real Marines that I know would do much more than talk about your attitude if they heard you talking. If what you are saying now is a true characterization of you, you wouldn't make a good pimple on a real Marine.

IF you did serve as a Marine and ran your mouth this same way, you would be booted as unacceptable. We talk and act pretty nice here. I would NOT suggest that you go around real Marines and talk like you do here. I think there would be more than talking involved, and you wouldn't like it. Your words now are serving the enemy and hurting those who are doing the fighting and dying - AND their families. If you checked, there might even be some terrorist organizations who would give you a pay check for what you are doing now. Give them half a chance, and they'll try to recruit you. BUT, you are working for them free right now.

If Hinn said that I agree with you. I had no idea that he said anything like that. I stopped watching him or reading his books when it came out that he'd hired a women to claim she'd been healing. That is terrible and he still call himself a minister of the word. DISGUSTING!

Sister, there are quite a few so-called ministries who deny that Jesus Christ is Almighty God. Some of them are fairly large. The ones I am thinking about claim Almighty God, but they deny Jesus Christ. The largest example would be Islam, yet they call their God Allah. Our so-called ministries who teach that Jesus Christ was made into a God from an angel, just a man, just a prophet, or just anyone other than Almighty God manifest in the flesh are just as bad or worse than Islam. It appears that new cults are rising up on every corner who deny that Jesus Christ is Almighty God. On the surface, they may look somewhat reasonable, but there is much more to find out after they hook someone. I must repeat that I have no idea what Binny Hinn believes now. Only God knows the heart.

I think that one simple question is a wonderful test before anyone should listen to a preacher:

Is Jesus Christ Almighty God?

If their answer is "NO", they are working for the devil - plain and simple. We MUST remember that the devil can quote Scripture, and his deceptions are no less tempting than they've been for thousands of years. If anything, the devil's deceptions are better and more clever now than ever. The devil believes in Jesus Christ, but not as Lord and Saviour. Some people claim to have Jesus Christ in their hearts, yet they deny that HE is Almighty God. The devil does not want the lost to believe that Almighty God, made manifest in the flesh, died on the Cross for us. The devil loses totally when we believe that Jesus Christ is Almighty God and HE loved us enough to die for us. Jesus Christ, the CROSS, and HIM arising from the dead to be our Lord and Saviour forever is the devil's worst nightmare.

Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable GIFT, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour Forever!

Love In Christ,
Tom

Dreamweaver,

Grin  Brother, I'm almost sure that I remember hearing something about that in the news, but I was beginning to wonder.

By the way, just for information, terrorists are the ones who are killing Iraqi children, and they want to come here and kill our children AGAIN.

I simply want to take this opportunity again to thank the brave men and women of our Armed Forces for delaying the inevitable, more loss of innocents on our own soil. I have no doubt at all that God has been good to us, and God has given our leaders and our troops guidance, strength, and courage to protect our way of life. I pray that we never take for granted the freedoms we enjoy because of the blood, sweat, and tears of our Armed Services and the families who STAND TALL! behind them. Our children still go to school in relative safety because of them. In fact, every freedom we enjoy is because of them.

Hug and thank a soldier or a soldier's family member today. But for them, the children and the aged would also have to become soldiers. I pray that it never comes to that, and it won't if our brave young men and women serving have their way. If it does come to this, it won't be the fault of our heroes giving their all.

Love In Christ,
Tom

56171  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re:Who? on: January 17, 2005, 05:24:20 PM
Brothers And Sisters,

I don't wish to hurt anyone's feelings, but an opinion was asked for here. All I have is my own opinion, watching several of Binny Hinn's television programs, and reading a large number of articles about him.

I would first say that any man can repent, be saved, be changed, etc., so I have no idea if Binny Hinn has changed or not. If not, I would view him like a witch doctor at best. He has denied that Jesus Christ is Almighty God as a minister and has the reputation of a snake oil salesman. One of the things that bothers me the most is his lavish life and taking money from the poor. Had it not been connected to ministry, it would be criminal fraud, taking money on false pretenses.

Now, back to the original thought I tried to make clear:  I don't know the heart of Binny Hinn, and I have no idea if he has changed or not. My single biggest problem with him in the past is the denial that Jesus Christ is Almighty God. If one does this and calls themselves a minister, I would ask for who?

I hope this didn't offend anyone, as that was certainly not my intention. This is an important topic. If people are being ministered to from someone NOT of Almighty God, it is a worthy topic that needs to be discussed. This same topic came up in other threads, and many links have been given on this topic. I have no way of saying that everything I've read is absolute fact, but I do have enough to have a real burden on my heart about this topic. I would simply say that anyone who denies that Jesus Christ is Almighty God is a FALSE TEACHER who should be avoided.

Love In Christ,
Tom

56172  Theology / General Theology / Re:Walking in the Spirit? HOW on: January 17, 2005, 05:05:46 PM
Brother Gary,

I can't fast because of medicine I have to take to survive. There are other things that can be done that I highly recommend. Turn everything off, shut the door, and shut out the world completely for a quiet time with JESUS, prayer, and reading the Holy Bible. This is not so easy to do for people who are raising young families, but it may still be possible in the middle of the night. I think that all Christians should make this the highest priority of every day.

I think that the important thing is regular private time with the LORD in complete quiet. I think that most would really be surprised how refreshing it is to make this happen every day and be determined that this time will not be given up for any reason. If someone or something interrupts this time, one simply needs to try again latter and count this time as precious. I know that the same is just as important for your spouse. If you are blessed to have a Christian spouse, you can help each other make sure that you both have your private and quiet time with the LORD.

Love In Christ,
Tom

"I assured the American people that I will remain firm and committed to fighting and winning the war on terror. We will deploy assets to defeat people before they come and hurt us. I believe that we are in a global war against an 'ism' that can be defeated, and must be defeated. One way you defeat them is to find them and bring them to justice. That's why we need good intelligence, the capacity to move quickly, a military that understands the stakes and is preparing the troops to meet the challenges. The other way is to spread freedom. And I believe that...free societies will be peaceful societies."

Chicken With Three Legs:

There was the guy driving along the highway at 40. A chicken was keeping up with him and the chicken had three legs. He increased speed to 60 and the chicken was still running alongside. He then increased his speed to 80, and the chicken sped up and cut across in front of him and went up a side road. The guy was intrigued by all this, so turned around and drove into the side road which ended in a farmer's yard. The farmer came over to the car and asked if he could help. The motorist asked if he had seen a three-legged chicken come through his yard. The farmer said he had and, as a matter of fact, he and his sons had bred the chickens to provide three drumsticks.

"How are they?" asked the motorist.

Replied the farmer, "WE don't know, we've never been able to catch one of them!"

Two Minutes With The Bible - Growing Old Gracefully

Growing Old Gracefully

By Paul M. Sadler, President

Scripture Reference:

"Rebuke not an elder, but entreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren; the elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity."    -- I Timothy 5:1,2

The Apostle Paul deals with many different types of relationships in his epistles, but perhaps the most delicate relationship is with those who are older in years.  Like the seasons of the year, each of us gradually grow older until we find ourselves in the winter of our lives.  The first 70 years are normally filled with vim and vigor as we fulfill the desires of our heart.  But if by reason of strength we survive beyond this point the Scriptures indicate that the days ahead are going to be filled with labor and sorrow.  Labor, in the sense that even the mundane things of life, such as rising from a chair, becomes burdensome.  To complicate matters further, sorrow surrounds us like a tattered garment as death robs us of those we love.

Little wonder that Paul admonishes us to esteem the senior members of the Body of Christ as fathers and mothers.  Their plight deserves our sensitivity and their years of experience our respect.  Furthermore, it will serve us well to remember that someday soon we will be the patriarch or matriarch.

In Ecclesiastes wise old Solomon, stricken in years himself, describes the aging process that creeps up on us like the leopard that stalks its prey.

"Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them" (Eccl. 12:1).

Someday the grim reaper will stand at the foot of our deathbed and the "mourners [will] go about the streets" whispering: Has he passed on? Beloved, there are thousands of ways to leave this earthly tabernacle, but perhaps the most common today is when the "pitcher is broken at the fountain."  In short, a fatal heart attack.

"Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it" (vs. 7).

The sting of death is sin, but thanks be unto God that Christ died for our sins thereby removing its sting.  Thus, according to Paul's epistles death is merely a passage way into eternal life for all those who believe (I Cor. 15:55-57; Heb. 2:14,15).  No one looks forward to growing old, but hopefully we will do so gracefully and with dignity. As they say: "There is nothing to fear, but fear itself."  The blood of Christ is our eternal life insurance policy which has a rider guaranteeing our future resurrection!
