Learn any new tricks yet  Huh

Shylynne,

Not yet sister, but I do have a new program I'm playing with. I just don't have the money for Paint Shop right now. I read something about a free program from Goggle called Picassa, and I'm going to try it. The reviews say it is excellent, and it is supposed to have the horsepower to resize the actual photo, change the pixel count, and greatly reduce the size of the file. If I can get the file size down to 60K or less, I don't think that ADMIN would shoot me.   Cheesy  If I posted the huge files I have now, ADMIN would arrange an immediate firing squad.

By the way. I am presently building a web site which, among other things, presents strong, clear evidence for creation and against evolution.

As soon as it's complete, I will invite you to visit and learn the real facts, as opposed to the garbage and outright fraud you have picked up in school.

Bronzesnake.

Brother, I remember many of your excellent posts on this subject in the past. Please remember me when things get close. I would absolutely love to do another study on Almighty God's Creation. Every time I open my eyes, I see HIS MAJESTIC WORKS.

My Brother, there is no rule here that prohibits telling the facts of God's Creation. In fact, I think this would be a fascinating Bible study in the Bible Study area. However, the evolutionists would not be permitted to argue against your Biblical stance. Christians Unite would then represent the opposite of what is being done in schools with our children. Evolution is crammed down the throat of our children in school and Biblical creation is banned. You could lock the thread to prevent curious monkeys from pawing out a monkey's response.   ;D

Brother, the facts of God's Creation are always welcome on Christians Unite. Brother, I'm also sure that you can and will honor God with your writing wherever you post it.

Love In Christ,
Tom

I am sorry but I don't really understand what is going on in this thread. Quite a few harsh words are going on but the questions asked are those that I wonder about, as well. I wonder about many things, that is why I hope to learn here.

Kittiara,

It isn't just this thread, rather it is every thread Sleeker has become involved with since his or her short arrival. He or she and several others made a specific point of violating the forum rules after repeated warnings, and they are gone. You don't see the deleted posts, and you might not recognize the modified posts. They were a gang of trolls, and there has been a magic act - They disappeared!

The moderators here are not required to do constant babysitting with those who are determined to violate the forum rules after multiple warnings. This little gang tried pretty hard to get banned, and they succeeded.

I think you would be hard-pressed to find even a single one of our Black brothers and sisters who would prefer to live in the United States of 50 years ago.

This is around the 50th anniversary of the birth of the Civil Rights Movement, which most historians say began with the national reaction to the murder of a 14 year old black boy, Emmett Till, by a gang of white men and women in Mississippi. Two men were tried and though the evidence of their guilt was overwhelming, they were acquited.

The America of 50 years ago was, for many Christians, an ugly place indeed.

Dyskolos,

WOW! - You have one example of moral progress. Do you have another one?

There isn't room here to list the areas of moral erosion. If you think that the morals of today are higher than they were 50 years ago, you couldn't be older than 10.   ;D

Tom

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE RESURRECTION

By Cornelius R. Stam

In his great Epistle to the Romans, St. Paul introduces himself immediately as "a bondslave of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle," to proclaim God’s good news about Christ. Paul’s "gospel of the grace of God" was essentially about the Lord Jesus Christ. He was always talking about Christ. His epistles are filled with Christ. Christ, in his message, was everything. This is in striking contrast to much of our modern preaching and evangelism, which is not Christ-centered, but man-centered.

The gospel Paul proclaimed was God’s good news about Christ and His power and glory in defeating Satan, overcoming death, paying for sin and nailing the Law to His cross.

This is why the Apostle calls his message "the good news of the glory of Christ" (II Cor. 4:4). To enter experientially into the truth of this good news is the greatest blessing one can possibly experience.

In Verse 4 of his introduction to the Roman Epistle, the Apostle declares that Christ was powerfully declared to be the Son of God "by the resurrection from the dead." The resurrection of Christ had been both prophesied and proclaimed as a historical fact before Paul, but to Paul was committed a special message of good news concerning the resurrection. In his God-given message, Christ was raised from the dead to demonstrate that as God the Son He had paid the full penalty for sins that would have sunk a world to hell. Thus the Apostle writes to Timothy, his son in the faith:

"Consider what I say, and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

"Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David [this is how Christ had formerly been known] was raised from the dead according to my gospel, wherein I suffer trouble as an evildoer, even unto bonds" (II Tim. 2:7-9).

Read the Epistles of Paul and see how salvation by grace through faith always hinges upon the finished work of Christ for our redemption. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved."

TWO ASPECTS OF CHRISTIAN LIBERTY

By Cornelius R. Stam

"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free... If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed" (John 8:32,36).

The true believer in the Lord Jesus Christ enjoys glorious liberty, and our Lord Himself said that there are no strings attached... "Ye shall be free indeed," free even from the most oppressive of all slave masters: sin. While the Law never saved one man from sin, the Lord Jesus, by His death on Calvary did, for we read that "Christ died for our sins." Therefore the Apostle wrote by divine inspiration: "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage" (Gal. 5:1). His letters thunder severe rebukes against believers who "desire to be under the law." To the Colossian Christians he wrote:

"Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holy day, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days; which are a shadow of things to come; but the body [substance] is of Christ" (Col. 2:16,17).

But true liberty is used for good, otherwise it only reverts to bondage again, for whatever overcomes a man becomes his master (II Pet. 2:19), and doing evil can only harm ourselves and others. Thus the Apostle says further:

"But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to those who are weak" (I Cor. 8:9).

"For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another" (Gal. 5:13).

"...Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth" (Rom. 14:22).

"America's vital interests and our deepest beliefs are now one. From the day of our Founding, we have proclaimed that every man and woman on this earth has rights, and dignity, and matchless value, because they bear the image of the Maker of Heaven and earth. Across the generations we have proclaimed the imperative of self-government, because no one is fit to be a master, and no one deserves to be a slave. Advancing these ideals is the mission that created our Nation. It is the honorable achievement of our fathers."

"We have seen our vulnerability -- and we have seen its deepest
source. For as long as whole regions of the world simmer in resentment and tyranny -- prone to ideologies that feed hatred and excuse murder -- violence will gather, and multiply in destructive power, and cross the most defended borders, and raise a mortal threat. There is only one force of history that can break the reign of hatred and resentment, and expose the pretensions of tyrants, and reward the hopes of the decent and tolerant, and that is the force of human freedom. We are led, by events and common sense, to one conclusion: The survival of liberty in our land increasingly depends on the success of liberty in other lands. The best hope for peace in our world is the expansion of freedom in all the world. ... Today, America speaks anew to the peoples of the world. All who live in tyranny and hopelessness can know: The United States will not ignore your oppression, or excuse your oppressors. When you stand for your liberty, we will stand with you. ... The survival of liberty in our land increasingly depends on the success of liberty in other lands. The best hope for peace in our world is the expansion of freedom in all the world." --President George W. Bush, Inauguration Day 2005, an "American Revolutionary" as Time magazine noted when naming President Bush its 2004 "Person of the Year."

Musiclover,

Sister, we know that Almighty God does not have everlasting mercy and patience with those who defy and disobey Him. The record of the Great Flood is only a small example of God's Wrath. All of the examples of God's Wrath in the past are tiny compared to what is to come. There are many who appear to laugh in HIS FACE while they defy HIM. Their judgment will be beyond human imagination.

Our Heavenly Father is absolute RIGHTEOUSNESS, and HE should be feared along with our love. We are made fit for inheritance ONLY because of the precious BLOOD of JESUS. We actually deserve the terrible Wrath of Almighty God, but JESUS CHRIST has rescued us from the curse of sin and death. The day will come when those who walk in darkness will face HIS terrible Wrath for eternity. Those who love JESUS and have HIM in their hearts have already been rescued from the terrible wrath that will most certainly come. The teaching of the Cross is foolishness to some, but to us, JESUS and the CROSS are the reality of HOPE that is within us, eternal life with our Lord and Saviour forever.

Those who laugh at and defy Almighty God are objects of great pity.

Love In Christ,
Tom

What ever happened to geography in the "National Geographic"?

Ollie,

I've wondered the same thing. I remember the National Geographic being one of the few magazines we had in our home 50 years ago. Someone from church bought a subscription for us. In fact, it was commonly used for education by nearly everyone from time to time. I guess that it now represents the horrendous erosion of the moral fabric that our society was once associated with. If you took a Christian who died 50 years ago and let them spend 10 minutes of one day now, they would think that America has ceased to exist. It would be impossible to imagine their shock and disbelief about what America has become. Would they think that America was invaded and conquered by some foreign evil power, or would they recognize the devil's work?

Love In Christ,
Tom

AMEN BROTHER JOSHUA!

I prayed for President Clinton every day that he was in office. He was not my choice, and he did many things that most Christians feel was an embarrassment to the entire world. But, that didn't change our prayers for him.

If Kerry had been elected, I would be praying for him every day, regardless of my agreement or disagreement with what he stands for.

President Bush was my choice, and he was elected. He deserves the prayers of every Christian every day, regardless of agreement or disagreement. Obstructionists do nothing but hurt our country. There will be another election in 4 years, and we should be praying for our President during those 4 years.

Love In Christ,
Tom
