16  Theology / Debate / Re: JEHOVAH WITNESSES on: August 19, 2006, 09:58:31 PM
I had the TRAVELING DUO at my door today. I refused to answer but my daughter said she would, and tell them that we were CHRISTIAN. Thank usually sends them running but, in this case, they said, WE ARE CHRISTIAN TOO! Um...maybe I am reading into their book and pamphlets wrong. Christian is something they are NOT! CULT, they are. (have 3 relatives that are JW's..nothing Christian about them at all..right down to beliefs).

Their pamphlets do help with starting firewood or the charcoal though. Smiley

Okay...I AM TELLING! Nya nya nya *picks up phone to call all wives*  Tongue

I only watch TV once a day..mostly shows that I enjoy, like MONK, some BBC shows and some Law shows. I don't what anything that has profanity in it, and forget the sex factor (I think that is a reality show these days). My kids have more blocked stations than they don't.

I blocked MUSLIM TV as well==now, to block ALL SPORTS CHANNELS!!!! Smiley

Blessings Tim!
Okay, I must be a stick in the mud (if we had any mud, due to the heatwave in Kansas). I still think all these things happened throughout history, from Earthquakes, to volcanoes, astoroids (and now, space junk is falling), floods--wars; do you ever remember a time when someone wasn't having one, somewhere? If there wasn't a war, someone started one, it seemed, just to keep busy.

In my lifetime, I have seen our world atlas turn into a bunch of countries that are no longer there. I witnessed Mt. St. Helen's erupting, Mt. Popo (only know Mexican name, since I lived behind it when I was in Puebla) erupting in Puebla, Earthquakes in California (when isn't there one?), Tornadoes everywhere (me included), Hurricanes (been there--lived in Massachusetts, Hurricane Bob is the call to fame for my first born child..hee hee). There is the space shuttle incident, Oklahoma City Bombing..and I know I am missing TONS of events during that time period. Truthfully, I can't see one part of history where our earth wasn't in some sort of a mess, naturally or by man's own hands.

I lived in Vegas for many years. If that isn't the original city of sin, I don't know what is. Yet, I heard everyone here talking that, New Orleans was being "paid back" for all it's sin. When Vegas becomes ocean front property, I will worry but until then, I will just do as Jesus tells me to do, and keep looking up, awaiting His arrival. If I don't see Him come here on earth, I know for SURE I will see him when I go to heaven.

What was my point, anyway? If anyone has a clue, let me know. Sometimes, I just like to hear the sound of my fingers typing. Smiley

Kelly
19  Theology / Debate / Re: Identificational Intercession on: July 17, 2006, 01:48:29 PM
Amen Pastor Roger!!!

When I went in and found my mother dead, I prayed for her soul. Granted, it was too late but I didn't know if she believed in Jesus or not. Such things, growing up were not discussed by her. She was bitter at the Catholic Church for casting her out of their rituals, due to her being divorced during the time when it was not accepted (unless you were rich, like a Kennedy..then it seemed okay).

Because I was brought up believing in a purgatory, and that you had to put money in a collection box for these souls to be prayed for, I did so. It was years later, when I was born again and accepted Jesus as my Savior that I understood the truth.

Either you have accepted Jesus or you have not. I don't know what happens at the last moment of passing but I do hope that some have had a chance to accept Jesus in time to be saved. However, only God knows the truth and I trust in His Judgment, for it is Perfect.

God BLess,
Kelly
20  Theology / Debate / Re: Identificational Intercession on: July 17, 2006, 10:47:47 AM
Hello and Welcome!
I have been called to be an intercessor and have been interceding for others for some time now. I do agree with the definition given for Ident. Intercession--you are supposed to become deeply in the Spirit when this happens, and you pray for souls, past and present, sinners that might not have accepted Jesus, past sins, etc. It also involves the present as well, in which you supposedly become one with God and identify feelings from Him to pray for involving those you either know or not know.

I can tell you that, as an intercessor, I need no label. Interceding needs no identification, but the presence of the Holy Spirit. When I am praying, I can tell when I am praying myself or in the Holy Spirit. When in the Holy Spirit, I tend to be so deep into prayer that feelings of others come up, as well as things that might not have been discussed in requests coming up from God to pray for. I have felt emotions, pain, as well as needs to pray for areas in other's lives, even when they have not asked for prayer in that area. When I pray with my own heart, I concentrate only on the situation at hand, and do not focus enough on the Power of our Mighty God.

When called to intercede by God, I had been praying for myself, my family and for current tragedies in our lives that surrounded us. Since interceding for others, I have seen such a change in our own lives and miracles happening in our lives every day. What you describe happening to you happens in any intercession--for our God is faithful and True. Ask, and you shall receive. You only need to believe that you will receive an answer.

God Bless,
Kelly
21  Theology / Debate / Re: Ready or not, Israel is coming. on: July 16, 2006, 09:36:15 PM
Close to 2000 years ago, the apostles believed that they were in the end of times.

As everyone has said, no One..not even Jesus Himself knows when this will happen. The point is to always be ready--always looking up, and to take your life here on earth seriously, and do His Work until the day when we are called to our Glorious Home, worshipping our Lord forever!

God Bless,
Kelly
22  Theology / Debate / Re: Most Haunted on: July 16, 2006, 09:31:43 PM
Okay--again, I might get pies thrown at me..and maybe a few with some very hard peanuts inside (thankfully, I am not allergic).

I believe that God has some that are gifted..but not as mediums, but with prophecy. How they choose to use that gift is another thing. Von Prague, for one has a very good talent, but he uses it for money and I believe deceives many with their hopes for answers to questions left behind. I believe any one that might have this gift from God should not use it to gain wealth, but as any gift given from God to help others in a humble way (as in police searches and such).

Sylvia Brown is the biggest nut I have ever seen. I can't stand her, nor can I understand how people actually believe her. She sits there and gives names to so called spirits, and people actually believe her ("the spirits name is sabrina and she lives in the crack of your walls, eating dust mites"..yeah, right).

I don't believe that these so-called spirits are people if a gifted person uses prophecy to help the police. I do believe they are being guided by a special gift by God. I also believe most are fakes, except for the few that truly are gifted and use that gift to help others for His Glory. The rest, like Edwards, Von Prague, Brown and so many other names...well, they will end up in a place where they can all eat dust mites together some day..if you catch my draft (which is a drift, but bigger from the hole in my head).

God Bless,
Kelly
23  Theology / Debate / Re: Time on: July 16, 2006, 09:22:07 PM
Personally, I agree with the OT and NT being two different books, and the OT being meant for the Jews of that time, as Christians were not, as of that time (obviously).

I am just starting studies in theology, so I am reading closely the OT now. I can say this: I am forever grateful for Jesus coming to us, Praise God. In the OT, women are viewed badly in many ways. EVERYTHING, pretty much for a woman needs cleansing time--or a woman is really in seclusion pretty much most of her life in the OT. This bothers me a bit, but I have it on my list to consult with God, when I get there. I don't understand how, women--being the only bearer of life, since man couldn't possibly bear life without her ability to give birth--can be so dirty after natural things happening because of this ability.

Praise Jesus for so many things changing with His birth, life, death and resurrection. I love the OT--I am enthralled with the story of David in Samuel right now. But, I do have issues with the OT and how many "sins" women have in there.

Um, I do believe I got off subject a bit but..hey, I am old.

God Bless,
Kelly

No sister, you don't have to wear a dress.

PS Nice work on your website Kelly.
LOL on the dress..trust me, you would hand me the jeans after I put it on.

Thanks for the comment about the web site bro. God takes the Glory on all of it though. Had He not held my hand and led me during the time when I lost my son (and my faith as well), it never would have been done. I might have turned away from Him but He never turned away from me. Praise Jesus!

God Bless,
Kelly

It's okay Pastor, I look in the mirror, see chin hairs and consider shaving. Smiley (Age didn't come so gracefully here).

The thing with me is that, I see so many that are citizens, breaking the laws or living off our system (aka welfare) and then see immigrants come in, work long hours for hardly any pay, living in filth, yet are better citizens than some that are already here. We also have terrorists, born and raised here--and many of them. They are Ku Klux Klan members, or one of our most "famous" ones, Timothy McVey (spelling is to be excused, for lack of brain cells still generating). I am not saying we should just open up the flood gates but, everyone should have a chance at freedom, the way our parents and grandparents did. Because of laws in place today, many have to find that freedom in other ways. We also have many legal immigrants that come in and are terrorists as well. I don't see a simple alternative.

I guess I have this crazy dream that, one day we will all live together as one and not have to show our passport to be accepted. We just have to show that our name is on the Book of Life, and all living together freely as God intended us to do.

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free".
Not to mention a blood sample, a urine sample, references on your entire family tree and their family tree, and all the money you have so we can make sure we can pay the rich politicians that are against you being here in the first place.

No, I am not one of those nuts that carry rifles and make their own laws. I just think we sometimes forget what America is all about--right down to In God We Trust.

God Bless *and I see that egg behind your back*,
Kelly

Tiptoes in...

Brother? Um...I must start wearing dresses so I am better known! LOL (Am a sister).

Too bad the Native American's didn't use the same policies though. Our first ancestors would not have been here.

We have legal camps for the Native American's as well--only crime they committed was to live here BEFORE anyone else came in. They call those camps, reservations.

Runs out even quicker (not a fan on how immigrants are treated these days..can you tell?)

28  Theology / Debate / Re: Racism and Abortion go Hand in Hand on: June 29, 2006, 03:47:13 PM
I grew up in the inner city, in a place called Lowell, Massachusetts (home of Betty Davis, Whistler and Ed Mcmahon--okay, so we dont pride ourselves on Ed too much). The city is called a melting pot do to it having so many nationalities and sections that boast ethnicity. I saw both of these topics in full view for most of my life.

Racism is a learned trait. Abortion is murder. Racism can be conquered if eyes and hearts are opened with the faith of a child--for as children, we didn't have racism, but our parents would teach it to us by their words and actions. I praise Jesus for having my grandmother raise me, who was not in the slightest bit prejudice. My mother, on the other hand was and, had she raised me I would have felt the same way she did. As a child, you follow the examples of your parents and how they feel and react to situations.

Abortion, in most cases where I grew up was done out of fear. Young girls did this so their parents would not find out. There were incidences of it being used as birth control as well. Even the most devout Catholic could be scared by "freedom of choice", and the wrath of their parents into having an abortion. As you closed in with bigger cities where prostitution and such, it was used as type of birth control.

However, unlike prejudice which can be changed with open eyes and open heart, once you have an abortion, there is no turning back. It is murder and it is final. There is no comparison between the two except--

Both are against the laws of God and teachings of our our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Kelly
29  Theology / Debate / Re: The Rapture....does it matter to me? on: June 29, 2006, 03:27:35 PM
Blessings to you!

I have some time between mission work and thought I would check in.

Yes, this seems to be very popular for debate and discussion at this time, both on news stations and at churches, as well as Christian chat rooms online.

I tend to not listen to ones that watch the "signs" and tell me when they believe this will occur. I read the Bible. In Revelations it clearly states that, only God will know the precise time, and I will wait on Him. I haven't stopped looking up, waiting for the glorious day when Jesus returns but I concentrate on doing His Work that He planned for Me, for His Glory, and not on when He will come back. Even after Jesus' resurrection, the disciples believed that THEY were in the end of times. Although there are many signs today, there were also just as many back then. We should just stay focused on Him, His Work, His Word and helping the lost souls to find Him and follow His Ways.

I figure it this way: I know where I am going, no matter when it happens, so I am not concerned when that will happen. God will reveal that to us in His Time. I have Faith in His Promise and can't wait to rejoice in His Radiance, Worshipping Him for all eternity!

God Bless,
Kelly
