Theology / Debate / Re: Exercising your body

3. Pick a piece of scripture or maybe a hymn or just think about Jesus and meditate on it. Remember, replace bad habits with Godly habits. Soon the everlasting joy from the Godly habits will make you cringe at the thought of the momentary pleasure the bad habits bring. Close enough

Lots of good points being made here, so I think I'll throw in my opinion if you no one minds. Some of my best moments with the Lord have been spent on my morning jogs. So quiet and peaceful, plus the conversation and praying makes the run go much quicker. My newest idea actually came from DW after reading a post on this site, so now I like to memorized a passage from the Bible and go through it several times while I"m jogging. I'm learning, at least at this stage of my life, that everything I do during the day should revolve around the Lord, why not just incorporate the two. Exercise also clears my mind, so when I do sit down with the word of God, my head is in a much better place. This is just what I found with myself. I"m sure its different for all of us. I do agree that you most certainly cannot neglect the Word, prayer, ex................if you do, no exercise in the world is going to improve your health!!!!!!!! Peace to you all! -AM-

I believe that my two cats have acquired this hand book. Now if I could only locate and destroy it. I see under section three they have forgotten to add "play with the spring loaded door stopper for the entire night." They seem so fascinated with the nose it makes.

Theology / Apologetics / Re: Setting Dates To Gods Word!

DW, I can say that this subject has been weighing on my mind as of late. I have felt the need to pray often about it. I sincerely hope that Christians are not putting their faith in a date or time, but keeping their eyes and faith focused on the Lord himself. 2 Cor 5:7 (we walk by faith not sight) Jn 20:27-29 (how blessed are they who have not seen but believe) Heb 11:1,6 (Assurance of things hoped for conviction of things not seen) You get the idea I'm sure. Personally I do not need any earthly, physical evidence produce by the minds of men to tell me when certain events are to occur, to assure me that the Lord has gone to prepare a place for us and will soon return. That which the Lord has said will be fulfilled. Until that time, I will continue my walk here on earth, praising God the very best I possibly can, oh and reading some thought provoking posts on this site

Brother, under normal circumstances when you can't wake up it's usually cause you are asleep, so if you are already asleep then you would be getting some sleep. I think the above says it all sister

I once heard that if you poor a little cold water around the outside edge of the coffee, it will make all the grounds go to the center of the cup. Not perfect, but at least they are concentrated to one area. Although I'm not sure what you do with "chewy" coffee

Yup, that has happened to me. I also have a habit of not pushing the filter all the way in to the lock position, which results in brewed coffee all over the countertop, which is not good coffee by any means.

Amen! Allinall that is wonderful. This is very much the same way that I was saved. I remember it distinctly to this day. I was four years of age and my mother had the duty of performing very much the same task as you. I remember asking Jesus into my heart and distinctly remember knowing that is where he "lived." I turned to him often in my childhood and even more as I grew older. I felt very blessed to know him from such a young age. This story hit home! Thanks for sharing.
