16  Entertainment / Movies / Re: Christians Urged to Prepare for Sharing Truth After Da Vinci Code Movie Released on: March 20, 2006, 04:30:19 PM
I can always count on sincereheart to understand me.  Wink

I didn't mean to turn this into a whole thing. Heck, I didn't even read the article. It's just that the title of the thread makes it seem like, as sincereheart put it, we should only be Christians when it's convenient for us.

Because, let's be honest, it's a lot easier to witness if you're witnessing against something tangible.

Hey. I remember making this topic.
18  Entertainment / Movies / Re: Christians Urged to Prepare for Sharing Truth After Da Vinci Code Movie Released on: March 18, 2006, 03:47:52 PM
Ok. The DaVinci Code is bad. We get it.

And if Christians only share the truth when there are big, public "anti-Christian" events such as this, then how much of a Christian are they really?
19  Entertainment / Movies / Re: Left Behind on: March 17, 2006, 04:28:56 PM
ROFL! I remember when you liked the books!

 Grin

Yeah...and ironically enough, if I'd never liked Left Behind I never would have signed up on their message boards, met Angie, become the pessimistic, cynical excuse for a teenager that I was a couple years ago (I've become much the opposite recently), and been introduced to THESE boards.

What a funny thing, life.

I'm actually doing really well. Having the best school year of my life. Senior year in high school...gotta make the best of it, you know.

But yeah, I really should get around to reading this book...keep hearing rave reviews about it.

I figure, as long as I know the difference, all the religious hoohah doesn't bother me. I'm going to have to deal with it sooner or later in life.

And besides, isn't this book labeled as "FICTION"?

Eww. Left Behind.
22  Entertainment / Movies / Re: BLASPHEMOUS MOVIE ABOUT JESUS CHRIST BASED ON BEST-SELLING FICTION BOOK........ on: March 16, 2006, 04:34:09 PM
*Yawns again.*

*Can't wait until he gets around to reading The DaVinci Code.*

*Yawns.*
24  Entertainment / Television / Re: The presence of magic in cartoons on: March 13, 2006, 04:24:23 PM
Oh geeze, yeah, I agree. You hear about the recent murders involving kids who cast deadly spells on a bunch of people?

I blame it on The Fairly Oddparents.

Satan's work, it is.
25  Entertainment / Television / Re: Dragon Ball? on: February 20, 2006, 03:08:40 PM
Dragon Ball is stupid. If you want real anime, watch Evangelion. That'll change your life.

Seriously.
26  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re: Phycics are Dangerous and Destructive on: February 13, 2006, 04:24:36 PM
Why is it everyone always tends to overthink how to spell words that start with a soft 'p'?
27  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re: How can a non-believer become a believer? on: February 01, 2006, 04:32:59 PM
I want to be part of everything in his life which includes loving Jesus.
i have no idea how i can change beliefs on this.

Does anyone else find these statements a bit...contradictory?

Susie, put simply, there's nothing you can do to "become a believer." Of course, I certainly am NOT the person to be talking to about this stuff, because I still struggle with this question myself, and have never been able to find an answer less vague than the one I just gave you.

The only other thing I have to comment on is this: maybe sometime in my life something good or bad will happen that willmake me believe in him.

See, now, the problem I have with this is, if something DOES happen, there's always the chance that you'll become dependant on physical evidence for your continued faith, at which point it is no longer faith. This can lead to selfishness, directly or indirectly...it's like making a deal with God. If you need proof that God exists outside the Bible, then maybe you're not ready for a commitment yet.

But who am I to say?
28  Fellowship / You name it!! / Aw, come on on: January 10, 2006, 02:53:23 PM
Change it back...It's all too...contemporary.

Updating =/= good thing
29  Entertainment / Movies / Re:chronicles of Narnia on: January 01, 2006, 04:48:47 PM
Quite simply one of the most amazing movies I've ever seen. Very emotionally involving.

Wow, I'm surprised the majority (so far) likes this show.

I mean, I do too, but this board tends to be so conservative that topics like this usually get shot down within the first three or four posts.
