31  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re: 'We're on the eve of World War III' on: April 02, 2006, 11:11:03 PM
All this time, your churches have been saying "Go ahead! we are under Grace! just use a condom!" We are the only ones who firmly say "This is not right! You need to stop it!"
I guess Bernie you are not a Christian, which you are trying to project.  We are known by our fruit not on what we are trying to project.

As Christians we promote purity of individuals not like your statements above.  Your statement is being used by the secular world not us - Christians.

Invading other nations and imposing our opostasy will only inflame the situation.
They say "Convert or die" You say Convert or we bomb you!"
I will continue to talk kids out of joining and for those who changed their mind, will help them cancel thier enlistments.

I believe, these statement of your's is more appropriately  use in one of the News i just read about a men who is A Christian.  The court is saying convert back to islam or die. Embarrassed  We do not impose our faith; we try to beg people to see their sin, repent and  Jesus Christ our savior.  But impose... No... It is your choice... people choice.

So, please don't try to say something that is not. And i believe, correct me if i am wrong, you are a muslim. Huh

I read 11 out of the 12 and they are good.  The movies, well, also good. But as usual the books are better than movies.
33  Theology / Debate / Re: Apostolic succession on: March 16, 2006, 12:29:54 AM

Pray before you read.  Do not harden your heart.

You got it right.  Many, even those we call inteligent or genuises can not understand the Word of God.  The Bible though written by men is inspired by God, so only those that have the Holy Spirit that guide them will understand the Word of God. Without wisodm coming from God we will misinterpret the Bible.

Welcome to christiansunite Lou.  I am still new here but i learned a lot. This site is great!!!

35  Theology / General Theology / Re: Christianity: child abuse? A virus? on: March 13, 2006, 02:20:58 AM
Hmm...
Interesting post there. Me personally (a new guy to Jesus) i don't believe in the literal word of the Bible. I think some bits are stories because we are too stupid to understand.

If you do not believe the literal word of the Bible then maybe you are not yet a Christian. Coz' Christians believe that God is manifested in the flesh [Jesus] (literally). And that Jesus died in the cross (literally) and resurrected from the dead (literally).

If G started talking about quarks, protons, gamma rays, evolution etc we wouldn't fully have understood and thats why it's not in the Bible, because earlier people weren't ready for it.

With regards to scientific knowledge, don't you know that Christians believe that the earth is round eventhough the scientific community (if they are really scientific?) believe the earth is flat.  Before men discovered there are spring in the bottom of the sea, God already revealed it to Job (Job 38:16 Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea?).  Maybe you have to read your Bible well.
36  Theology / Bible Study / Re: What Did Jesus Look Like? on: March 13, 2006, 12:27:03 AM
Hi BLAD, that was sincereheart that gave the Isaiah reference but that does apply as you said. I beleive that He did not want a picture or statue made of Himself because He did not want people worshiping a statue or a picture of Him nor would He want others to hold someone that lloked like Him in higher esteem than anyone else.

Amen Pastor Roger.

Sorry for the mistake, pardon me ma'am sincereheart.  Kiss

In Jesus time we can determine that there were good artist (painters, scupltors), haven't we ask why Jesus didn't tell a painter
"Hey, painter, scupltor this is the face of god you have to paint it or sculpture it?"

I believe he did not do it coz' the human form can not really depict God? Our Lord Jesus is GOD manifested but that is only part or GOD.  It just like trying to define GOD of the character he reveal at one time. Just like some Christian that GOD is love only.. He is also just, jealous, slow to anger and a lot more....

When GOD revealed himself as the Christ (Saviour), we should not try to depict him as like a saviour only (as Jesus only).

He is manifested as a Flesh (the son), as a the Holy Spirit and the Father.

I believe Jesus is following what this scriptural passage

Deutoromy 4
11: And ye came near and stood under the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire unto the midst of heaven, with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness.
12: And the LORD spake unto you out of the midst of the fire: ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only ye heard a voice.
13: And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.
14: And the LORD commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go over to possess it.
15: Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire:    16: Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,
17: The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air,
18: The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth:
19: And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.

I believe that is also the reason that as Pastor Roger qouted in Isaah his (Jesus) physical feature is common. Nothing that really can be highlighted.

By the way, i am just expressing my thought. 1 cent!!! Wink

with all due respect Pastor I am not buying into your interpretation. Cry this is because I am stupid and get hung up on what the bible actually says. I have read your previous post and to me they sound evasive. I am in the debate forum arn't I?

Jesus oppointed Peter head of the Church on earth and then Peter acknowledged the divinity of Jesus and Then Jesus said lets keep that hush hush for now.

Thou art Peter(rock) Upon this rock I will build my church. We get lots of words from Peter. Petroleum, Petreglyph saltpeter. Believe me when I tell you Peter is the Greek word rock.

piusx, don't you know that Paul was the one who reach the gentiles (non-Jews)? that is why your church (roaman catholic church) use or adopt the name of Paul on most pope.

so don't you think Paul is your (roman catholic church) rock?

What i am saying here is that GOD uses men (Peter, Paul, Timothy) to reach people but we should not worship them?

Below is what Paul did when the Lyconian people tried to worship him in Acts 14

11: And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.
12: And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker.
13: Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people.
14: Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out,
15: And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:
16: Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways.
17: Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness

Now ask yourself, who established the church GOD or men?  Who we should worship GOD or men?
39  Theology / Debate / Re: JEHOVAH WITNESSES on: March 10, 2006, 08:42:51 PM
Nope, me think piusx is Catholic.

Maybe we should be specific, coz' i believe catholic means Christian Chruch (well that what my dictionary tells me).  Maybe he is a Roman Catholic.  They really believe works saves but as we Christians believe that only through Christ you will be saved.

43  Theology / Debate / Re: TITHE AND OFFERING??? on: March 07, 2006, 11:44:09 PM
with regards to those people who doesn't have harvest, there were money equivalents given
example:

And those that are to be redeemed from a month old shalt thou redeem, according to thine estimation, for the money of five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, which is twenty gerahs Number 18:16

If a soul commit a trespass, and sin through ignorance, in the holy things of the LORD; then he shall bring for his trespass unto the LORD a ram without blemish out of the flocks, with thy estimation by shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for a trespass offering:  Leviticus 5:15

What i am just showing here is that, there was money equivalent of the offerings or tithes.
44  Theology / Debate / Re: TITHE AND OFFERING??? on: March 07, 2006, 11:28:24 PM
I started re-reading the Bible this past few weeks; i mean re-reading it from Genesis. I started Genesis 1:1 last January and now i am in Numbers. Yesterday, March 6, i just read this verse

But the tithes of the children of Israel, which they offer as an heave offering unto the LORD, I have given to the Levites to inherit: therefore I have said unto them, Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance. Numbers 18:24

What i infer on this, God have given the tithes for the Levites use.  The tenth of the tithe

Thus speak unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then ye shall offer up an heave offering of it for the LORD, even a tenth part of the tithe. Numbers 18:26

will be offered to the Lord.

(Anyway, to those who have forgoten the background of this verse. This is the time God commanded Moses to number the Israelites and tell them there inheritance in the land promised to Abraham.)

Well, I just want to share this. I know this were all commandments to israelites.  We in the grace period have to give what our heart desire.
