Welcome / About You! / Re:Signing In

I stumbled upon this site a few days ago and already love it here! I had been visiting another website, no names mentioned, and was very unhappy with the way "christians" were talking to each other - blatant blasphemy and name calling.... so sophomoric. I love it here! So far everyone is polite and most importantly, very loving to each other..... I plan to post my little heart out! Blessings -

I praise and thank the Lord too, that you are here today. You have a purpose in God! IMHO there's no such thing as "second" chances with the Lord - He's patient and loving and best of all, forgiving! Once you accept Jesus as your Savior, your slate is washed clean! You are NOT GUILTY in the eyes of God because he sees you through the blood of his precious Son..... the path we walk now is narrow, he knows we're going to stumble; but when you reach out and take ahold of His nail pierced hand you will be guided home in all His Glory!

You're right, you are lucky to have been raised in a church-going family. I gave my life to Jesus when I was 12 years old, but my christianity wasn't nurtured ... so soon I walked away. I stayed away for 30 years, it wasn't until I was literally on my death bed that I reached out to God again. That was three years ago and I've been on fire for the Lord ever since.....

Fellowship / You name it!! / Are You Fighting An Addiction?

Are you having trouble shaking off an addiction? Have you overcome an addiction to drugs, alcohol, smoking, etc.? Are you helping the Lord help you, ie rehabilitation or intervention? How long have you been clean and sober? You don't struggle alone, there are many addicts fighting their demons and it's not always easy to wear God'd armour.

How did you come to find Jesus? Was it a low point in your life, or have you always been a christian? Perhaps you converted from a different religion - tell us why, and how knowing Jesus has changed your life ...

I really like "Little House On The Prairie" ... I read the books when I was a kid, really loved 'em. I also got into a series called "Flowers In The Attic" .... anyone else familiar with it?

My personal favorites for t.v. are the old, classic black and white; "I Love Lucy", "The Andy Griffith Show", "Leave It To Beaver", "Father Knows Best", etc. The more current shows I watch are "Forensic Files" and "Cold Case Files" on A&E and I love the History Channel. National Geographic is another good one.

Being physically challenged myself, I have to say Yes ... when and if I'm in a position to hire someone, I only look at what skills they have and where I can place them - to let them shine where they do best. Before my disability, I was an Executive Secretary. Now just because I'm in a wheelchair does not mean I lost my skills - I'm just as good a secretary now as I was when I could walk. The only difference is, now I'm a secretary for the Lord! All my work is voluntary at church or at the Elks Lodge .... Hallelujah! Praise His Name! I have a purpose for God! Blessings -

Thanks Dreamweaver! That was sooooo cute! My cat, "Talker" was a stray hanging around the neighborhood and one day I answered the door to let my mom in and the cat just jumped into my lap! (I'm in a wheelchair) The scrawny little kitten had my heart right then and there. I knew by looking at her that she had been on the street for quite some time; she was obviously under nourished and dehydrated, so after two or three days I took her to the vet. This baby had an upper respiratory infection, ear mites, and pink eye. But worse than that, a blood test proved she also has feline leukemia.... my heart broke for her! She obviously loved me and I had fallen for her too - so the doctor said that with optimum care and a good diet she can very well live up to five years. I knew she deserved a chance at life! So I walked out of the veterinary hospital with a plethora of prescription medicine and a very sickly kitten. Well, fast forward one year - she's fat and spoiled and loving and beautiful and I'm soooo grateful to God for whatever time He allows for me and Talker.

Oh gosh, let's see..... I have no children (by choice). I love animals and tend to rescue strays. My favorite color? Hmm... lavendar I guess, it seems I have a lot of lavendar in my wardrobe. I love Thai food, and Chinese. I'm also a very good cook! My favorite meals to prepare lean toward Italian and Mexican, also "Soul Food" (blackeye peas, greens, corn bread, etc...) Favorite bible verse - that's a tough one, let me think on it. I'm the prayer chain leader at my church (Calvary Chapel), I volunteer my secretarial skills to the pastor and his staff, I coordinate church events such as the "All church breakfast" once a month and I'm chairing the committee for the Christmas Pageant and Talent Show this year. Sometimes I work in the nursery caring for babies during the church service. Basically I guess you can call me a church volunteer, because if something needs to be done that I'm physically capable of doing (I'm an amputee in a wheelchair), I will volunteer my time and skill. Favorite woman in the Bible has to be Mary Magdelaine - she washed Jesus' feet! I can only imagine the JOY and GLORY to wash the feet of my dear SAVIOR! And I am grateful to God for everything ... it's difficult to name my blessings one by one because there are so many! He loves ME! Praise His Name! Glory, glory, glory! JESUS LOVES ME! Hallelujah. My joy is in loving Him.

I know from personal experience that abuse does not stop without intervention. I also know that the longer you let him get away with this behavior, the worse he will get. You've already proven to him that you're not going to leave because you've come back four times. What I did was LEAVE and STAYED GONE ... it was painful, it hurt my heart, but I just don't believe that our Father God wants us to be abused - whether we're married to the person or not. I know I did the right thing - for me. I will keep you in prayer.
