Theology / Debate / Re:Jehovia's Witnesses Just what are they?

I too, have always believed that JW's are a CULT! My husband (though he now claims to be a nonbeliever) was a practicing JW for 15 years (long before I married him). He never did believe that Jesus is God and he didn't believe in the Trinity. Now he doesn't believe at all. From what he's told me about this "church", there are people in it that decide whether or not someone can attend their meetings, they have to go door knocking or they get kicked out. If a JW marries someone who's not, the JW gets kicked out. If a JW gets 'caught' drinking coffee they get kicked out ... etc etc ... seems like a JW has to meet a curriculum before they can join!
I attend a "nondenominational church" and it is the Lord's house - everbody is welcome!!
JW's absolutely ARE a CULT and when I see them coming I close my door; it has a sign posted on it "NO WITNESSING" and even that doesn't stop them sometimes. Just what bible do they read? Nothing they teach is in MY bible!

I don't fully understand these extremely long posts, but I have two questions: 1) Are you a JW? and if you are; 2) Why don't you believe in the Trinity?

Your pastor has a great testimony. It sounds similiar to my pastor redemption, except my pastor didn't abuse his wife - he was "just" a drunk....
As for my own testimony, it is long and too boring - but I am saved. Praise the Lord!

Fellowship / You name it!! / I can see you and so can Jesus

A burglar quietly entered a Beverly Hills mansion prepared to loot it . . . as he snuck around surveying the valuables, he heard a quiet voice come out of the darkness: "I can see you and so can Jesus!" The burglar stopped in his tracks and scanned the room with his flashlight - no one was there. After a minute he continued on with his mission. The voice came out of the dark: "I can see you and so can Jesus!" Creeped out, the burglar shined his flashlight into the farthest corner of the room. There, standing on a pedestal, was a large, african grey parrot, the parrot said: "I can see you and so can Jesus!" Laughing out loud at himself, the burglar picked up his bag and and started to leave. Suddenly, he heard a low, menacing growl - he flashed his light into the hallway and there stood an angry doberman and the parrot said: "Sic 'm Jesus!" Blessings -

A gift of knowledge is usually obtained by reading and studying. Biblically, I don't know that it's a "gift of the spirit" if that's what you're asking . . . What does Pastor Roger have to say?
