16  Theology / Debate / Re:Is contraception against the will of God on: April 30, 2005, 09:02:43 AM
I will be honest.  I have never really pondered this issue in great depth.  I've always just figured that there was never wrong with contraception (providing it doesn't kill a fetus).  Some strong arguments have been made both ways.  However, I tend to agree with those whom defended my original position.  I don't see any clear indication in Scripture of contraception being wrong and the allusion to the Genesis account concerning the gentleman who "spilled his seed" seems like a particularly weak defense of the anti-contraception stance.  This text appears to be more Messiah centred than anything else.  Let's keep in mind that our God is not void of common sense.  He gave all of us this gift for a reason.  Common sense tells me that if you can't afford more kids than you have...wear protection.  If you don't have the temperment for kids...wear protection.  What's the problem here?  Arguing otherwise reminds me of those lost JW's refusing blood transfusions.  Reading into Scripture crazy carnal ideas.  No wonder most non-Christians think we are crazy people... We are in the world but not of it...but let's remember that we are IN the world.  Until this reality ceases, I think that Christians should all be living by this rule of thumb: If the Word of God does not mention a doctrine specifically...odds are God is telling us to use our COMMON SENSE.  Don't buy a dog if you like cats...

God bless in Jesus' name...
17  Theology / Debate / Re:Thoughts on Benny Hinn??? on: April 30, 2005, 08:38:16 AM
Benny Hinn is a joke.  Anyone see the 20/20 investigation on him?  How about the book THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF BENNY HINN???  Worth seeing and reading.  This guy is an antichrist.  The opening to his show says it all: he shakes hands with the pope.  Nuff said.
18  Theology / Debate / Re:"Biblical scholars" claim the Bible is myth!! on: April 29, 2005, 01:11:48 PM
Right on, the Bible says that "professing themselves to be wise they became fools".  The Biblical scholar, however, doesn't believe in this verse.  Why?  Well, he's too wise of course!  Nothing will open the eyes of those unwilling to see.  He who has ears to hear...you know the rest.  Praise Jesus!
19  Theology / Debate / Re:My need for renovations... on: April 29, 2005, 01:01:08 PM
Bronze, I am just a new member.  I have been looking for a place to chat with Christians about serious topics since i have no real Christian friends to confide in or converse with.  Right away I believe that God is going to use you, one way or the other, in my life.  I really relate to your testimonial and your  honesty and humbleness is precious in the sight of the Lord.  I too have anger issues.  Although I am not violent, I am passionate.  I too have struggled with major sin in my life (and at times still do).  I don't know why I'm writing all of this exactly, guess I just want to reciprocate your sentiment.  Now I know a little bit about where you are coming from.  Now you know a little bit about me.  Look forward to having many non-arguments...haha...in the future.  God bless...in the name of Jesus.
20  Theology / Debate / Re:Political Parties on: April 29, 2005, 12:45:46 PM
I don't vote unless I feel particularly compelled to do so.  I simply pray that God's will be done.  Regardless of whether we vote or not, He will appoint whom He will.  He removeth kings and setting them up.  Why vote anyway when the elections are rigged?  Do you actually think that Bush was going to allow himself to lose?  I'm not here to hate on God's annointed.  My intention is not so.  There is a fine line between honouring the king and speaking the truth and I intend to walk it.  Remember those three young Jewish men in Babylon?  The kingdoms of the world are Satans right now.  Let him have his consolation because the party is almost over.  Jesus is coming... then shall Thy Kingdom come.  Until then, let's just preach the Gospel.

God bless...
21  Theology / Debate / Re:When Did Jesus Know? on: April 29, 2005, 12:38:17 PM
Jesus was fully God, fully Man.  As God, obviously He always knew He that was God.  When exactly the Man knew is the question.  This probably happened when Jesus' fleshly body matured enough to the point where it had the capacity to understand the Spirit inside of Jesus.  Regardless whether or not anyone accepts this post or not, nothing articulated so far in this debate shold be particularly alarming.  We all believe that Jesus was God from and for eternity.  That's the important thing.  The rest, I believe God will reveal as we get closer to Him.  We shall grow in grace and knowledge... for now, at least the foundation is sure.

God bless...
22  Theology / Debate / Re:CHRIST OR the devil on: April 29, 2005, 12:25:10 PM
I have gotten about two pages into this debate and just felt compelled to jump in here in defense of Mrs. Chosen's standpoint.  If someone is truly a born-again Christian, not merely a professing hypocrite, how could you even think upon accepting the notion that a Christ-rejector is or ever will be saved?  Be it far from all of us to fathom.  Jesus was speaking to the Jews when He said, "he that believeth NOT is condemned already."  Plain and simple.  Without Christ, no man shall see God.  He is our Holiness.  What are we arguing about.  If all the Jews shall be saved merely because of their bloodline, isn't this grossly unfair to all of the Philistines, Hittites, etc.  Why one bloodline and not the other?  I thought that God had "no respect of persons"?  Of course, He doesn't, and Mrs. Chosen, stand stand stand and do not move because on the Bible you are.
