1  Theology / Debate / Re:IS BUDDHA A SERVANT OF CHRIST if not then why is he described in the BIBLE on: August 16, 2005, 03:08:03 AM
Buddism does not coincide with Christianity? or does it. is BUddha not in the BIBLE. why would buddha be in the bible if it has nothing to do with christianty. BUDDHA MADE it to the third heaven and here is paul explaing how he cant boast compared to the super apostle a servent of CHRIST

2 Corinthians 12 (messages)
Paul's Vision and His Thorn
1I must go on boasting. Although there is nothing to be gained, I will go on to visions and revelations from the Lord. 2I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven. Whether it was in the body or out of the body I do not know—God knows. 3And I know that this man—whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, but God knows— 4was caught up to paradise. He heard inexpressible things, things that man is not permitted to tell. 5I will boast about a man like that, but I will not boast about myself, except about my weaknesses. 6Even if I should choose to boast, I would not be a fool, because I would be speaking the truth. But I refrain, so no one will think more of me than is warranted by what I do or say.

do u not understand the end of times is near so all the deep secerts will be reaveled even if its not known in the church community. Buddha is the only person recorded in the world that made it to the third heaven hes far from a false prophet and we know this because they belive in the second coming of  christ if buddha was false then they would not belive in the second coming all the majoy religions that embrace the second coming christ, in my book thus are servant of jesus.

see Buddha is a servant of JESUS because JESUS is the LORD.
also if it was not for the musilim religion christans would be worshipping icons of jesus pictures. thats why we were losing in the beging of the crusades, untill christians got ride of their icons.

I think that this is more talking about Christ and not about Bhuddah. Christ was picked up by clouds when he went back up to heaven. I Paul was just describing Jesus.
2  Entertainment / Poetry/Prose / Freedoms Cost (give me some feedback) on: June 06, 2005, 03:12:58 AM
The hunger for power, comes like a game
Which in the end, leaves it's mark behind
And today the world, it aint the same
Though our eyes are open, but our soul is still blind.

Today we remember, the past events
While reflecting, on this fulfilled prophecy
Thousands die, when one demands
To much power, becomes and atrocity.

But today is different, because we reflect
On heroes of the past
And there's heroes today, that we respect
Who are fighting, for freedom to last.

For that hunger for power, there's still no end
Innocent blood, continues to spill
And then we ask ourselves, while trying to understand
Why and for what, do we even kill?

Today we visit cemeteries, reminding ourselves
Of histories greatest disaster
When freedom was threatened, by evil itself
The world saw the works, of Hells greatest master.

We fight for sovereignty, but that's hard to see
Because of our selfish desire
For we think that dominant power, will set the world free
Instead it took so many lives, like a wild fire.

For many centures, we fought for peace
A peace that we can't even attain
And our lives aren't going, to rest at ease
Because the peace from God, we can't even contain.

The message here, is very clear
That I wish people, would just see
That putting your will first day after day, year after year
Aint gonna set you free.

When I decided to come out of the closet I thought everyone would laugh at me, or worse.  I was sure I’d be called names, degraded, shunned and ridiculed.  All of that happened and more.  There are even those who would rather see me dead than alive – because as long as I’m alive I am an infectious danger to their society.  When ‘friends’ found out they began avoiding me – I had to make new friends who understand what it’s like to be me – others who, like me, were once ‘in the closet’.
Everything is so much easier now, since I’m ‘out in the open’.  I no longer have to live a ‘double-life’.  I no longer have to act like I’m someone I’m not in order to please my peers.  Don’t get me wrong - it’s still hard.  There’s still a lot of ridicule, mostly the result of misunderstanding.  The way they portray people like me on TV is absurd.  I still have to be careful in public – some people are so phobic – so full of hate.
Yep – I’ve “come out”.  It’s time for the world to know that I’m a...

CHRISTIAN!!!!!!  Grin

Yes it is more harder to come out of the closet being a Christian. When your an "inside the closet" homosexual like i was, its a lot easyer to come out. Ever since i came to the Lord, everything that is easy to get, easy to pass through, easy to do is most likely of the enemy. Homosexuals dont get persecuted as much as we believers do.
4  Prayer / Prayer Requests / Pray for Jimmy on: May 14, 2005, 03:36:28 AM
Just a few weeks ago I met a man by the name of Jimmy at church, the first time he came he was drunk. Last Sunday he showed up sober. Tonight I saw him again and this time drunk again. Jimmy has been drinking since 12 years old, and has had a very bad alcahol problem since. He grew up in a Catholic believing family who love the Lord and all that, go to church and what not, but has strayed and fell into the hands of this horrible addiction. Im asking for your guys prayer for Jimmy because its hard for him to quit, and he really wants to stop, he loves God w/ all his heart and wants to fully devote his whole life to the Lord. So please pray for him and pray for me as well that God will show me from my half the words to say, how to challange him and all that.
5  Entertainment / Poetry/Prose / MY CRY on: May 10, 2005, 01:52:26 AM
Break me Lord and mold me God

To who you want me to be

Show me Father the shedded blood

Of the one who died for me.

Cleanse me Lord w/ your blood

Let it drip upon my soul

I'm empty and deep down inside

Im crying out "please make me whole."

6  Theology / Apologetics / Re:Speaking in Tounges? on: May 08, 2005, 03:29:23 AM
The tongues that is present today within the christian community is not of God.  The reason tongues was given was for the proclamation of the Gospel by the disicples who did not know the language of the nation they would be sharing with.

There is no scriptural proof for a personal prayer language.  When one is a believer in Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit indwells fully.  It is by God's Spirit that we are transformed and renewed by a refining process to do His will.  Speaking in tongues has nothing to do with this.  There is no power associated with tongues and this is not presented anywhere in Scripture.

Here is a link that gives the history of tongues in this country, where it originated from, and why it is not of God.

http://www.seekgod.ca/topicwaves.htm#tongues

imho, tongues is nothing more than a way for one to believe they are doing something to enhance their relationship with God.  It is an age old problem.  Rather than relying fully on God for His ability to grace us with insight and knowledge, man has fallen into pride and elevating his own "spirituality" to do something "for" God that He does not need and does not want.

shalom, nana

Maybe the tongues that we pray in today are nothing compared to the tongues prayed in back then. but we dont know that for 100% proof that back then God ONLY gave that gift to the apostals. Yes i believe that tongues comes out in many forms and patterns and all that. For instance I speak Russian and I can remember the very first time I heard someone speak in tongues, and this person doesnt speak Russian what so ever, but I heard (and Im telling you the truth) every single word that, that person prayed, I understood it very well 100% of it. I believe that, thats one way God STILL USES TO SPEAK THROUGH HIS CHILDREN therefore i cant say that tongues no longer exists to this very day. And yes I fully agree on the half that the enemy can use tongues for his own glory too, that you have to watch out for. But i can't say that tongues is all of the enemy. Dont forget these few verses in 1Corinthians below.

1 Corinthians 12:10

1 Corinthians 12:28

1 Corinthians 12:30

1 Corinthians 14:4

1 Corinthians 14:39
7  Prayer / General Discussion / Re:Concerned For My Salvation on: May 05, 2005, 03:06:12 AM
I'm hoping this is the appropriate forum to be posting this in. My apologies if it is not. It's been a while since I posted here.

Well, here's the deal: I hear some people say that you will "know" if you are saved. I'm assuming they might also mean that if you don't know for sure if you are saved, then you are not saved. This concerns me because I believe that I am saved, but I don't "know" it.

I do believe that Jesus Christ came to Earth, that he died on the cross, and that this sacrifice was sufficient to cover my sins. I have also asked him to come into my heart and forgive me for my sins. However, my preacher stated that if one is saved, they will have a desire to be at church. For me, I go to church because I know that I should do it, because the Bible says to, not because I feel drawn in some special way. That concerns me too.

Another issue is that some denomination(s) of Christianity apparently believe that speaking in tongues is proof of being saved, and that if you haven't spoken in tongues, then you aren't saved. I have never spoken in tongues. I have felt the spirit of God come upon me during church service, drawing me to the altar, afterwhich I did go to the altar and pray.

What do you think? Am I saved?

You are saved no matter what. Dont let anyone out ther tell you that your not saved just because you dont speak in tongues. That's not the truth, people like that get salvation and God's gift's confused for some reason. Tongues is a GIFT from God given to His saints, YOU are His precious saint weather you speak in tongues or not, He still loves you. And like one other person here said, salvation is not a feeling, but it's also not just a belief its a way of life. why do i say it like that? because when we are saved, we change. We let God change our life style, we're no longer drug addicts, alcaholics, or rebelious people trying to make God mad. We are His saints, you are one too.
8  Prayer / General Discussion / WHAT KIND OF CHRISTIANS WE NEED TO BE TO THE WORLD. on: May 05, 2005, 02:29:03 AM
I was reading the 3rd book from the Left Behind series, this one is titled "Nicolae" and I want to share w/ you a small 2 paragraphs that has personally hit me and i believe in the comming days will change my Christian life. This is why I titled this post "What Christians need to be to the world."

"I have always admired and liked you," she (Cloe) said. "I think we could have been friends in another situation. But Hattie, I feel led to tell you that I know why you came here today. I know why you followed my dad's advice, thought you may have done it against your will. Something tells me your visit home was not successful. Maybe your family was too practicle. Maybe they didn't give you the compassion you needed along with their advice. Maybe hearing that they wanted you to end this pregnancy was not what you really wanted.

"Let me just tell you, Hattie, if it's love you're looking for, you came to the right place. Yes, there are things we believe. Things we think you should know. Things we think you should agree with. Decisions we think  you should make. We have ideas wbout what you should do about your baby, and we have ideas about what you should do about your soul. But these are personal decisions only you can make. And while they are life-and-death, heaven-and-hell decisions, all we can offer is support, encouragement, advice if you ask for it, and love."

That made me think of how a lot of us, being Christian represent ourselves and the body of Christ to the world. I mean those guys see us as narrow-minded, right wing fanaticals just because we choose live more of pure type of lives (compared to the world that is.) We cherish life, therefore we are against abortion. We cherish our own God-given sanity and purity when it comes to marriage therefore we choose not to walk in the ways and life style of homosexuality and pre-marriage sex.

Now I dont mean to judge anybody, but I will say that there's A LOT of belivers out there who feel comfy sitting in that little buble of "if you dont believe in Jesus and change your lifestyle you'll go to hell." So then you might ask yourself, what do I do now that my best friend is thinking 2nd thoughts of having this baby? what do I do now that Johny has his suicide attempt all planned out? what do i do now that i found out that Adam and Jack are going out? that two of the gals from my church whom I considered to be Christian, came out of the closet?

Well I just hope that you guys see the answer in those two paragraphs. Yes we are children of God, yes, we need to serve Him, yes, we need to do what is right. But the question is, what is right? and how do you live out that thing called *right*? well what is right is Jesus Christ and like in so many books that I've read say that being Christians we need to represent Jesus. We claim that we have Him in our hearts and all, but just like i shared earlyer the world apperently doesnt know that when  they touch us, talk to us, eat and hang out w/ us they are litterly looking at, listening to, and touching Jesus. But if we come out to be just like how the world see's us as those Christians who dont really respect God's gift of "choice" who are always like, "if you dont believe in Jesus then you will burn in hell." type of Christians, just think about if thats what Jesus would really say and do.
9  Theology / General Theology / Re:ABOUT THE MARS HILL CHURCH IN SEATTLE on: May 05, 2005, 01:24:43 AM
Based on the churches history their roots came from what is known as a "Bible Church". Bible churches are a branch off of the old First Baptist Churches. Mars Hills since has become what they believe to be an independant multidenominational type of church.

Well thats funny cuz if they branched off a "bible church" from which my impression is that those guys are the type of church that take the bible at its litteral point, then why would Mars Hill block out that once section in the book of Acts about the baptism of the Holy Spirit and believe that it doesnt happen today?
10  Theology / General Theology / ABOUT THE MARS HILL CHURCH IN SEATTLE on: May 01, 2005, 01:23:46 AM
I didnt know they dont believe in speaking in tongues. makes me wonder what denomination they are. does anybody living in Seattle know?
11  Theology / General Theology / JUST A CURIOUS QUESTION on: May 01, 2005, 01:13:22 AM
In the O.T. it mentions all these nations surrounding Israel. There were, for example the Babylonians and Philistines who are in this day and generation Iraq and Palestine if im right. What about the Ammonites and the Amorites? what group od people are they in this day and age?
12  Theology / Apologetics / Re:Speaking in Tounges? on: May 01, 2005, 01:06:25 AM
[quote author=Jemidon2004  I really don't see the need for it other than the self edification some of these denominations so eagerly want. There are mulitple tongues threads on here somewhere, though I don't really know off hand where they're at. But it's my view that tongues have ceased overall because it became something of a self edification issue.
Quote

I really agree w/ you on that on. I've just recently been baptized in the Holy Spirit and am still a beginner at it. Maybe self-edification is good, but we also need to remind ourselves (we mean those of us that speak in tongues) of what the bible says of speaking in tongues. you listed one part about not everyone having that gift. In Acts then the disciples got together in that one house and the Holy Spirit met them all there, something happened. In this case what became in "inside the house" thing also went outside the house, somewhere in there it talks about how everything and everyone was still or something, im not sure i'll have to look into it. I personally believe that tongues is accociated w/ healing (doesnt matter what kind of healing.) Its a very powerful gift and one that you really have to be careful because the enemy can twist it and as you us not even understanding what we are praying out in tongues could turn into words of blasphemy or something.

14  Theology / Apologetics / Re:Cults, Different groups on: May 01, 2005, 12:51:40 AM
[quote "Jesus Christ", and the "Father":

"God the Father", and "Jesus Christ" of the Mormons are not those of the real Bible:

- "God the Father", for the Mormons, was once a man, but became God. He has a physical body, as does his wife, Heavenly Mother. Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are three separate gods. Worthy men may one day become gods themselves.

- "Jesus Christ", like God the Father, for the Mormons is "eternal" because he has no end, like any other man, but he is "not eternal", because he had a beginning: He was born from Adam (who was God), by sexually cohabiting with the Virgin Mary in a physical, flesh relationship. Brigham declared emphatically, "Jesus was not begotten by the Holy Ghost". Jesus was married and had children with the two sisters of Lazarus, Maria and Martha... and Jesus became God, as you and I can become God, like Him!... everything contrary of what the real Bible says!.

- An another strange thing of the Mormons: Jesus and Lucifer are brothers!.

- Any man can become God... "As man now is, God once was; as God now is, man can become", is one of the most famous aphorisms of the Mormons... but of course, only the Mormons can become God, if they are faithful to their Church!... and only "men", not "women".

- This concept of "every man is god", has been taken up by the New Age Movement, but using different methods to become god.

- The Mormons could build on earth a "Garden of Eden", and that's the idea of Utah, USA... but Utah is still not a Garden of Eden!.

- The Church forbids contraceptives and abortion.

The "Book of Mormon":

The "Book of Mormon" is the greatest deception: It was dictated by Smith to Cowdery, not face to face, but from behind a curtain, in a period of 4 years, since 1827 to 1830.

- The story of Smith, is that the Book was written by Mormon in the year 400 A.C., and found by Smith 1,400 years later in Cumorah, near Palmyra, N.Y., with the help of angel Moroni. The Book was buried, and engraved on thin sheets of gold metal, nobody knows how many sheets, 200?, 2,000?... and with the book, there were a pair of large "supernatural spectacles", to translate the reformed Egyptian hieroglyphics of the sheets.

- After translating the Book, Smith returned it to Moroni, without even showing to his wives this great unique treasure... nobody knows what he did with the "supernatural spectacles", another unique great treasure!...

... But for most evangelicals, the Book is a plagiarism of a fiction novel written by Solomon Spaulding in 1816, "Manuscript Story"... and may be this is the reason why Smith always dictated the book from behind a curtain.

- Martin Harris, an old friend of Smith, portrayed him as "a religious faker, a charlatan", in a letter in 1830.

"Contents" of the Book of Mormon:

It is another great deception:

- The Book relates a thousand-year history of a lost tribe of Israelites who left Palestine and came to America to become the ancestors of the Native Americans. The leader of the lost tribe was Lehi, who had two sons: Laman and Nephi. They lived in pease and love, until the Lamanites became bad people, who fought and annihilated the Nephites near Palmyra, N.Y. in 428 AC But, before his demise, Mormon, the Nephite leader, wrote and buried his Book, including the appearance of Christ in America, after his resurrection, instituting the ordinances of baptism, communion, and priesthood.

-- The Book was published in 1830, with the subtitle "Another Testament of Jesus Christ", and it is the most sacred scripture for the Mormons, "the most correct book of any on earth"...

... But here comes the big deception:

- The Mormon's doctrine often contradicts the Book of Mormon's doctrine:

- The Book says, "there is only one God", Mormonism teaches "there are many gods" (Mosiah 15:1-5, Alma 11:28, 2 Nephi 31:21, Journal of Discourses, Smith, Vol.6, pag..5).

- The Book says, "the Trinity is one God", Mormonism teaches, "the Trinity is 3 separate gods" (Alma 11:44, Mosiah 15:5, 2 Nephi 31:21, Articles of Faith,Talmage, pag.35, 1985).

- The Book says, "God is Spirit", Mormonism teaches "God has the form of a man" (Alma 18:24,28, Journal of Discourses, Smith, Vol.6, p.3.
Quote

all of this is very interesting. im wondering where you got most of your info, let me know okay?
Something else Mormons believe is that after they die there's a split between the genders. Males go into one heaven and females into another. They also believe that there's a planet called "Coleb" (not sure about the spelling) and they say that thats where God lives. which gets me thinking...if according to their doctrine man is god then what does that mean? we are living on planet Coleb or something? you gotta be kidding me!
15  Prayer / General Discussion / JESUS IN US on: April 30, 2005, 04:41:40 AM
This is something that is never going to leave my mind. Think about this everywhere you go, everyone you talk to, touch, eath w/. That person litterely does not know that they have just talked to Jesus, touched Him, and even ate w/ Him. This is the kind of example we are to the world. Christ lives in us, we are His children. And when we go out into the world, they might hate Jesus and all, but they STILL dont realize that when they talk to you, eat w/ you, and whatever, they are STILL around Jesus.
