1  Fellowship / Testimonies / short version of it :) on: June 01, 2003, 04:32:35 PM
I was raised in a Catholic home, and learned to pray when I was young.  As I got older I got involved with psychics a little, calling up the infomercials and radio stations that featured them. I also got into other things that I shouldn't have been into.
One night my mistakes caught up with me. I didn't trust anyone enough to tell them what I had done, and I had in my head that the only one who could get me out of the self made pit was God.
I prayed to Him, asking Him to save me, promising Him that if He did I would never again do what I had done.
I started reading the Bible and talking to Him and I had this joy, this peace, this happiness that really words can't describe. I knew Jesus Christ was real-I had never been so happy before. Nothing had given me such joy.
I got out of psychics and other stuff I'd been into-my walk has in no wise been perfect. I have made so many mistakes. But I can testify that He has always been good, and always been faithful. Smiley Thank you for letting me share. Wink
2  Theology / Apologetics / Re:Are all religions basically the same? on: June 01, 2003, 04:25:05 PM
Hi...I'd like to respond to the question about whether different religions like wicca and Christianity can be true...
What I believe is that though they may have some things in common, they both cannot be true. One claims that Jesus is the only way to heaven...the other doesn't make that statement. It may have som etruth in it, but isn't that how satan tried to tempt Jesus...by quoting scripture, yet not with the whole truth in view?
Simply put, "Jesus is the way, the truth and the light" Smiley
3  Fellowship / You name it!! / His heart on: June 01, 2003, 04:16:05 PM
Do you ever wonder if sometimes we really know the heart of God?
Maybe it's not just found in devotionals, and such, but when we are out there healing broken hearts and satisfying hungry souls...
My friend told me of a time when she was outside this building, and she heard this woman sobbing. My friend, not really expecting to do this, held out her arms, and the woman walked into them, and sort of looked at my friend and asked, "where did you come from", or something like that...and my friend said something to me about realizing how much God loves us.

 Hi there Smiley
5  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re:Was I Christian, cowardly or courteous? on: June 01, 2003, 04:10:41 PM
The first post remindd me of something I've been going through-I have wanted for so long for someone I know to be saved, but they keep rejecting Christianity, yet still seem at times to want to stay in contact with me. That's hard for me...yes, I do care for them, but I don't want to damage my spiritual walk. And perhaps sometimes, I wonder, if the best thing you can do is walk away, let someone come to their senses, so they can realize the pit they are in.
6  Entertainment / Music / "No More Night" on: June 01, 2003, 04:05:57 PM
There was this song I heard, called "No More Night", at church recently...it was beautiful to me. Some of the lyrics were:
No more night, and no more pain,
No more tears, never crying again,
We’ll sing praises to the great I Am,
We will live in the light of the risen Lamb.”
--No More Night
7  Fellowship / Just For Women / Like us in some ways? on: June 01, 2003, 03:59:40 PM
I was thinking about His love... how much He cares, and the ways that He does. Do you see in the Bible sometimes how it seems like He is wrestling sometimes with the felings of HIs people-He wants so much for them to just stop being unfaithful, to love Him, come back to Him, and blesses them...but then when He sees them turning away it's like He sometimes wrestles with just giving up completely, yet His mercy many times triumphs over judgement, and He takes them back...
Isn't that like us sometimes? Like with people we love, we get to points where we just want to give up on them, someytimes do, and yet after a while our anger can go away and we want them with us again...
I was reading a book by Ty Gibson called "See WIth New Eyes" and I think that's why I started thining this way. I really enjoyed the book.
