Any other ladies out there? Hi I'm a lady out here. Maybe that's being abit presubtious of me. I sure hope I spelled that right. I'm a rotten speller, but just ask me to draw something and I can usually. I live in PA and I am a dog groomer by trade and a artist by God's grace. Spud (Cheryl)

Hi Spud! Welcome to CU! My husband used to paint while he preached in the open air. He was an evangelist with Open Air Campaigners and did a wonderful job painting as he preached. Again, welcome! That sounds wonderful I'm not sure I could talk and paint at the same time. Pat

Entertainment / Animals and Pets / notes from a pet groomer

I have been a Pet Groomer for 8 years and it always makes me smile when people refer to their pets as children. They do the baby talk and everything. I usually refer to them as their pet and to them they are the owner. I have a toy poodle and she is very sweet and smart but she is not a person with a soul. She just comforts me and is a great friend, but she should not be a replacement for human company. Cats will never be my favorite, I got real ripped up by one that was declawed on the front. But I do groom a cat that really likes her bath. She just sits in the tub and purrs when I spray her under the chin. I hope I didn't bore you with grooming stories, if not I got more. blessings spud

spud hehehe that's what my dad used to call my brother and I well that and ocationally Beavis. Where abouts in PA? Painting during sermons, I don't know of a Pastor that would like that. Are you making fun of my nickname? The paintings were related to the topic he was preaching. Like I did one of the Lost Sheep. The painting was of a shephard trying to coax a sheep to safety. I paint up on stage while the sermon is going on. It dosen't interfere with what he is preaching it just goes along with it.

Welcome, spud. How do you paint while the sermon is going on? Doesn't the minister get a little...um...*annoyed*?? Are you near Pennington, OR, MsGuided? I understnad a giant rodeo is there. I guess it's like desert where you are, huh? No he ask me to do it. I paint a picture that pertains to the sermon he is preaching. I don't do this every Sunday just on special occasions. I did one at Christmas, Easter and during a special topic on the parables. Thanks for asking Spud

I've placed a few posts here but have never officially said "hi."
So......"hi."
I'm from Gainesville FL (USA) and am a freelance graphic designer by day, and a hospital lab guy by night. It's great to be here and be encouraged, be an encourager, and enjoy conversations with my fellow brothers and sisters.
Later.
In Christ Alone,
Stephen
Wow another artist, I went to a tech. school to become a graphic designer but I landed a job in a print shop instead. I did that for 16years, now I'm a dog groomer. I do artwork on the side for our church in the way of banners or I paint while the pastor is preaching. I'm getting ready to airbrush a lighthouse on the Youth wall, maybe add a verse or quote to it. Welcome I hope I have'nt dumped too much info on you. spud

Yoyo and welcome to ChristiansUnite! I've always wanted to be an artist. I've never really started, though. I'm very jealous of people who are good at it. Enjoy the forums! I'll bet you have other talents that I don't have. I'm not real good at social situations especially with my peers. I don't do real well at retreats unless my spouse is with me. He's kinda like my security blanket. I feel safe with him. Thank you for the welcome.

Hello, I'm just learning my way around the forum. I have gotten to read a few of the posts and I'm gaining some insight into the jist of the group. My ministry at this time is doing artwork for our chuch. I either paint while a sermon is going on or I do artwork on the walls, make banners or do bullitin boards. I belong to a Brethren in Christ Church. I'm married and have two teenage daughters.
