Woe to those who call evil good
   and good evil,
who put darkness for light
   and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet
   and sweet for bitter.
        Isaiah 5:20
This passage means a lot to me.  It speaks volumes as to what society is trying to push on us.  Woe to them, and I pray for them.  blessings to you

4  Entertainment / Animals and Pets / pond fish on: December 16, 2004, 07:20:15 PM
I just had to tell you the story of how I got 15 pond fish in a plastic container in my basement for the winter.  I live in Pa and it gets real cold in the winter.
Last year we purchased a pond and I assured my 15 year old daughter that her goldfish in her bedroom( that had outgrown their tank) would be fine in it.  They grew and did fine in their new home.  It was getting cold and she was concerned that they would get too cold being out there.  I told her I would get a heater that would keep the water just above freezing.  She agreed so I bought the heater and put it in the pond.  The next day the dogs kept going over to the pond and sniffing.  I uncoverd it and I was shocked and very upset because the water was almost boiling!  I killed all her fish!  She cried as we buried all her fish.  She had names by the way for everyone of them.  I drained the pond and left it empty for the winter.  In the summer I bought 15 goldfish and she of course got attached to all of them.  I did not get another heater I was furious with the man who sold me a heater for barn work that was suppose to heat water to boiling to kill germs in dariy farm buckets.  I assured my daughter they would be okay under the ice, but she would not believe me so I said okay lets bring them in.  Needles to say they are all doing fine in the basement with the pond filter in a large plastic container.  What we don't do for our kids.

 Cool
I have the most coolest dog in the world.  My friend is a  toy poodle named Teeka.  She can play dead after you point your finger at her and say "Bang"  she drops and waits for yout to say "ok".   She is 8 years old and barks only to let you know that someone has arrived.  I take her with me as much as I can.  I have been told she is more behaved that some children.  She is only 6lbs and white.  I don't do any fancy clips on her just a utilty clip that just keeps her looking great.
I'll try to send a photo so you can see my precious friend.

When I first met my husband 21 years ago, I was at school and he was already graduated. He brought a friend to school and came back to my seat and started to talk to me.  He was so interested in what I had to say.  He listens to me and he still does.  I was attracted to him because he asked nothing of me no kissing no groping.  And I was so relieved because all the other guys were after one thing and thats why I dumped them.  He had a gentle spirit and I learned why, he was a christian.  I must say that I was also attracted to his rugged good looks and his hopped up Camaro.  My parents were not so happy about my choice and  let me know under no uncertian terms that he was not welcome.  I did marry him after a 3 year courtship.  I did pray to God and ask if this was the one and I got a overwhelming yes.  I tell this to my girls often and let them know that their decision should be a  final one like mine.  I made sure he was the one by asking questions and seeing how he treated his mom and how he loved his cousins.  I knew he would be a good father and treat me and our childdren well.  Needless to say my parents changed their opinion of him when they saw what I already knew.
I pray for my daughers that God will guide and direct their hearts to the right person or if they remain single, thats okay too.

I love Christmas, and I think that God love to see us enjoy ourselves.  I know what the true meaning is and the traditions we pass to our children are priceless.  I think that giving gifts is a great way to express our faith.  I wonder how many come to Jesus during this time of the year even if it just one, praise God!   People are more likely to do good for others as well.  Some get so negative about things, Just as a holiday is turned into something bad we can turn it around and make it good.

I really get tired of women bashing men all the time.  We compliment each other.  So many times I can help my husband with a project or he is able to help me.  We have different strenghts and weakness.  There are some real intellegent women who excell in acidemic areas and there are men who are equally gifted.  Don't blame men if you are too timid to assert yourself.  Be content with what you have and not with what you do not have.  God has placed you where you are for a reason.

9  Theology / Apologetics / Re:Bad music? on: December 06, 2004, 02:01:41 PM
 Embarrassed
I am one who can say that music has influenced me.  When I was in high school and an art major I listened to all sorts of music.  Non of the music I listened to was christian and my artwork reflected it.  I did paintings of demons, faries. possesed animals and so on.  As I got older I realized that this work was not God inspired so I burned it.  Some may say I was crazy to destroy this artwork, but it was a dark time in my life and I wanted it to be gone like the sin that put there.
If you begin swearing or having more than usual inpure thoughts I suggest you give up the music.  Jesus sacraficed himself for us, how about you?

I'll be glad to pray for you, don't ever think that you cannot ask us to pray.  Thats what God asks us to do.  Wisdom and the strenght to stand under the weight on your shoulders.
I'm glad that you came to the saving grace of Jesus and blessings to you.

If you plan to marry this person there is no way of knowing that he will change or accept Jesus.  I know of a sweet woman in our church who sits without her husband because he simply cannot accept that Jesus is Lord.  She is nearing 60 years old and she thought she could change his mind.  You say that when you are around him that you drift away.  Is this relationship worth you loosing faith too.  How easily are you swayed by others?  That should tell you if this relationship should continue.  He may ask you to give up things like tithing or attending church.  Or he may not, but are you willing to risk a happy life without another believer.
When you walk down the isle on your wedding day you are being joined in Holy matramony by yourself.  Pray hard on this decision and ask yourself honestly if you are strong enough to keep your faith alive with an unbeliever?
blessing to you

 Huh
My girls are in public school and as far as I know they are not teaching this type of curriculum. My girls would let me know.  I am always telling them the truth when it's needed.  I keep the lines of communication open so we can freely talk about such issues.  I have talked to both about sex and why God's way is the best way.  Homosexuality is not really accepted in our school.

Could it be that your standards are set too high?  Are you looking for the perfect lady or just a beutiful heart that loves the Lord as much as you?  I prayed to the God for my husband and he has blessed me wtih a man that is wonderful.  He is not perfect and neither am .  Blessings to you on your search. My husband is my best friend and I can't ever imagine my life without him. Smiley
