So far the earthquake activity in Southern Illinois down into Arkansas and Tennesee is not unusual, but I agree that taking into a worldwide scope there is unusual activity as you have stated and I don't think it is over just yet.
That earthquake in Indonesia has set off a string of events that is not soon to stop. I speculate that there is much more, and perhaps many that will be worse, coming.
Scientists theorize that pressure is building along other major fault lines because of this activity. There is one in Indonesia that is a bigger fault line than the one that already went and they speculate the pressure is building on it because of the last one.

Sorry about that. I just can't resist the little one.
Speaking of resist. We are supposed to resist evil. How do we go about this? Definitely not like some of those radical militias that want to go around blowing things up. Besides fervent prayer (bruise those knees) we need to get involved in any legal way we can before it is illegal to do so. Writing our Congressmen. If the Congressmen don't agree then we vote them out. Proselytize. The more true believers there are the better chances we have.
When all is done that can be done, having fought the good fight, we must rely on the hands of God to protect us.
Yes, eventually it will get to the point where it will seem that we are overcome for Jesus tells it will be such and He does not lie.
I think that you may be right, that this is the time that he was talking about when He said "see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet."
He also told us "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."
It tares my heart to think that my children and grandchildren may have to go through much worse but I rest in His hands that they are saved and He will care for them.

I really don't know who there are more of. There are many that profess to be Christian but are so liberal that they would agree with the removal of the 10C's from all public places.
But does it matter who has the largest numbers? After with Christ on our side they would be outnumbered if it were 1,000 of them to each 1 of us.

I agree with that.
They might destroy all those that are written in stone, but thank God there are some they will never destroy.
2Co 3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

They ruled against one 10C display but ruled for another. Supposedly the reason was that the display ruled for had other displays around it that were historical on non-religious therefore those 10C's was considered part of an historical display. The one ruled against stood out by itself therefore the intent of that display was religious.
Go figure...ruling on "intent of the display". Sounds like criminal laywer jargon.

Welcome to the forum NationalGuardMom,
Thank you, NGM for sharing that with us. You indeed have a right to be proud of your son. It warms my heart to hear or see such in our young of today.
Thank you and your husband for your service. It is because of people like you that we are able to worship openly in this country and that there is hope for this country through your teaching your son such values.
I hope that you will keep in touch with us and post more here.

I agree JN, I have no respect for our current Supreme Court either. This is all the more reason we need to pray for the people of this nation and those holding such power over it. It would help if Judge Rhenquist would retire and a sensible Judge takes his place.

I agree, M. People can be cruel. I know of a young lady that is educationally handicapped. A very smart young lady in all other aspects. She has what is known as a "lazy eye" where the eyelid droops. Because of these things many people teased her, calling her retard as well as many other things. She was verbally abused sexually also. She dressed in baggy blue jeans and sweat shirts even in the middle of a hot summer as a result. Some of this mistreatment was received from kids at church.
Thank God there was a few caring adults around her. Today she is happily married and the mother of a beautiful, sweet young daughter. She works daily with mentally, educationally and physically handicapped children trying to bring them to the Lord.
This is part of our many responsibilities as Christians to try to change. To bring these children to Jesus. To stop this type of abuse.

Whoa, I'm not even sure how to respond to this news. One second I'm reading that it's good, and the next second, I'm not. I'm thinking (phew, do you smell that smoke? ) that what the Evangelicals are doing is going to backfire because of the Iraqi culture. Or, am I just missing something here? I had the same reaction to it. I thought wow this is a pretty good thing. Then I started seeing jealousy, hatred and intolerance popping out. Is this caused by the Evangelicals or is it something inherit amongst the Iraqis from living in so many years of an intolerant govn't? Or as the article says from tight knit families that are intolerant of change in its family structure? Another thing that they are confronted with is that the people were not permitted to openly proselytize. Whatever the case may be the Evangelicals have their plates full. One advantage in my eyes are that the Evangelicals do not have family ties and therefore can bridge that gap where the current churches there are tied to staying within certain families. So it does have its pros and cons.
