58846  Entertainment / Computer Hardware and Software / Re:Critical Update for Windows Media Player Script Commands on: October 11, 2005, 04:02:06 PM
First I'll cover the things I don't know. Closing ports. I have never had the need to do that so I can't answer that question. My son always took care of that for me when he set up my system.

The icons at the bottom of your screen ..... are these inside the toolbar at the bottom or just above that. If they are in the toolbar are they in the quick access area or the active programs area?

If in the active programs area it will mean those programs are active and will take up more internal memory slowing down your computer. You can exit those that are not needed by left clicking on them and clicking on exit. If they are in the quick access area it doesn't hurt to leave them there.

Windows installer ...... a new copy of that can be received on the Microsoft update web site. If you go to their site and attempt to check for updates their system will automatically check the installer to see if it is a valid copy and should update it automatically if it isn't.

Without actually seeing your computer firsthand I can't be sure that your problem is fixed. You could probably check it by temporarily turning automatic updates back on for a short while. I would go to the updates site first though and do a check for updates function.

In case you don't have it the link is here:

You gave it away to me that time when I helped you with that "spooky video thread" in the email you sent me. However a little mystery helps keep things interesting so I won't tell.

It is really unbelievable sometimes just how much little children really pick up and remember. It is believed by some that children don't remember anything prior to the age of 5 or 6. Yet my son remembers things from when he was less than one year old that I am positive was not told to him either by anyone else.

So it is an important part of their learning process to include all that we can about God in their early training as well.

Cris,

I used Millenium for years. My son put a copy of XP on my system and I didn't like it and went back to Millinium. Then when I got a new computer it came with XP already on it. This version is different than the XP my son gave me and I like it so much better. It is not XP pro it is XP home version. It is really better than the Millenium. There are so fewer problems with crashes and other program errors. I don't have to defrag as often either.

I'm glad that you have the problem fixed. I think that I am just as confused as to what happened but at least it is fixed now.

Yeah, DW, don't overdo on that back. As far ahead as you are I don't think you are in any immediate danger of getting passed.

BTW ....  evolution is not a debateable subject on this forum. It is 100% false.

Can someone please help me understand clearly how the theory of evolution could possibly fit in with the Bible?

It doesn't and it has not been proven with hard facts.

All the information that you need is the Bible. The following links will help explain more of it.

Why is it some men don't like to go to doctors, and most men won't ask for directions when they get lost?Huh?
Is is a man thing??

Pride gets in the way of logic sometimes.

It may help to use the weaker sex ploy. Try telling him that you wouldn't be able to survive on your own if something happened to him. It usually works with me.

If that doesn't work try the frying pan.  Lips Sealed Lips Sealed Cheesy Cheesy
