Grin  Grin  I'm shocked that you would bring that up!

Just another electricity source, but I doubt it is very stable. To try it, Cris can simply climb a tree, hold a long rod up in the air, and have some romex going to the stove. Who knows - maybe you can cook a 20 pound turkey in 2 minutes. OR, one could impale the food on the rod and make a massive kabob!  Grin

Holding the rod would make a massive kabob also .....

Amen Brother, our freedoms that we enjoy are so precious and many want to give them away for the sake of "peace". I thank God that we have a peace  and freedom that so many of them will never understand until it is to late. It is my prayer that they will open their eyes so that they too will be able to enjoy that peace and freedom as we do.

It is also of great importance that we teach our children of these things.

There is still a big push going on to attempt to bring all Jews home and thereby bring the end times to a head.

 An Invitation to Return Home
by Eli Newman
November 10, 2005

If there's ever been a time to think seriously about making aliyah, that time is now.

Our people have been praying to the Almighty throughout the centuries for the Final Redemption. Our sages have instructed us that in the End of Days, preceding the Final Redemption, our people will have begun returning home in considerable numbers. This process is already well underway.

Right now, the majority of the global Jewish population still resides outside of Israel, but not by much. Every Jewish soul that relocates to Israel counts for two in this calculation; one towards increasing Israel's Jewish population, and one towards decreasing the number of Jews residing outside of Israel.

Religious or Political?

Whichever school of thought you're coming from, the Jewish Homeland is, was and will be in the Land of Israel. Not the United States, not the United Kingdom and certainly not Uganda. Still, after so many generations of wandering, "Next Year in Jerusalem" has lost meaning for some of us. Why stand and wave a flag at a pro-Israel rally in Washington, London or Toronto, when you can be contributing daily by living in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Haifa or Netanya?

It baffles me to hear Jews in the Diaspora complaining about Israel trading land for promises of peace with the Palestinians. I'm not a fan of these policies either, only because I don't believe they will be successful. However, as long as I'm not living in Israel, paying taxes in Israel, serving in the IDF, celebrating holidays on holy land or voting in Israel, who am I to complain?

G-d has shifted history for us such that we now have the option of going home without considerable difficulty, compared with the previous generations, who faced much peril on their road to Jerusalem.

Imagine if Nefesh B'Nefesh had been available to the Jews of Eastern Europe in the early 20th century? Or to the Jews of Spain in the Middle Ages?

What is Nefesh B'Nefesh?

Are you serious? If you still haven't heard of Nefesh B'Nefesh (NBN), I'd be honored and delighted to tell you a little bit about them.

NBN is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing Jews home. They've been at it for a few years so far. They help in so many ways. NBN has entire departments devoted to helping new olim find jobs and communities to live in. They also provide financial assistance to eligible applicants to help them get started.

Big Picture

We've been all over the world throughout our history. Often from one exile into the next. The only place left to go is home. North America is currently home to the majority of our people. Next is Israel, followed by England and France. When the majority of our people have settled in Israel, interesting things are sure to happen. In a political sense, most likely, and in a religious sense, most certainly.

What are you waiting for? Moshiach? It's coming. The Rambam said so. I believe him.

Seasonal Sentimentality

Following the holiday of Sukkot, let's keep in mind the differences between all that is temporary and all that is permanent. In starting to read the Torah again, let's try to understand it better this year.

Amity with Israel opens WTO door to Saudis
By John Zarocostas
The Washington Times
Published November 12, 2005

GENEVA -- Saudi Arabia has agreed to end all economic boycotts of Israel, allowing the World Trade Organization (WTO) yesterday to admit the oil-rich kingdom as its 149th member, diplomats said.

Saudi officials did not comment on the Israel boycott, which had been the key obstacle during the kingdom's 12-year bid to gain entry.

U.S. and Israeli officials said the boycott issue had been resolved.

"I am very satisfied with the fact that Saudi Arabia has complied with all the rules of the WTO," said Itzhak Levanon, Israel's ambassador to the global trade body.

"I hope it opens the door to a better future on the horizon in the region," the Israeli envoy said.

The WTO's ruling general council, which includes the United States and Israel, endorsed the Saudi entry during a special session yesterday.

The kingdom's minister for commerce and industry, Hashim Yamani, signed the protocol of accession, which means that Saudi Arabia will become a full member on Dec. 11, just days before a big WTO meeting in Hong Kong.

Mr. Yamani told delegates that the "door has been opened for one of the largest free-market economies to become a member.

To join, Saudi Arabia agreed to scrap all economic boycotts and it pledged not to resort to any future discriminatory trade measures against the Jewish state, diplomats said.

Restrictions on foreign investment in banking, insurance, telecommunications and other service industries had also been an obstacle.

The Saudi protocol will allow foreign ownership of up to 60 percent for banking and insurance, and up to 70 percent for telecommunications.

Pascal Lamy, WTO director-general, said in the accession process Saudi Arabia "undertook important economic reforms, which it is fair to say have touched virtually all sectors of its economy."

Saad Alfarargi, ambassador of the 22-member Arab League, said that Saudi Arabia's membership will benefit world trade.

"Saudi Arabia has its own weight, economically, commercially, and WTO membership will allow for more investments and employment," Mr. Alfarargi told The Washington Times.

John Weekes, a former Canadian chief trade negotiator and WTO ambassador, called Saudi Arabia's entry a major development for economies in the region.

"It's clear, more and more -- as witnessed with China's entry in 2001 -- that WTO membership and economic reforms go hand in hand," Mr. Weekes said.

He said that the completion of the Saudi-WTO entry talks "shows that those in the kingdom who want to promote modernization have prevailed."

WTO entry also signifies a major political victory for King Abdullah, who for years as crown prince championed a reform agenda for his kingdom of 26 million, diplomats said.

Saudi Arabia, the world's largest oil producer, was the world's 19th- largest exporter in 2004 with trade shipments worth $126.2 billion.

Bush: Radicals want to destroy Israel

Terror groups seeking more economic, military and political power 'to advance their stated agenda: to develop weapons of mass destruction, destroy Israel, intimidate Europe, assault American people, and to blackmail our government into isolation,' Bush says
Ynet

President George W. Bush on Saturday defended his decision to go to war in Iraq in a speech focusing on terrorism, saying that terror groups are exploiting Islam to justify their attacks and "push for the establishment of a totalitarian empire that denies all political and religious freedom."

Speaking at the Tobyhanna Army Depot, Pennsylvania, Bush said that the ultimate aim of Islamic radicalism is to destroy Israel, arguing that terror groups seek “greater economic, military and political power” which will enable them “to advance their stated agenda: to develop weapons of mass destruction; to destroy Israel; to intimidate Europe; to assault the American people; and to blackmail our government into isolation.”

Bush offered no concessions to “these extremists” who “have used a litany of excuses for violence: the Israeli presence on the West Bank, the U.S. military presence in Saudi Arabia, the defeat of the Taliban, or the Crusades of a thousand years ago. In fact, we're not facing a set of grievances that can be soothed and addressed. We're facing a radical ideology with inalterable objectives: to enslave whole nations and intimidate the world.”

In a clear assault on his critics Bush refuted claims that the war in Iraq has fueled terrorism. He warned that the free world should not underestimate the threat posed by a radical ideology that serves a clear set of evil goals.

With his popularity at an all-time low Bush reminded the American people that it is forbidden for the United States to withdraw from Iraq under mounting insurgencies and attacks aginat Iraqi and U.S. troops. “Against such an enemy, there is only one effective response: We will never back down, we will never give in, we will never accept anything less than complete victory,” Bush said.

Bush did not fail to touch on Syria and Iran, calling Damascus and Tehran authoritarian regimes, and accusing the two states of harboring
terror groups. “The influence of Islamic radicalism is also magnified by helpers and enablers. They've been sheltered by authoritarian regimes, allies of convenience, like Iran and Syria, that share the goal of hurting America and modern Muslim governments and use terrorist propaganda to blame their own failures on the West, on America and on the Jews,” he said.

Bush mentioned a recent “strident speech” by Syrian President Bashar Assad whom he accused of trying to intimidate and destabilize the Lebanese government, and reminded Damascus that it “must do what the international community has demanded: cooperate fully with the Mehlis investigation, and stop trying to intimidate and destabilize the Lebanese government. The government of Syria must stop exporting violence and start importing democracy.”

Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has said his country will recognize Israel when the Palestinian state is founded.

Musharraf received American Jewish Council head Jack Rosen, according to a statement issued by the President's Spokesman Shaukat Sultan and he said an independent state of Palestine is "sine quo non" for Pakistanis to officially recognize Israel. In response, Rosen conveyed Israel wished to establish diplomatic, commercial, and economic relations with Pakistanis.

Rosen also expressed Israel wants friendship with Pakistan, noting the Jewish congregation in the United States is collecting donations for the earthquake survivors in Pakistan.

Al-Qaida in Iraq threatens to attack Israel
By News Agencies

A Web statement Friday in the name of al-Qaida in Iraq, claiming the deadly hotel bombings in Amman, Jordan,
included a threat to Israel, Jordan's western neighbor. The statement noted that Jordan, which it described as Israel's "buffer zone," was now "within range" and "it will not be long before raids by the mujahedeen come" to Israel itself.

The statement said that the attacks in Amman were carried out by four Iraqis, including a husband and wife "who chose to accompany her husband to his martyrdom."

"All of these are Iraqis from the land between the two rivers," the statement said, alluding to Iraq's ancient name, Mesopotamia. "They vowed to die and they chose the shortest route to receive the blessings of God."

The statement could not be authenticated, but it appeared on a site which has included past al-Qaida statements and was signed in the name of the group's spokesman, Abu Maysara al-Iraqi.

Jordan's security forces were interrogating scores of Arab suspects, including Iraqis, on Friday in connection with three suicide bombings that killed at least 60 people in Amman hotels in attacks claimed by al-Qaida.

A Jordanian security official said some 120 suspects, mainly Iraqis and Jordanians, were arrested in roundups.

One day after Jordan's King Abdullah pledged to "pull from their holes" militants behind one of the worst attacks to hit Jordan in its modern history, authorities stepped up a hunt for Islamic underground cells across the kingdom.

A security source told Reuters police conducted searches on Thursday in impoverished Amman neighborhoods where many Iraqi workers live. No more details were provided.

"The authorities are interrogating a wide range of suspects from different nationalities including Iraqi nationals to gather evidence that can lead us to the culprits," Interior Minister Awni Yarfas told Reuters.

In near-simultaneous attacks on Wednesday night, two suicide bombers turned crowded wedding parties into bloody scenes of destruction at the Grand Hyatt and the nearby Radisson SAS in central Amman. A third targeted a Days Inn hotel.

The attacks killed at least 57, most of them Jordanians, and wounded 96 but health officials have warned the death toll could climb as 16 people remained in critical condition.

Yarfas said forensic experts were conducting DNA analyses on what security officials believe are the remains of the bombers.

In a televised address on national television late on Thursday, a somber-looking King Abdullah said:

"We will pursue those criminals and those who are behind them, and we will reach them wherever they are."

Authorities said the attacks, which have shattered the sense of stability in U.S. ally Jordan, were executed by three suicide bombers wearing explosive belts; two entered the hotels, while a third blew himself up outside the hotel.

Al Qaeda in Iraq, led by Jordanian militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, said in a statement on an Islamic Web site that "a group of our best lions" had carried out the attacks against the hotels because they were used by U.S. and Israeli spies.

58121  Theology / Debate / Re:hate on: November 12, 2005, 12:45:29 PM
Amen Brother Tom,

If we hate the sinner how can we honestly try to witness to them and try to bring them to Christ when our hearts hardened toward them? For that is what happens when a person hates, their hearts are hardened toward that which they hate. This is what happened to Pharoah when Moses was dealing with him. His heart was hardened toward God. He hated God.

Whe we hate sin our hearts becaome hardened toward that sin and we do not want anything to do with it the sin any longer.

We need to have compassion (love) toward those that are mired in sin so that we can attempt to help them and bring them to our Lord and Saviour. By having this compassion for them we are also showing them what true love is.

Bush attacks Iraq war critics

Washington: Attacking the critics of Iraq war as "irresponsible", US President George W. Bush has said that those who criticised his move were "trying to rewrite history" and undercutting American forces on the front lines. "The stakes in the global war on terror are too high and the national interest is too important for politicians to throw out false charges," Bush said at a speech on the occasion of Veterans Day on Friday at Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania.

"While it's perfectly legitimate to criticise my decision or the conduct of the war, it is deeply irresponsible to rewrite the history of how that war began," he said. Defending his decision to go to war, the US president said that foreign intelligence services and Democrats and Republicans alike were convinced at the time that former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction.

"Some Democrats and anti-war critics are now claiming we manipulated the intelligence and mislead the American people about why we went to war," he said. Bush said those critics have made those allegations although they know that a Senate investigation "found no evidence" of political pressure to change the intelligence community's assessments related to Saddam's weapons programme.

"These baseless attacks send the wrong signal to our troops and to an enemy that is questioning America's will." Bush also asked Syria to "stop trying to intimidate and destabilise" Lebanon, and to cooperate fully with the UN probe into the slaying of former Lebanese premier Rafiq Hariri.

_______________

The following I received by email from the Patriot Alert that shows the truth about this situation:

On the heels of the "White House -- CIA leak" investigation, which concluded that no laws were broken (but charged one administration staffer with perjury), liberals are attempting to parlay that non-starter into a much bigger political brawl. Their charges have no substance, and are completely contrived to keep Republicans off balance through next year's midterm elections.

Sens. Ted Kennedy, Harry Reid and Dick Durbin have accused President George Bush of lying about Iraq's Weapons of Mass Destruction, insisting he "lied us into war." They are even floating the suggestion that he be impeached.

Here are their accusations:

"The Bush administration misrepresented and distorted the intelligence to justify a war that America should never have fought." --Ted Kennedy

"We all know the Vice President's office was the nerve center of an operation designed to sell the war and discredit those who challenged it. ... The manipulation of intelligence to sell the war in Iraq...the Vice President is behind that." --Harry Reid

"I seconded the motion Sen. Harry Reid made last week. Republicans in Congress have refused, despite repeated promises, to investigate the Bush administration's misuse of pre-war intelligence, so Senate Democrats are standing up and demanding the truth." -- Dick Durbin, who recently compared U.S. troops to the Nazis and Pol Pot.

Naturally, the Democrat's media lemmings are reporting these charges as de facto truth, but there is considerable evidence that these Demo-gogues and their colleagues believed Iraq had WMD long before President George Bush came to Washington. Here is a small sample of that evidence from the Clinton years:

Bill Clinton: "If Saddam rejects peace, and we have to use force, our purpose is clear: We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program."

Madeleine Albright, Clinton Secretary of State: "We must stop Saddam from ever again jeopardizing the stability and the security of his neighbors with weapons of mass destruction."

Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Advisor and Classified Document Thief: "[Saddam will] use those weapons of mass destruction again as he has ten times since 1983."

Harry Reid: "The problem is not nuclear testing; it is nuclear weapons. ... The number of Third World countries with nuclear capabilities seems to grow daily. Saddam Hussein's near success with developing a nuclear weapon should be an eye-opener for us all."

Dick Durbin: "One of the most compelling threats we in this country face today is the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. Threat assessments regularly warn us of the possibility that...Iraq...may acquire or develop nuclear weapons."

John Kerry: "If you don't believe...Saddam Hussein is a threat with nuclear weapons, then you shouldn't vote for me."

John Edwards: "Serving on the Intelligence Committee and seeing day after day, week after week, briefings on Saddam's weapons of mass destruction and his plans on using those weapons, he cannot be allowed to have nuclear weapons, it's just that simple. The whole world changes if Saddam ever has nuclear weapons."

Nancy Pelosi: "Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology, which is a threat to countries in the region, and he has made a mockery of the weapons-inspection process."

Sens. Levin, Lieberman, Lautenberg, Dodd, Kerrey, Feinstein, Mikulski, Daschle, Breaux, Johnson, Inouye, Landrieu, Ford and Kerry in a letter to Bill Clinton: "We urge you, after consulting with Congress and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions, including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs."

After President Bush was sworn into office in 2001, his administration was handed eight years worth of intelligence analysis and policy positions from the Clinton years -- you know, the years of appeasement when Saddam was tolerated, when opportunities to take out Osama bin Ladin were ignored, as was the presence of an al-Qa'ida terrorist cell in the U.S. -- which reared its head on 9/11.

In the weeks prior to the invasion of Iraq, Democrats, who had access to the same intelligence used by the Bush administration (much of which was compiled under the Clinton administration), were clear about the threat of Iraq's WMD capability.

Ted Kennedy: "We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction."

John Kerry: "I will be voting to give the president of the U.S. the authority to use force if necessary to disarm Saddam because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security. ... Without question we need to disarm Saddam Hussein."

Hillary Clinton: "In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock. His missile-delivery capability, his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists including al-Qa'ida members. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."

Carl Levin: "We begin with a common belief that Saddam Hussein...is building weapons of mass destruction and the means of delivering them."

Al Gore: "We know that he has stored nuclear supplies, secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country."

Bob Graham: "We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has and has had for a number of years a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction."

For the record: Here's a partial list of what didn't make it out of Iraq before the OIF invasion: 1.77 metric tons of enriched uranium, 1,700 gallons of chemical-weapon agents, chemical warheads containing the nerve agent cyclosarin, radioactive materials in powdered form designed for dispersal over population centers, artillery projectiles loaded with binary chemical agents, etc. Assuming Irag had no WMD because only small caches were recovered after Operation Iraqi Freedom began is perilously flawed logic. That, in no way, affirms what he spirited out through Iran and Syria before OIF.

So, ask Ted, Dick and Harry, what is their real agenda?

One might fairly conclude that they are willing to reduce U.S. national security to political fodder by accusing the President of the United States of "lying." Problem is, the President had no political motive for Operation Iraqi Freedom -- only a legitimate desire to fulfill the highest obligation of his office -- to defend our liberty against all threats.

Ted, Dick and Harry, on the other hand, have plenty of political motivation for their most recent antics -- and all of America should look upon these disgraceful Demo-gogues, and anyone who supports this dangerous folly, as traitorous louts.

On Veterans Day, President Bush noted: "Today our nation pays tribute to our veterans -- 25 million vets.... At this hour, a new generation of Americans is defending our flag and our freedom in the first war of this century. This war came to our shores on the morning of September 11, 2001. ... We know that they want to strike again and our nation has made a clear choice. We will confront this mortal danger to all humanity. We will not tire or rest until the War on Terror is won. ... t is deeply irresponsible to rewrite the history of how that war began. ... We will never back down. We will never give in. We will never accept anything less than complete victory."

Amen LittlePilgrim.

GKB,

Those that go directly to the wife as a first step are instigators of trouble, whether they purposefully intend to be an instigator or not.

Jesus teaches us in Mat 18 : 15 - 18 how we are to deal with a brother that does wrong to us, which is the steps that LittlePilgrim mentioned. I do believe that this should apply also if we see a person doing wrong to others as we are told to admonish our brothers that are unruly.
