1  Theology / Debate / Re:Freemasonry on: December 02, 2005, 12:35:44 PM
Freemasonry is it's own "religion"...cult is the term I prefer. Yes, anyone can join, but they have their own services and what not. Now, let me ask you this storm, when you go and join your local freemason's lodge, will you tell them you want no part of the initiations? Things such as the ceremonial stabbings, slit throats and the like? Those aren't things that only the "bad eggs" lodges do. Those are fundamental Masonic rituals and beliefs. You should really do more research before you commit to something like the Masons. If you want more info, just do a Google search and see what you come up with. Your very salation may depend on it.

Robert
2  Prayer / Prayer Requests / Re:Urgent - Intercessory Prayer Needed on: August 20, 2005, 02:10:50 AM
Thank you DW. I have been staying busy over at The Fifth Day with Bronze and also, life has been kinda weird lately, as you can see with this prayer request.

Also, I have been going to worship team practice for my church as a back up drummer and now it looks as though we are going to start a youth worship team where I'll be the main drummer. Cannot wait for that.

God Bless,
Robert
3  Prayer / Prayer Requests / Urgent - Intercessory Prayer Needed on: August 19, 2005, 02:16:28 PM
I guess I'll give a little back-ground information first. I'm going to use their first names also so that if you decide to add them to your daily or weekly prayer list, you can pray for them by name.

I met Charlie and Julie about seven or eight years ago. They both worked at the same place I did. I worked with them for about eight months and then I left the job. I never knew they were Christians. About a year or so after I left the job, I got really bad into drugs, so I called my mom and asked her if I could move in with her to get my life back on track. My mom also lives here and worked at the same place as Charlie and Julie.

Well, I decided to go back and see if I could have my old job back. They let me work there again and both my mom and Charlie & Julie were still employed there. Our employer ended up joining a local softball tourney and I played. So did Charlie and Julie. After our last game, Julie approached me and asked if I would want to go to church with them. I said sure, not thinking anything but I was just being nice. To make a long story short, I went to church with them and ended up getting saved. So, Charlie and Julie literally saved my life.

Now to the prayer request. Recently, my wife and I had Charlie and Julie over for dinner. After they left our house, they picked up a hitchhiker and ended up taking him home to feed him dinner. This guy firmly believes he is a prophet from God. But to tell the truth, he is an evil man blinded by satan. Satan has a firm hold on this man and he ended up getting Charlie and Julie hooked. I forgot to add that Charlie's dad is the Pastor at the Assembly of God church in the town where they live.

Anyway, we got to Charlie before it was too late and he is back with us. We were scared for him for a while because when we all got there, he was basically catatonic. He was firmly in satan's grasp. He truly believed what this hitchhiker was selling. Well, we got to him and with-in three days we prayed him back from satan's grasp. Julie, on the other hand, is a lost soul right now.

She ended up telling Charlie that they were never married in God's eyes even though it was Charlie's dad, the Pastor (I believe), who married them. Anyway, Julie says they were married before man and not God so she told Charlie that they are now divorced. She also told her parents that they aren't her parents. Don't understand where that came from or how this hitchhiker got her to believe that, but her parents are just devastated. Julie grew up in the church and has been a saved Christian since she was a young girl. So you can see what a shock this is and why it it's so hard to fathom just how easily satan got her to change her values, beliefs and whatnot within three days.

So I'm here, on my knees before God, asking anyone and everyone who will to pray for Julie's salvation, to pray for Charlie's and Julie's reconciliation and pray for this hitchhiker to see that satan is the one he is working for and for God to really open his eyes to the Truth. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. This hitchhiker guy also believes that the only book in the Bible that is inspired by God is Revelation because in Revelation it says that God commanded John to write it but it doesn't say that in any other book. I know, we know that all of the Bible is God's Word and that the whole Bible and all of scripture is the inspired Word of God.

There, kind of a long prayer request, but there it is. If I didn't make myself clear enough (as I know I'm ranting a little because this hits so close to home), you can send me a PM and I'll clear it up for you. But I do ask that you keep Charlie and Julie, their church, the hitchhiker and all of us involved in trying to reach Julie (to get her back), I ask that you keep us in your prayer. And if it's God's will, that he will restore this whole situation to where it needs to be in order to fulfill His devine plan.

Thank you so much for those of you that choose to intercede for us. God bless you all.

In His Service,
Robert

Wow, what a powerful two paragraphs. Thank you for posting that. My wife and I have been going through a somewhat rough patch. We have both been verbally abusive to each other and have said things which I can only believe satan put us up to. This post has shown me how to get through. Thank you so very much.

Robert
5  Theology / Apologetics / Re:Mormon on: March 11, 2005, 08:18:45 PM
Once again, my friend has a powerpoint presentation on CD on Mormonism. If anyone would like a copy, PM with your address.

Just a few facts about Mormonism: Joseph Smith wrote the Book of Mormom with the help of a seer stone. He put this stone in his hat, put his head down to the hat and covered the sides of his head. He did this for some time, can't remember how long, and dictated the whole book to someone (maybe his wife, have to look that up).

The Book of Mormom has been changed or modified over 2000 times!!

The Mormom religion is not even the same religion that was taught when it was first "invented."

Joseph Smith was also affiliated, very much so, to the Free Masons.

If you go to the Mormom Temple in Salt Lake City, there are pentagrams all over the building.

If a woman wants to leave the church, then the church elders try and help mend the marriage. If they cannot, they counsel the man to leave and divorce the woman.

Mormonism is NOT, and I repeat NOT, Christianity. If Mormon doctrine is to be believed, then Adolf Hitler is in heaven. How you ask? Because Mormoms believe that when you die, if you aren't saved, someone can get baptised in your place and then you go to heaven. Scary thought.

If you'd like more info, let me know. I could go on for days. I used to be a baptised Mormom. Another scary thought.

I have a really good friend who I go to church with. He has done a very in depth study on Freemasons and their practices. Now, he has a power point presentation on CD of it and what the Masons are really about. If anyone wants a copy, let me know. PM with your info. Not sure if I can deliver, but I'll do my best.

Now, I'm not going to post a whole page of info here as I see a lot has been posted on the subject already. I haven't read through it all yet, but I will when time permits. I just want to add something that may or may not have been stated already. This was all I needed to hear to know that I and all Christians should avoid getting involved with free masonry:

It is against Masonic law to say Jesus in a Masonic Temple or at any Masons meeting.

I'll post a follow up in the next couple of days after my friend gets off of work and let anyone know if I can get a copy of his Masons power point presentation. If I can, I would be very happy to copy it and send it to anyone who wants it. I believe he also has one on the Mormon church. I'll see what I can do.

God Bless,
Robert

While I'm not like anything in your testimony, I do have quite a bit of stuff holding me down. Or should I say a bunch of stuff I'm letting hold me down. I should be doing way better in my walk with the Lord. I guess, like that infamous train said, "I think I can, I think I can!" Except I'm changing a word in there to change my outlook on my life's experiences. "I KNOW I can, I KNOW I can!!" Thanx for that testimony. Really laying it on my heart.

God Bless,

9  Theology / General Theology / Re:4 "P's" You Can't Live Without! on: March 02, 2005, 12:03:00 PM
Thank you AllInAll for that simple plan of salvation. I think, in my head, I might be trying to make it alot more difficult then it really is. Now I see just exactly what it is I need to do to get where I want to go. Thanx.

BEP, I ask myself that very question on a pretty regular basis. (Thinking in head "If I was to be told that if I witness and evangelize where I am at, I could be tortured and even possibly executed for my beliefs, would I have the strength to do it anyway?") I pray that I will if ever that situation comes up, but sometimes worry that I'd faulter. I guess I won't know unless it happens.

Thank you both for posting something I needed to see.

God Bless,
RObert

In your studying, might I suggest you watch Dr. Hovind's seminar? It's quite long I have to admit, but so far, the three hours of it I watched have been totally worth it and have helped me fel better about where I came from.

Sorry. Just gettin excited because I'm seeing the truth in this. I've been having a hard time as of late and although I'm learning about Creation, I also think that I'm getting stronger and closer to the Lord through it. Your website is sweet. I've only just glanced a little through it, but I think it'll be a big help to me. Thanx for all your hard work on putting it together.

Not sure if y'all want any more facts proving evolution wrong, but I think I have a few good ones.

First off let me start with something that really isn't having a whole lot to do with this: We live in a UNIVERSE! The word universe comes from (can't remember origins):
                        UNI ---->  SINGLE
                        VERSE --> SPOKEN SENTENCE

So we live in a single spoken sentence --> And God said, "Let there be!"

Anyway, I'll try and keep my facts together and organized, but I didn't do a good job of it on paper. Now remember, these notes come from only watching two hours of the first DVD and there are 7 DVD's.

Random Fact: There are enough stars in the uni-verse so that every human person on Planet Earth could have 20,000,000,000,000 or 20 Trillion of their own. Wow.

Anyway, here we go. Nobody hase ever seen a star being formed. People see stars dieing. That's called either a nova or supernove. But noone can prove the formation of a new star. Something stuck in my head and I was going to look it up in the Bible but didn't have to:

Quote from: Bronzesnake on 21:49 Fri, 21 January 2005
God says He created each life after it's own kind, He was very specific about this. Why do you think He clarified that fact?
Quote
Quote from: Sleeker on 21:49 Fri, 21 January 2005
Um... What?  He created each "life" after it's own "kind?"  What does that mean?

To clarify that Sleeker, a dog mates it will have a dog. Might be a small or big dog. Maybe even a different color or breed of dog, but still a dog in the end.

The first law of thermodynamics states: Matter can neither be created nor destroyed.
This leaves two options
     1) God made the Earth, or;
     2) The Earth made itself (Big Bang Theory).

Big Bang Theory
18 - 20 Billion years ago (here comes the fairy tale) all matter in the universe (that's a lot of stuff) concentrated into a dot no bigger then a period on this page. Wow, that's one heavy period. And not only did this happen 18 - 20 Billion years ago, but it happens every 80 - 100 Billion years. This Dot came from nothing. Said dot got spinning so fast that it exploded. Thus, the planets, stars, Solar systems and universe were formed. To break it down and make it real easy to understand here's the Big Bang Theory in a sentence: We all came from a dot, and the dot came from nothing.

Now, there's a law, the law of the Conservation of Angular Momentum that states that all matter coming from or off of original dot should be spinning the same way as the original dot. If this Big Bang Theory is true then how come 2 possibly 3 planets in our own solar system spin backwards? How come 8 of 91 known moons spin backwards? How come there are even some galaxies that spin backwards?

Now to my last part for now. Evolutionist scientists use Radio Carbon Dating (RCD) to date fossils and what not they find. Here are two examples of why RCD is inaccurate.

     1) The lower leg of the Fairbanks Creek Mammoth was Radio Carbon Dated age of 15,380 Radio Carbon Years (RCY) while the skin and flesh were RCD at 21,300. Did this mammoth have a slow birth or even slower death? Lose a leg somewhere in his life? (I'm working on getting the bibliography info for these examples as the resolution stank so I couldn't read them).

2)One part of the Vollosovitch Mammoth was RCD at 29,500 and another part was RCD at 44,000. (Once again, biblio info forthcoming).

I leave you with a last thought. Off subject but it deals with a good thinking process. A lot of people want to believe that they are going to heaven due to their good works and not based on faith, righteousness and justification. But think about this, If you kill one person, will the judge be leniant or let you go because of all the other people you didn't kill? After all the people you didn't kill (GOOD WORKS) you will be judged on the one person you did kill (SIN).

God Bless,
Robert

Just something for you guys to take a look at. Or look into. Dr. Kent Hovind has a Creation vs. Evolution seminar on DVD called The Age of the Earth. I think Age of the Earth is only the title of part 1, but I'm not quite sure as I'm just getting into them.

Anyway, from what I've heard, this is some good stuff with a lot of very solid evidence that the earth is not millions and millions of years old. I'll report back after I've watched more of it. In the meantime, here is Dr. Hovind's website: http://www.drdino.com. Hope y'all enjoy it and hope you guys that buy into the evolution theory check this out. It'll change your life.

God Bless,
Robert

I'm lovin' it so far. Not sure how to use it all yet, but I'll get the hang of it. Took quite a bit of time yesterday and today going through it and also downloaded quite a bit of the commentaries, dictionaries, some graphics, one devotional and a few different Bible translations.

Thanx again for the warm welcome back and may God pour out His blessings on you and everyone.

God Bless,
Robert
