And what you remember of the book brother, what did you think?
168  Entertainment / Books / The Normal Christian Life on: October 22, 2004, 07:07:15 AM
Please forgive me if anyone has recommended this book before but just in case they haven't i wanted to bring it to light.
I read a book a few months ago called The Normal Christian Life by Watchman Nee and for me, this is one of, if not the best book i have read. For ease, i printed it out and have placed it in a folder and have kept it for future use. This book explains in simple terms (and for me, thats what i need) about our place in Christ and how we need to rest in him, letting Christ live his life through us. So often we do things that we believe is for God, but thats not what he wants. He wants to express himself through us, living his life through us. I really would recommend this book to everyone and if your intrested just click the following link.

Bro Tom

Thanks for the link to the christian radio online. I wil definetly check this out in the morning... It's funny how, when i became born again, i really was not that fond of the old sort of Gospel music and hymns. Was into the newer, more modern stuff. But now i find the words to the older stuff are so much more meaningful. Thats not to say i don't like the newer stuff anymore. Much of it is so so good... Before i became a child of God and even after conversion, i really could not stand Amazing Grace. But now you've guessed it. It's my fav hymn. Just awesome words...Anyway, i have wandered a bit here  Wink

If anyone is intrested in listerning to a couple of online radio stations here in the UK, click the following links and hope they bless you.

The Cowboy Without A Horse

A cowboy rode into town and stopped at a saloon for a drink. Unfortunately,
the locals always had a habit of picking on strangers. When he finished his
drink, he found his horse had been stolen.

He went back into the bar, handily flipped his gun into the air, caught it
above his head without even looking and fired a shot into the ceiling.

"Which one of you sidewinders stole my horse?" he yelled forcefully.

No one answered.

"All right, I'm gonna have another beer, and if my horse ain't back outside
by the time I finish, I'm gonna do what I dun in Texas! And I don't like to
have to do what I dun in Texas!"

Some of the locals shifted restlessly. The man, true to his word, had
another beer, walked outside, and his horse has been returned to the post.

He saddled up and started to ride out of town. The bartender wandered out of
the bar and asked, "Say partner, before you go, what happened in Texas?"

The cowboy turned back and said, "I had to walk home."

Hi Guys

This is my first proper post on these boards and hopefully many more to come.
Found this thread really intresting as it is something i think about often. I live in the UK and over here, on Satellite TV, we have wwe wrestling on most days. I often sit down with my son and watch the wrestling and on the whole find it enjoyable and good entertaiment. But recently, i have been asking myself if it is appropriate. A couple of my concerns would be, as others have mentioned, the way females are protrayed and the way they dress and then there is the question of certain wrestlers with there names and what they represent. One that come's straight to mind is the undertaker and the stunts he comes up with. Now i know its only acting, but i have to ask myself, is this something that we should be watching and more importantly, should we be allowing our younger children to watch it? Would be intrested in what other dads think, where letting children watch these programs are concerned.
