16  Prayer / General Discussion / How to pray with spouse? on: August 25, 2004, 10:58:54 AM
My wife and I were Christians long before we were married. We both have a very intimate relationship and a strong prayer life with God. Individually that is.

When it comes to praying together we struggle. I think that we are so used to praying alone for so many years that we just don't know how to pray together, and find it very awkward. I think that our individual prayers are so intimate with God that we find it very difficult to have the same level of prayer together.

Our marriage has been good. But this is a very important part of our marriage that is lacking and has caused some difficulty.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

As Christians that give themselves to God, we will help those that God positions us to help. God is in control and He will put us where He wants us. Those are the ones we will help. Regardless of who or what they are.

I think you're seriously overstating the consequences when you say..."the pre-trib rapture myth will lead many to eternal hell, all because a couple of authors found money to be more important than truth"

Well said.

I don't think microchip inplants are the mark of the beast. Although I do not like the idea at all for many obviuos resons.

As someone said in a post way back in page 2 or 3 of this thread, I take the Bible very literally.

Having microchip inplants as the mark of the beast is a lot like the people that think the locust described in Revelations are actually Military helicopters.

With all the "miracles" and such, I just can't see it as being a technology thing.

Rev 13:13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
Rev 13:14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

With all those things being seen by everyone, none will be able to deny a spiritual existance anymore. Therefor I think that the mark will be of a much different nature than inplants. My guess is that it will possibey be something done by the continuing "miracles" of the beast. Something that will continue to WOW the people. Because you know that people forget one or two miracles, it happened so many times in the Bible.

It will definitly be something that everyone will be able to see. Something that everyone can look at with just a glance and say "he is a believer" or "he is not one of us".

I will in no way volunteer to have a chip inplanted in any part of my body. But i just don't think that scripture supports the mark of the beast as being a microchip inplant.

It will happen just as the Bible says that it will. No more, no less.

Hijack is a very valuable tool. I use it often to check on things.

I have been at SWI and Tom Coyote forums for about 8 months. I learn in their classrooms but don't have much time for posting to practice logs, so I haven't any status at either one.

Glad to see a fellow spyware warrior around.  Cool

Reference LavaSoft AdAware, I've used it and think it is great. It does stop some of the hijacking and exploit type programs (i.e. trojans). It also has a top rating, but it doesn't offer all of the features of SpyBot. I know that they try to keep both up to date, but I think that you need the commercial version of AdAware to get most of the features of SpyBot. SpyBot is free, so my WALLET made the choice.

You are right that the free version of Ad-Aware does not stop anything. But it does remove maleware from your computer. It picks up things that Spybot S&D does not, and Spybot picks up things that Ad-Aware does not.  So it is a good idea to use them both to scan your computer for maleware.

Gracey, excellent list. The only thing I would add is that if you use Hijackthis, don't FIX anything until you consult an expert at a spyware related forum. Like the ones in Gracey's list. It could severely damage your system if you don't know what you are doing.

Sincereheart, I wouldn't give up my N64 for nothing.  Grin  I still like a lot of those games.  Cool

God and Jesus, one and the same. It really doesn't matter. God knows your heart and mind. Your prayers are before Him even before you begin.

personally, i dont find symbols and the such hurtful to me.  im stronger than that.

No Jester, God is stronger than that.

I do agree with most of what you said.  Symbols don't bother me either. My children are fully aware of most pagen symbols and what they mean. I allow my older one to play games that many would find very offensive. Their faith is strong and they know what is real  and what is not.

I know this is not for everyone.
