Active during Josiah's reign, this prophet spoke about judgment and the coming "day of the Lord."(Zehaniah, Habakkuk, Micah) I think it is "Zephaniah" (Zep 1:1 KJV) The word of the LORD which came unto Zephaniah the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hizkiah, in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah. (Zep 1:7 KJV) Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of the LORD is at hand: for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests. In Christian love Dave H.

I sure get a charge out of reading the replies here, as to new ropes, and so on A** *** *a**, *et t*ere *e ****t: a** t*ere *a* ****t.
I am going out on a limb here and call for an "L" and even kick the stool out from under me, or trip my own trap door and at this time make a wild guess and go with Genesis 1:3 "And God said, Let there be light: and there was light". In Christian love Dave H

Paul, newly converted to Christianity, enraged the Jewish leaders in a certain city, so they decided to murder him. His friends let him down in a basket through the city wall. What city was it?
(Exodus, Acts, Romans) Damascus (Act 9:22 KJV) But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ. (Act 9:25 KJV) Then the disciples took him by night, and let him down by the wall in a basket. Paul also speaks of this while he was in the church of Corinth (2Co 11:32 KJV) In Damascus the governor under Aretas the king kept the city of the Damascenes with a garrison, desirous to apprehend me: (2Co 11:33 KJV) And through a window in a basket was I let down by the wall, and escaped his hands. What is more amazing is that he was originally on his way to Damascus to persecute any of the Lord's disciples that he could find there, and our Lord Jesus appeared to him. (Act 9:1 KJV) And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, (Act 9:2 KJV) And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. (Act 9:3 KJV) And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: (Act 9:4 KJV) And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? (Act 9:5 KJV) And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. (Act 9:6 KJV) And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. I reckon we could keep right on with this and about Paul's conversion, so I better just leave off here and anxiously await the next question. In Christian love Dave H.

Thank you "DW" and "Tom" for praying for God's church. What makes this so sad is that our Pastor is a man of God, and is an excellent messenger of God's word, so he will be missed very much.
I know that God is at work and has everything under control, and His church will recover from these trying times.
God bless you In Christian love Dave H.

Prayer / Prayer Requests / God's church

God's church that I go to here is in need of prayer. Our pastor is resigning in a few weeks, and we are in need of very much prayer during the transitions we will be faced with.
We are a very small town and needless to say, the gossip mill has spread faster than the Gospell over the past few months, many have left because of the rumors, which leaves a small committee to do the work that God requires of us.
In need of prayers Dave H.

What king of Judah became king at age seven and was aided in his reign by the saintly priest Jehoiada?
(2 Kings, 1 Samuel, Daniel) Joash (2Ki 11:21 MKJV) Joash was seven years old when he began to reign. (2Ki 12:1 MKJV) And in the seventh year of Jehu, Joash began to reign. And he reigned in Jerusalem forty years. And his mother's name was Zibiah of Beer-sheba. (2Ki 12:2 MKJV) And Joash did the right in the sight of Jehovah all his days in which Jehoiada the priest instructed him. In Christian love Dave H.

Greetings fellow Christians:
I also find "E-Sword" a great resource, not only the various versions, but it also has many references available for helping me study God's Word. I have Win/XP and the latest "E-Sword" version 7.9.8 without any hang-ups.

hello guy's i know it's kind of hard to help me with so little information but hopefully someone can.
the first song i remember part of the lyrics i know it was a man singing and they lyrics i remember are not from the start of the song so that doesn't help.
here goes....
"to cross the bridge to the other side, to a place that i know was paradise, and that bridge tumbled and it swayed, they said id have it made when i crossed over, the bridge."
the next song is even older than the first i remember it from about 15 years ago.......wow.... i know that old but this one is interpreted by a woman.
"lord please be the light to guide the road where i roam"
thats it, any hints would help ....please!
may God bless you all, Tusita
the 1st one is The Bridge by Lenny LeBlanc Copyright 1996 LenSongs Publishing I am having a bit of trouble finding the 2nd one, is there any other verses or lyrics that you can recall? In Christian love Dave H.

What sexual sin did Paul see as the result of not worshiping the true God?
(1 Corinthians, Romans, Hebrews) fornication (1Corinthians 5:1 KJVR) It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. (1Co 5:1 GW) Your own members are aware that there is sexual sin going on among them. This kind of sin is not even heard of among unbelievers-a man is actually married to his father's wife.
