1  Fellowship / Just For Women / Praise Party or Get Together on: August 16, 2004, 07:43:55 PM

Praise the Lord Sisters,

Whatever you want to call it.  Praise party or a Praise get together.  Why don't we have one?  Oh I think it would be awesome.  Send out invitations to the people that you know love to talk about the Lord.  I mean He is their conversation.  Tell them ahead of time, to come prepared to give their testimony on the greatest thing they think that the Lord has done for them.  Their greatest praise report.
This is a party where we talk about nothing but the Lord.  Our total conversation that evening is all about Him.  Giving Him praise.  He is the focus.  He gets all the glory.  We're just going to share with each other how much we love Him, thank Him, and appreciate all that He does.  He is the guest of honor.  I believe God is going to love it, because it is all about Him.  If we play a game, let it be a Biblical one.  For example if we play Password, all the words that we use will be Biblical.  No conversation about work, school, husband, wife, children, unless you are praising God for these things.  The main reason for this party, is to uplift Jesus.  The party could be like from five to nine.  Serve a full course meal, or finger sandwiches, salad, dessert, and ice tea or soft drinks.
We have a party for everything else, why not for Him.  We have birthday parties, celebrating the birth of one another.  We have Anniversary parties.
We have baby showers.  Retirement parties.  Engagement parties.  Why not have a party celebrating Jesus?  Saints of God coming together in a small setting to uplift His Name.  I talked it over with hubby and we both are excited about it.  We're going to do it when we come back from our vacation.  Now if your conversation isn't normally about Jesus, you may have a hard time hosting.  The hostess job is to keep it going.  Create questions to ask.  The hostess must remember that Jesus is the topic.  Not the main topic, but the only topic.  Do you know the more we talk about the Lord,  the more excited we'll get about serving Him?   We'd  stay out of trouble if our minds were focused more on Him.   He is what we live for.  He is the one we will be with, when we leave this earth.  When we share our testimonies with each other, it encourages us.  God is awesome.  This party will be an opportunity to hear, the many many testimonies of others, that you would not normally hear.  In church we can't tell it all, but at this party we can at least hear more than we usually do.  Think about it!  Talking about Jesus.  Sharing testimonies about Jesus.  Uplifting Jesus.  Praising Jesus.  Oh what a time.  What a time.  What a time.
I'm going to do it!

Love you, Rose

My Dear Friends:
I'm telling you God is so good.  The song says, " He keeps on doing great things for me".  Sunday morning in church, I got so sick.  All of a sudden I felt like I was going to pass out.  I felt so bad I said, " Let me get up from here and let the man of God pray for me.  It was during our praise and worship service.  I just went straight up to the altar where the Pastor was standing near his seat, took his hands, and told him how sick I was.  He laid his hand on my head, prayed the prayer of faith, and I turned around to go back to my seat and immediately God touched my body.  By the time I got back to my seat, it was gone, and I was praising God.  Yep!  He keeps on doing great things for me.  I give Him praise.  And as always, I had to share it with my brothers and sisters.  He is go good.  All day and even now I am still rejoicing.

Love Sis. Rose

Praise the Lord Everybody!

Hubby took my car in for inspection.  It failed the low emission test.
So we had to take it to a place where they do the diagnostic test to find out why it failed.  In the meantime we prayed and asked God to let it not be much money.  Bills have gone up and it's pretty tight.  They said it would cost sixty five dollars for the diagnostic test to find out what was wrong, and then we would have to go from there of how much it would cost to fix it.  So that would be sixty five and no telling how much to fix.  Saints God is a prayer answering God.  I just want to praise Him.  They called us today.  They checked everything and could not find anything wrong.  Everything passed no problem.  All they charged us was for the safety inspection fee, and the emission test fee.  Total 39.50.  I was just so excited when the lady called, I said, " Oh isn't God good?  She said, "  He works in mysterious ways.".  I said, " Thank you Jesus".    We didn't even have to pay the 65.00 diagnostic fee.  God takes care of His people.  So faithful.  had to share that with you.  He just keeps on doing great things for me.  Thank you Jesus!  Thank you so much.

5  Fellowship / Just For Women / Church Last Night on: July 17, 2004, 09:58:42 AM
Hi Sweet Ladies
The Lord blessed at church last night as He always does.
The message was powerful, coming from Romans 8.
Praise and worship was powerful.  God really met us there.
Testimonies were very encouraging.  We need that.
I just praise God for His Word.  I just couldn't and wouldn't want to make it without Him.  Even though we have to go through tests and trials, what an assurance to know that God is right there with you.  We never have to go through anything alone.  He's an awesome God, and I am so glad that He drew me nigh unto Him, and I had the sense enough to say, " Yes Lord".  I love Him.  I love Him so much.
He's the best thing that has ever happened to me.
Have a blessed day you wonderful ladies.

Have a blessed weekend ladies.  Glad to be a part of this group.    Rose

                         The Teacup

There was a couple who used to go to England to shop in the beautiful stores.
They both liked antiques and pottery and especially teacups.

This was their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary.
One day in this beautiful shop they saw a beautiful teacup.
They said, "May we see that? We've never seen one quite so beautiful."
As the lady handed it to them, suddenly the teacup spoke.
"You don't understand," it said. "I haven't always been a teacup.
There was a time when I was red and I was clay.

My master took me and rolled me and patted me over and over and
I yelled out, 'let me alone,' but he only smiled,
'Not yet.'

"Then I was placed on a spinning wheel," the teacup said,
"and suddenly I was spun around and around and around.
Stop it! I'm getting dizzy! I screamed.
But the master only nodded and said, 'Not yet.'

"Then he put me in the oven. I never felt such heat.
I wondered why he wanted to burn me, and I yelled and knocked at the door.
I could see him through the opening
and I could read his lips as He shook his head, 'Not yet.'

"Finally the door opened, he put me on the shelf, and I began to cool.
'There, that's better,' I said.
And he brushed and painted me all over.
The fumes were horrible. I thought I would gag.
'Stop it, stop it!' I cried. He only nodded, 'Not yet.'

"Then suddenly he put me back into the oven, not like the first one.
This was twice as hot and I knew I would suffocate.
I begged. I pleaded. I screamed. I cried.
All the time I could see him through the opening,
nodding his head saying, 'Not yet.'

"Then I knew there wasn't any hope.
I would never make it. I was ready to give up.
But the door opened and he took me out and placed me on the shelf.
One hour later he handed me a mirror and said, 'Look at yourself.' And I did.
I said, 'That's not me; that couldn't be me. It's beautiful. I'm beautiful.'
"'I want you to remember, then,' he said,
'I know it hurts to be rolled and patted,
but if I had left you alone, you'd have dried up.
I know it made you dizzy to spin around on the wheel,
but if I had stopped, you would have crumbled.
I knew it hurt and was hot and disagreeable in the oven,
but if I hadn't put you there, you would have cracked.
I know the fumes were bad when I brushed and painted you all over,
but if I hadn't done that, you never would have hardened;
you would not have had any color in your life.
And if I hadn't put you back in that second oven,
you wouldn't survive for very long because the hardness would not have held.
Now you are a finished product.
You are what I had in mind when I first began with you.'"

The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord saying,
"Arise and go down to the potter's house,
and there I shall announce My words to you."
Then I went down to the potter's house,
and there he was, making something on the wheel.
But the vessel that he was making of clay
was spoiled in the hand of the potter;
so he remade it into another vessel, as it pleased the potter to make.
Then the word of the Lord came to me saying,
"Can I not, O house of Israel, deal with you as this potter does?"
declares the Lord.
"Behold, like the clay in the potter's hand,
so are you in My hand, O house of Israel."
Jeremiah 18:1-6 (NASB)
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Moral:
God knows what He's doing (for all of us).
He is the Potter, and we are His clay.
He will mold us and make us,
so that we may be made into a flawless piece of work
to fulfill His good, pleasing, and perfect will.

7  Fellowship / Just For Women / My Precious Rudy on: July 14, 2004, 04:09:03 PM
Praise the Lord Sweet Ladies:
I work for a child development center.  I teach 8 children and it is very challenging. The ages are 2 1/2 - 3year olds.  They have fun, but they also learn from a curriculum, so it's quite a bit of work, but it's also a ministry.  A lot of children have crossed my path.  I often ask God to let me see some of them, or even just one, after they have grown up.  I would love to see them at an older age.  Well, eight years ago I was a Registered Child Care Provider in my home, and I kept a boy name Rudy, who was mentally challenged, and 10 years old.  Well guess what happened.  I got a card in the mail, inviting me to his birthday party.  He will be 18 years old on Sunday, and his birthday party is tonight.  I haven't seen him and I am so excited.  But even more than that, God has already answered my prayer.  He was ten and now he is eighteen and I wonder what he looks like.  How does he act.  What is he doing now.  I can't wait to see him.  God just keeps on answering prayer.  I thank and praise Him again, for being concerned about what I would like.  He is a good God.
Wanted to share that with you.  He's awesome.
Love you,
Rose

Thanks Rose,

I agree with you... I have seen God work for me and help me as I am severly disabled. It seems, even though I have had no income zero since July 21st, 2003, all my needs are taken care of.  Praise Jesus for Today & Everyday!

Blessings Sister,

Oh isn't it awesome how He does that?  Makes a way when there seems to be no way.  Truly He is a good God.

I agree!  But He might not fix it just the way we want it fixed.  Grin  So, we will only be happy when we want His will.  That way, when He fixes it His way, and we want His way, we're very happy about how He fixes it.

That is so true sis.  But thank God the bottom line is, He WILL fix it.  But you are so right.  We've go to want His Will and not ours.  Thank you so much sis.

You know what I was thinking.  No matter what we have to face.  No matter what we go through. The Lord is always there for us.  Through all of our heartache and pain.  Through our financial hardship.  When we feel down, and through our nights that are sometimes filled with tears, the Lord is so faithful and is always there.  He is ready and able to fix any situation that we find ourselves in.  And I praise God for that.  He is so good, and so concerned about everything we go through.  If we wait on Him, and while we're waiting, believe that He will do it, we can really sit back and watch God work.  Is there anything to hard for God?  No ma'am there is not.  I love Him.  Oh how I really love Him.
GBU sisters, and thanks for listening.

Hubby and I will be able to go on our first cruise.
We are going from Galveston, Tx to Mexico for 5 days.
Cozymel and Playa del Carmen are our two stops.  I hope I spelled them correctly.  The cruise is 250.00 a piece, but with all the taxes and etc it came to 386.00 a piece.  We are so excited.  We are leaving on Memorial day.  I thank God that we will be able to go and afford it.  I always wanted to go on a cruise, I just thank Him for answering another prayer.  I praise Him for it.  GBU  Rose

Just sitting here thinking about how good God is.
I was coming home late at night, and I was on the frontage road getting ready to get into the right lane.  All of a sudden the Lord said, " stay in the middlw lane".  I swerved back into the middle lane immediately, no one was behind me.  I stayed in the middle lane, and as I was driving, I looked in the right lane, and there was a man on a bicycle dressed in all black.  I mean even the bicycle looked black, everything.  If I would have gotten in that right lane, I woukl have hit that man and maybe killed him.  I just want to thank God for protecting me and the man.  He is my protector and I love him so much.
I wanted to share this with my sisters in the Lord.  Surely God is a protector and I praise Him for it.
