1  Entertainment / Television / Re: WHAT IS THE LAST MOVIE YOU WATCHED? on: July 07, 2006, 01:46:38 AM
The Worlds Fastest Indian.
Not a Christian movie,  but since I like motorcycles........
I was pleasantly surprised. Smiley
2  Theology / General Theology / Re: Was Jesus Forsaken? on: June 11, 2006, 12:45:44 AM
He is "born" of God, not "made," the "only begotten Son" of God (John 3:16).

He is the eternal, living Word, which was "in the beginning with God" (John 1:2), and which "was God" (John 1:1).

Thank you Pastor Roger, your right that we (I) will never understand the Triune Godhead.
It is beyond our reasoning that the word eternal means, "without  beginning or end".
My understanding is the beginning is referring to the creation of the Heavens and the Earth as written in Genesis and John.

I have listened to many debates on whether the entire Trinity is eternal.
My belief is that Jesus as the Son of God, was part of God and therefore is God, just as the Holy Spirit is.
Therefore they are also eternal...

I may ask a lot of questions to help with my understanding...
I have been a Christian for many years, but have only recently (past couple years) tried to better comprehend theology.
It's hard on my head. Smiley
Take Care,  Marc.

3  Theology / General Theology / Re: Distortions & Lies satan wants to Spread on: June 10, 2006, 10:54:15 PM
When a Christian studies and obeys his Bible, he is free from the millions of distortions and lies told inside and outside of churches. He will walk in power--power to live right, talk right, think right, serve right, love right. Everything right comes from knowing the Word of God and walking in the power of the Holy Ghost. To be Bible-minded is to be Christ-minded. Nothing in the Christian life should be divorced from the Lord Jesus Christ and His word--whether washing dishes, soulwinning, working, studying, fellowshipping or sitting in a church pew.

Thank you DreamWeaver, what an awesome reminder to keep our eyes focused on Jesus.
Thru His Word and constant prayer, we will recognize the evil ones ways.

Here is something I lean on...
2 Cor. 1:3-5  NIV  3. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4. who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 5. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.

Greek:  Comfort, Parakaleo.  para: to come alongside.  kaleo: called to.  Called to come alongside.

I have a tough time daily (as I'm sure we all have) with my focus, my walk, my witnessing...but I always keep a copy of The Word with me wherever I go.
It seems the evil one is always throwing out something for me to trip over, but when I remember this verse, that God has called me to come alongside Him, then that's what I do.
I try to remember,  it's not about me!
Take Care,  Marc.

For some this may come as a surprise but Yes.Jesus was created by God just like everything else was.

Can you please elaborate...
Hasn't Jesus always existed as part of the Trinity?
Or are you referring to His human birth?

5  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re: Marketing 666 The Mark of the Beast on: June 06, 2006, 05:38:19 AM
That is the work of satan Raven, he wants to mislead Christians. Don't forget that satan is a master of lying, cheating and stealing.
Yes it/he is.
With all the media nowdays it's in our face constantly it seems.
I guess my use of "welcome" may have been inappropriate.
What I was trying to say was, I will use this day as an opportunity to witness and serve our Lord Jesus!

It seems as tho everyday there is another book, another TV program, another movie that is meant to lead or confuse people about the truth.
Now there is a day for the "World" to feast on.
I tire of the endless lies that are all around us....
But I don't tire of witnessing about our Lord, and if I keep Him in sight,  these are all opportunities to lift Him up to lost people who are searching.
So I will welcome these things and rejoice in his service.
AMEN
7  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re: Hiya Guests!!!! on: June 06, 2006, 01:55:53 AM
Well, y'all made me feel welcome!
And being here in the Pac. N.W. (land of strawberry plentiful and a box in the fridge as I type) I will taste a toast and say "Thanks".

This has been a great week!
Our Bible study group is reading 2 Corinthians, and we just finished chapter 7.
My spirit was lifted as I read that Paul was enthusiastic about the report from Titus, that the church of Corinth had repented and it's focus was back on Christ.
It reminds me that daily (constantly) I have to re-evaluate my walk, that my perception does not cloud the truth.
I have never really read much about Titus, but it appears he was a very vital and strong witness. I know Paul had sent him to various churches apparently to eliminate misconceptions and strengthen their faith, but this passage just hit me... what a large task it would have been to go in place of Paul and strengthen a church that was weakened with turmoil and deceit from within. Especially in Corinth.
What a tremendous passage.....
Take care.

Ok, here goes my first post........
I've been lurking forever.
I understand and love reading the topics here but the level of discussion is way over my head.
I will continue to read and who know's, maybe I will post again!
God bless you all. Smiley
