46  Prayer / Prayer Requests / FERVENT PRAYER FOR THE HOSTAGE! on: June 16, 2004, 05:21:04 PM
Please pray for that man taken hostage in Saudi Arabia.  Imagine yourself being the one taken and how much you prayed others were praying for you.

I pray that this matter will be resolved and the man will be returned safely.  I pray that God's will be done.  Not satans.  He needs God's help.  And ours as well.  I also pray for his family and friends as they are going through a horrible time playing the waiting game.

Father bring these terrorists to justice and bring home this man safely in Jesus name.

I pray with full confidence that your will is going to be done in this tragic incident.

Thank you Father
Thank you for being Holy
Thank you for your Love
In Jesus name
Amen

Well put BRONZESNAKE!
InHimITrust-wrote-- My blessed hope has already happened

Don't forget 2 Thessalonians:2:1-4
(1) Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers, (2) not to become easily unsettled of alarmed by some prophecy, report or letter supposed to have come from us, saying that the DAY OF THE LORD HAS ALREADY COME. (3) Don't let anyone decieve you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. (4) He will oppose and exalt himeself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God.

And if He has already come back, where is the new heaven and the new earth and the 1000 year reign with His Kingdom?

Only nowadays do we have the technology to fulfill prophesy spoken of long ago.

We are instructed to look for His return and keep our robes pure and clean until He returns.
48  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re:The Word of God vs. the Pre-Tribulation Rapture on: June 16, 2004, 12:42:44 PM
First of all, the pre-tribulation rapture was inspired to many people(and well before the 1800's).  And just why are you so critical of these people anyway?  If these people are constantly walking with Jesus, it is not going to affect their rewards (or yours) if the rapture is not pre-trib.  No, I dont know of any verse that comes right out and says the rapture will occur pre-trib.  And I don't have any timelines so I am not running to get them.  I know of verses that lead to that thought however.

I do know that we are to be looking for His return.  We are to be living Godly lives and not wandering away from the faith.  We are to pray for each other and build each other up.  The rapture will happen.  This is in God's Word.  Whether it occurs before the tribulation or during, God only knows.  I believe there are subjects not covered in His Word that are revealed to us through His Holy Spirit through constant prayer and study.

It feels as though you have more of a grudge against christians that believe this rather than the belief itself.

I did find your post humerous...however.

I don't think you are going to change anyone's mind who has been spoken to by the Holy Spirit though.
49  Prayer / Prayer Requests / Aneurysm! on: June 15, 2004, 02:52:51 PM
Please pray for our close dear friend who recently suffered and miraculously survived an aweful car accident.  She woke the other night from sleep with a headache and blood dripping out of her ears.  She has had an aneurysm in the past but is now is refusing to take the tests to see what the problem is.  I ask all christians out there to please pray for her and her health.
50  Prayer / Prayer Requests / Re:Found Religion on: June 15, 2004, 11:41:36 AM
Thoses that sincerely accept Jesus as Lord and savior have their sins forgiven.  He has forgiven them and forgot about them.  It is the evil one who keeps reminding us of our past in order to doubt that God could be so forgiving.  But He is that forgiving.  The next time one of those thoughts of your past pops up in your mind, remind yourself that Jesus forgave you and paid a great price because he loves you.
51  Theology / Bible Study / The coming of God's Kingdom on: June 15, 2004, 11:02:59 AM
Jesus describes the return of the Son of Man (Jesus's return) in Luke 17:22 to His disciples.  He then relates it to two stories in the following verses.

1. Luke 17:26-Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man.  People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark.  Then the flood came and destroyed them all.

In this story we learn that
   a. People are not fearing God.
   b. God provided safety for the righteous.(Ark, instruction)
   c. Destruction came After the righteous were saved from
       God's wrath.

2. Luke 17:28-It was the same in the days of Lot.  People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building.  But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.

In this story we learn that

   a. People are not fearing God.
   b. God provided a route of safety for the righteous (a
command to come out of Sodom and not look back)
   c. Destruction came after the righteous had been saved
from God's wrath. (right after Lot had left Sodom it
       was destroyed)

Both stories tell how God saves us from His wrath.
1 Thessalonians 5:9-For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Christians will be raptured.  The question is when, in regards to the tribulation hour.

Anytime someone says he is a little god or refers to someone else as a little god a RED FLAG should pop up in your mind!!!!

Car-man belongs on TBN, all show Smiley

Brother Love Smiley
Carman recently performed at our church.  Believe me, he is not all show!  He is sincere about his message.  I didn't care too much for his music hearing it on cd, but live he is outstanding.  Very entertaining.  He gets very serious at times throughout the concert and talks about God.
54  Entertainment / Music / Re:the Violin on: June 11, 2004, 04:05:28 PM
I do.... well..I used to years ago.  Used to be pretty good too.  Awesome instrument!  Very difficult.  Beautiful.  I used to be in to Irish music, bluegrass, not really any of today's country.  And of course Bach!

You got me thinking Huh I need to break that thing out again.   Wink
55  Theology / General Theology / Re:Losing salvation? on: June 11, 2004, 02:47:41 PM
I would think that if one became saved and then got into their old habbits and didn't have support of other christians and thought that since they were saved that God would continue to forgive then over and over.  With that sinner feeling no guilt or remorse or grief (all from the HOLY SPIRIT) which should have come upon them when they were, and continuing to sin.

If you don't turn from your evil ways and try to become like Jesus, I absolutely think, well....I'll just say this-'I sure wouldn't want to be in that person's shoes when I die or am taken to meet Him!!!'
56  Theology / Debate / Re:Benny Hinn or Ben Hinnom? on: June 11, 2004, 01:42:33 PM
I always was very suspicious about this man after seeing him on telivision.  It seemed too much like a production and it just didn't add up.  Even though I was just seeing the 'healings' Undecided and not his preaching.

I AM is reserved for GOD and if he did say these things, God forgive him and may he turn from his evil ways.  This is the new age movement breaking its ugly face into christianity.  I sometimes wonder if 'the whore' in relevation is a religion with the thought that there can be many religions and many ways to god.  I wonder what his ideas about this is.  Does anyone have any info. about that?

It is good to see people speaking up and holding him accountable for his words and actions.  I suspect that there are many more of them out there that need to be exposed and brought down before they lead many astray from the TRUTH!
57  Theology / Debate / Re:Seventh Day Adventists on: June 11, 2004, 01:29:27 PM
I don't know much about the SDA.  I was on a road trip down in Georgia and I read several signs which said the mark of the beast is working on the sabbath.  I thought it was a joke but then my wife said that is a belief of the SDA.  Is that true?   Huh

I had also worked with someone who was a SDA and she told me that she didn't support unions because they were a cult.   Undecided  Does anyone know anything about this?
58  Theology / Bible Study / Re:Lazarus question on: June 11, 2004, 12:51:43 PM
What is the main message from this story?  I believe it is that outward appearences may not always indicate your righteousness.  Like the Pharisees believed.

I believe Jesus was speaking to the Pharisees when telling this story.  When they saw someone like the 'rich man' they would think he would be worthy to go to heaven when he would die.  Looking upon the poor and sick, like Lazarus, they would suspect he would be filthy and on his way to hell when he died.  Lazaurs was a poor man that the rich man had to know about but did not lift a finger to help.

Jesus tells the story in the same fashion as other parables: Not naming the 'rich man'.  By telling the name of the beggar, is was unique in this  parable.  Lazarus means the one God helped.  I believe that is why a specific name was used in this parable.

He made no mention of how each of them lived their lives and their relationships with God.  Only that the poor had received little in his life and the rich man received much.  And now the situation is quite different with the rich man being in agony in this story.  It is at this time when the rich man finally(apparently) shows compassion by aking Lazarus to be raised from the dead and warn his family about this place of torture.
