Sometimes, people have legitimate reasons for disliking Christianity. So many Christians blow off this feeling by saying: “Oh, they just are mad because they don’t have the truth” or “The enemy has blinded their eyes” or “We are the true people of God, so we should except attacks like this.” DO you think this does anything to help the distracter see your point of view? No, things like this are the reason people are draw away from Christianity. Attitudes like that are the reason people make movies like “Saved” in the first place! Attitudes like that, you say?  Bad attitudes?  Bad attitudes created this great movie you speak of?  You couldn't pay me to see this!

Jesus speaking here folks
John 15:18-"If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.  19. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own.  As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.  That is why the world hates you.

The Bible clearly states criticism is a good thing. A wiseman does well to at least listen to it. Don’t make me start quoting Proverbs on you people! :-D Yes, please do begin quoting from scripture.
Besides, is this not an excellent opportunity to peer into the mind of an unsaved person? So thats what this film is about; looking into the mind of the unsaved? Tongue Is that why you would  go see it?  Wouldn't you already know what it is like?  Like the rest of us at one time.
Would not such knowledge only strength your witnessing? This could be a great chance of a textbook study of the attitude the unsaved have toward Christians, and prepare to defend against it. All things work together for good...

The trailer of this movie was not geared for christians.  I can say that if Jesus was here in the flesh I would not want to take Him to see this.

Baby christians should stay away from this kind of garbage because they get a false sense of TRUE christianity.  Just look at some of these posts.

I would disagree about my attitude being like those who wrote this movie.  In fact it gave me a good little chuckle Grin The person who wrote this movie was probably of the tolerent personality who would rather sit back and not stand of for their faith.
Garbage. Garbage. Garbage.  Cheesy Roll Eyes

Any christian who supports this garbage needs to examine their relationship with Jesus.

Is this the same translation that replaces heaven with Jerusalem throughout the entire bible?
37  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re:The Word of God vs. the Pre-Tribulation Rapture on: June 23, 2004, 03:41:24 PM
Back a million years ago in the 50's. We ( Mom Dad & us kids) just knew Jesus would come and get us before " The Great Tribulation!"  Then questions get asked.... Well why was Dan in the lions den? Noah was safe but in the flood some like to say he was above the flood ok, he was still in the rain. Shadrac Meshack and Abendgo were in the fire. The Israellites were in Egypt during the plagues. And  " The Great Tribulation" is not a scripture quote. I am not saying there is not tribulation or even great tribulation. Cause Jesus says great tribulation ....maybe my thoughts are clear ... hope so...
-----------------------------------------------------------
yes they are very clear.
I have no idea how things will happen exactly and neither does anyone else on this forum.  I do believe however that we WILL not suffer God's wrath.  However we avoid it is fine with me.
38  Theology / Bible Study / Re:The coming of God's Kingdom on: June 23, 2004, 11:23:38 AM
If the kingdom of God is yet to come then why did Paul and John write as though they were already in the kingdom?

If the kingdom is yet to come then what is Christ King over when He is refered to as such?
------------------------------------------------------------
Huh?  Are you under the impression that the kingdom is already here?

John says he was in the Spirit on the Lord's day and had recieved his vision from Jesus Christ.

The kingdom of God will be placed here on earth one day.
I'm sorry, I guess I am a little confused by your question.

This is your post and that is fine.  You have caused people to argue over the pre-trib issue.  I am not really sure that you have told us what you believe, besides being against the pre-trib thought.  Why don't you post your beliefs down and let us show you how we think you are wrong Wink  If you are post trib we could easily slam your views as you are doing to us.

If the first half of the tribulation consists of christians being persecuted, we could still be here because Jesus said we would be persecuted and would be blessed for suffering for His names sake.  This persecution is not God's wrath, I believe.  But we are going to have to wait to see.
41  Theology / Bible Study / Re:The coming of God's Kingdom on: June 23, 2004, 10:11:51 AM
2 Thessaloninans 2:7-For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way.

If He in the above passage is referring to the Holy Spirit, which I think it does, it would tell us more about meeting Jesus in the clouds.  The Spirit would be out of the antichrists way because we have been brought up to meet with Jesus while the earth and the wicked experience God's wrath.  The holy Spirit would be with the christians, of course, and not with the wicked left behind.

As for the timing of the rapture in relation of the tribulation, I find many verses that oppose the post-tribulation view.  We are told that we are not to suffer wrath but to inherit salvation through Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:9).  So when is God's wrath?  We know we will not be affected by it according to scripture.  If His wrath is going to come in the middle of the tribulation, then it is quite possible that we will all be around until then or shortly before that takes place.

No one knows the day of hour of His return.  But during the tribulation, in the middle, the antichrist takes the throne and declares himself god.  The bible says that the Jews will have to wait 1260 days, 3.5 years, until their true God returns.  Sounds to me like they could be aware of the day, maybe even hour of His return.  We however, do not.

Peace

I also pray that America would turn back her head towards God and confess her sins.  We may soon be dealing with these kiddnappings/executions in our own country and watching them on our own computers.

Good Point! Thank you!

Hour Unknown

When we search the scriptures and read the passages describing the Lord Jesus' return, we find verses that tell us we won't know the day and hour of that event.  Matthew 25:13 says Jesus will return at an unknown time, while relvelation 12:6 indicates that the Jews will have to wait on the Lord 1260 days, starting when the antichrist stands in the temple of God and delcares himself to be god (2 thes 2:4).  This event will take place at the mid-point of the seven-year tribulation (Dan 9:27).  Note that some people only see a three and a half year tribulation.  In a way, they are correct because the first half of the tribulation will be relatively peaceful compared to the second half.  Nonetheless, peaceful of not, there still remains a 7 year period called the tribulation.  When the Jews flee into the wilderness, they know that all they have to do is wait out those 1260 days (Mat 24:16).  There is no way to apply the phrase "neither the day nor the hour" to this situation.  The only way for these two  viewpoints to be true is to seperate the two distinct events transpiring here: 1) the rapture of the church, which comes before the tribulation; and 2) the return of Jesus to the earth, which takes place roughly 7 years later.

144,000 will be sealed from the 12 tribes of Israel Rev (7:3).
What about the church?  Are they already in heaven?  No need to seal them then.

We are not to suffer God's wrath.  For sure!  He said so.  The question is what is the beginning of His wrath.  Is it the beginning of the tribulation, middle or latter portion.  The idea of us being taken out of destruction is not a new one.  I find many verses leading to pre-trib and middle.  But arguing about this is useless. It does not matter when we go.  We will one day be taken up to meet Him in the clouds.  Live with Christ and don't run astray and He will protect you from the second death.

By the way

Here is a little diddy I just thought up for you:

Pick and choose, slice and dice, turn it upside down.
We like two of everything, part of what is sound.
Second comings, raptures all, resurrections too.
Tribulation, not for us, only for the Jew.
Don't blame us for leaving soon, we care not much for you.
There is little we imagine we can ever do.
Listen cloesly when we say, surely comes a day.
When Jesus Christ, has not a soul that's saved and here to stay.

Who will tell them, thats a q, we don't really care
We are having steak tonight living way up there.
They will see that we are gone and then they will despair
Some may find a Bible that we left behind down there.

What a Church what a mission left in rubble great commission, double trouble for the rubble, we are GONE way past the Hubble!!!

...We Hope, but who gives a crap about all those Jews anyway!

Beautiful poem.  Subtle, yet arrogant, it seems.

Arrogant words never motivates people to see it your way.

You know that distance you feel when you sin against God?  And the closeness you begin to feel to God when you confess your sins and forgive others.  We become far from Him when we sin.

Sin distances people from God.  Especially believers.  We may be forgiven, but we are instructed to ask for forgiveness.  If one sins and does not feel guilty about it and says to himself 'God has already forgiven me', he was not truly saved.  Sin grieves the Holy Spirit.  Those with the Holy Spirit know this.

If you sin from now on until you die and don't ask for forgiveness and don't forgive others, I wouldn't want to be in your shoes when Judgement day comes around.

Thats my take on it.

Peace and God bless all Smiley
