I've still got a problem accepting compliments. People tell me I'm my own worst critic, and it's probably true. I can be a pretty critical person, and I'll admit that sometimes I'm a bit hard on myself and even the people around me.

I usually try to avoid situations where I know I'll get compliments, but when I do receive one I try to flash a smile and be polite enough to say thank you.

It depends really. Usually I go for the paperback books, since I read so much and a book will only last me about a week or so... it's just not worth the $20+ dollars.

I do have a few hardback books though. They're nice, but I'm happy either way.

It could be related to registry errors, but if it's working now that your dad's installed XP I wouldn't worry about it so much.

I had to format my HD awhile back due to some viruses, and a bunch of registry errors. Now I don't have any problems with my computer, but I'd avoid formatting if possible.

Then again, we have 0 poets (well, 0 GOOD poets), and we still have a poetry board.

I'm a poet.. I'd post some of my work, but it said Christian poetry.. my poetry is a bit.. angsty.

Anyhow, I think that's a good idea. A board for a few of the younger members to post in, even college students can relate to high school and middle school.

What if they were YOUR children?  Would you still be anti-death penalty?

Since you asked this question, then I’ll answer it in my own opinion. Even though I’m young, and don’t have children I have an idea of how I’d feel if someone did that to my family (even if they weren't my family I'd feel the same way). I would hope that he/she would be punished, and I’m not saying 40 years in prison and then let out into the world to do it again. I’m saying, I hope that individual would be punished by lethal injection, and I’m sure that might not seem so humane of me... But do you really want a person out there in the world who could slaughter children?

I’m for the death penalty. When I think of that Helter Skelter incident where that man mutilated that woman and her unborn baby… he’s still alive, and he knows that he got away with it. Even though the law in CA has been changed now, I think it was for a good thing. There are so many freaks out there who would want to make a name of themselves by doing something horrible.

I've had a few rabbits too, I think I've had about three. When I was younger I had these two rabbits, one of them died and we're still not too sure why. The other my mom gave away..

On Easter morning I woke up, went out to feed my rabbit, and she was GONE! I found out a couple years back that the 'Easter Bunny' didn't really take her, but mom gave her away to some woman.

I think some of the weirdest pets I've had is a Robin and a Blue Jay. A cat (not mine) killed their mothers... not to give cats a bad name or anything, but I took in the only remaining hatchlings. This was about three or so years ago, when I was in sixth grade, and it wasn't too easy. They both had to be fed every few hours, even through the night.

I've also had horses, but we had to get rid of them when we moved from Kentucky.

Then there's cats, I've had a ton of cats. Not too many dogs, to be honest I prefer cats over dogs, and I've had some birds in my past too.

Well, I'm a teenager.

Awww.. dogs are sweet.. unless they're foaming at the mouth. Then they're not so sweet, and you should get as far away as possible.

I have a black lab named Jazzie, and she's just the sweetest dog you've ever seen. Her previous owner used to beat her, so now when ever she walks up to someone she does this crawl like you're going to hit her.

I've pretty much gotten her out of that with me though. If you sit down, she'll just love on you and try to climb into lap.

Furthermore, cats eat birds, and in my family that is the worst of crimes! (My parents and oldest brother are die-hard bird watchers and I've recently started)

That's not one hundred percent true. I have a cat named, Reeses, and I also have a bird. They both live in the same room. My room.

I've never seen Reeses try to harm my cockatiel in any way. So the comment "cats eat birds!!!" is just another stereotype, because not all cats do.

If a cat is raised around a bird, like mine, then chances are that cat will never "eat birds" whether it be inside or out.
