Libyan comedian killed while filming Tripoli clashes on Instagram

In the aftermath of fighting over the weekend in Libya’s capital Tripoli, the story of one of the victims, Mustafa Baraka, has caught the attention of Libyans.

Baraka was a well-known Libyan comedian who had appeared on television and was popular on social media, where he mocked Libya’s politicians and militias for being corrupt and constantly fighting.

When the battles arrived in his Tripoli neighbourhood on Saturday, Baraka decided to document the events to his followers on Instagram and went live.

In the run-up to the first hearing, Christian Estrosi reported on “shameful postings referring to the attack in Nice” that were allegedly “spread on social networks”, as he denounced on Twitter. The mayor of Nice posted one of these invectives against the fatalities. He posted: “Nissa merdaaaaa – 80 fachos disparus” (Nissa merdaaaaa – 80 fascists shot).

Christian Estrosi announced that he would ” bring in the public prosecutor” after these kind of statements. “I appeal to the responsibility of the social networks..........................

Jewish French man murdered with ax, face burned by roommate

A 34-year-old Jewish man was allegedly killed by his Muslim roommate in Longperrier, a commune in the Seine-et-Marne department in north-central France. The National Bureau of Vigilance against Antisemitism (BNVCA) provided the identity of the man: Eliahou Haddad.

“The BNVCA received requests of many correspondents who see information circulating [online] about the murder of a man of Jewish faith, from Djerba in Tunisia and whose family lives in Beer Sheva in Israel," reads a press release form the BNVCA.

"The assassination was committed by a suspect of [the] Muslim faith. The concern is heightened by the silence surrounding this case," the organization added, likely referring to the murder so other Jews like Sarah Halimi.

Professor Nader Hashemi's comments—which claimed that Rushdie's alleged attacker, Hadi Matar, could have been lured into the attack by Mossad agents—are a sign of the increasing prevalence of pro-Iranian regime propaganda in U.S. academic institutions, according to Republican foreign policy leaders who spoke to the Washington Free Beacon.

In the coming months, lawmakers associated with the Republican Study Committee (RSC), the largest Republican caucus in Congress, will launch oversight investigations into schools like the University of Denver as part of a bid to root out "anti-Semitic and anti-American conspiracy theories," the lawmakers and senior Republican congressional officials told the Free Beacon.

In Dumka district of Jharkhand, a young woman died yesterday after a stalker poured petrol on her and set her on fire a few days earlier. As has been the pattern in my such cases of late, the woman was a Hindu while the accused belongs to the Muslim community.

Shahrukh Hussain, who is in his twenties, is a neighbour of the victim, Ankita, her father Sanjeev Singh told Swarajya on 28 August.

Ankita died on the intervening night of 27 and 28 August.

Switzerland: The trial against the Islamist knifewoman of Lugano has begun

The main hearing against the 29-year-old woman from Ticino who attacked two women with a knife, some of them causing serious injuries, at the Grandi Magazzini Manor Sud SA in Lugano on November 24, 2020 started in Bellinzona this morning. The Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland assumes a terrorist motive.

The accused appeared at the start of the trial dressed entirely in black and initially refused to remove her head veil, as requested by the presiding federal criminal judge, Fiorenza Bergomi. She declared that she is a Muslim and that the court should respect this. Only after consulting with her defence lawyers did she remove her head veil.

The Ticino woman is charged with multiple attempted murders, violation of Article 2 of the Federal Law on the Prohibition of the Groups “Al-Qaida” and “Islamic State” and related organisations, and unlawful practice of prostitution, according to Article 199 SCC.

In another barbaric move, Taliban restricts female students from leaving Kabul for studies

In another atrocious move, the Taliban (under UN sanctions for terrorism) has refused to allow female students to leave Kabul to go to study in Kazakhstan and Qatar, as reported by Sputnik citing sources. On Friday, the sources said that both female and male students were planning to leave Kabul, but only male students were permitted to fly out of Afghanistan for studies.

After the withdrawal of US troops from the country and the collapse of the US-backed government, an interim Afghan government led by the Taliban came to power in September 2021. The Taliban has banned Afghan women from working outside their homes and has introduced gender-based segregation in schools. Girls are not allowed to receive education beyond sixth grade.

Moreover, the Taliban has forced all women to cover their faces while in public, and women are not allowed to participate in entertainment activities and visit parks at the same time as men.

Hindu boy killed allegedly over affair with Muslim girl; latter killed and buried too

Suspecting an honour killing incident here on Sunday, local police are exhuming the dead body of a teenage girl days after the recovery of her alleged boyfriend’s half naked dead body from a Sugarcane field.

Primary investigation suggests the two were caught by teenage girl’s brothers in an objectionable position post which they were killed.

The incident came to light after cops at Rudhauli police station in Basti district received a call from a farmer named Paras Nath Chaudhary informing about a dead body thrown in his farm. The deceased was identified as Ankit from the same village.

Attorney of Iraqi woman sues Islamic preacher Abdullah Rushdy over rape allegations, says she has ‘evidence

The attorney of Iraqi woman Jihan Jaafar says will sue the Egyptian Islamic preacher Abdullah Rushdy over indecent assault, and claims to have the evidence to back the case up.

The attorney, Heba Hussain, said that she trusts the claims of her client.

After communicating with Gehan, they agreed to take over legal issues with her colleague, lawyer Mohamed Omran, and to file an indecent assault case against Rushdy.

Two additional ‘New York Times’ freelancers caught praising Hitler and Palestinian terrorism

The New York Times has come under fire again for hiring freelancers with a history of anti-Semitic social-media posts.

Weeks ago, the paper severed ties with producer and fixer Fady Hanona, who repeatedly espoused anti-Semitic and anti-Israel hostility and spoke favorably of Adolf Hitler.

The watchdog site HonestReporting’s investigation of Hanona uncovered social-media posts calling for the killing of Jews “wherever they are: children, elderly people and soldiers.” Hanona wrote: “The Jews are sons of the dogs, and I am in favor of killing them and burning them, like Hitler did to them. I would be extremely happy.” The post was accompanied by two smiling emojis.

Taliban Shows Off ‘Pride’ of Its Military: the ‘Martyrdom Brigade’ Suicide Bombers

The “Interior Ministry” of the terrorist government of the Taliban advertised in a news conference on Sunday the development of an armed forces wing dedicated to suicide bombing, the “Martyrdom Brigades,” calling the bombers “our source of pride.”

The Interior Ministry praised the would-be suicide bombers on the same day the Taliban “defense ministry” accused Pakistan of allowing American drones to fly out of its skies to conduct operations within Afghanistan, condemning the measure – a notable accusation in the aftermath of an American drone strike killing Ayman al-Zawahiri, the elderly head of al-Qaeda in Kabul in early August.

Taliban jihadists, who have for decades maintained cozy relations with al-Qaeda, have denied having any evidence Zawahiri was in Afghanistan and claimed they have yet to find his body.

Afghan Refugees in U.S. Are Sending Our Tax Dollars Back to Afghanistan

Not actually a surprise.

Some countries run their entire economies around remittances, promoting mass migration to America, and then profiting from the money sent back to their families. Once we enabled money to enter Taliban territory, this was inevitable.

But this little detail emerges from what is supposed to be a sympathetic profile of Afghan migrants by the Los Angeles Times, but is actually an exercise in entitlement.

In many ways, Musafer said, America has provided him and his family with the safety and opportunity they had hoped for. He quickly found a full-time job at an Apple warehouse. His children — Sefatullah, 18; Rabia, 16; Muqaddas, 12; and Subhanullah, 10 — are enrolled in school. He and Yalda take English-language courses. Many in Yalda’s family immigrated to California several years ago, during an earlier phase of the U.S. occupation, and on weekends the Musafers spend time with her sister’s family, cooking together or exploring Northern California.

At least 23 dead amid fighting after Moqtada al-Sadr quits

At least 23 people have been killed in some of the worst fighting for years in Iraq's capital, Baghdad, sparked by a key leader's decision to quit politics.

Gunshots and rocket-fire rang out as supporters of Shia Muslim cleric Moqtada al-Sadr clashed with security forces and militias aligned with Iran.

Mr Sadr has ordered his supporters to withdraw from outside parliament, where they have been protesting for weeks.

Iraq has been in a state of paralysis since inconclusive elections in 2021.

Surging numbers from the Balkan state are 'rising up the security services list' of priorities, sources said this week.

As people traffickers exploit Britain's porous borders, Albanians became the largest nationality arriving across the Channel in the first six months of this year – overtaking Iraqis, Iranians, Syrians and Afghans.
