16  Theology / Debate / Re:Bible Beliefs that matter on: January 04, 2006, 07:55:36 PM
In the words of Wiley Coyote as he watches the Roadrunner go blistering by: SLURP!!!

Only, hold the mayo and ketchup, but add some good 'ol homemade relish, (or substitute Bicks), and slather some plain yellow mustard. No uppity yuppity here so throw the dijon in the garbage!

17  Theology / Debate / Re:THE CHARISMATIC MOVEMENT IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE: on: January 04, 2006, 03:28:50 AM
Well, that was a nicely written little expose, but I'm not going to apologize for what I do or do not believe. So in the meantime, I think our time would be better served loving one another.

Therefore, what can I do for you my brother? I know if we should ever meet up in church sometime, not to speak in tongues. That is, of course, umless you come to my church because you know what you're getting yourself into if you do that.

Nevertheless, I shall add you to my Ephesians prayer list.

In the meantime, and from the depths of my spirit:

Num 6:24  The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
Num 6:25  The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
Num 6:26  The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

Hi Tech,

If you're interested in healing, this may help.

===================================

Proverbs 4:20-22 says, "My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh."

Psalm 107:20 says, "He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions."

Exodus 15:25,26: "And he cried unto the Lord; and the Lord shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them, And said. If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee."

Exodus 23:25: "And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee."

Psalm 107:20: "He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. "

Isa 55:10:  For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

Isa 55:11:  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Psalm 103:2.3: "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases."

Proverbs 17:22: “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones."

Isaiah 53:3-5: "He (Jesus) is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chas-tisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed.

Matthew 8:16.17: "When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: That it might be fulfilled which was spo-ken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses."

Matthew 8:2,3: "And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will, be thou clean. And immedi-ately his leprosy was cleansed."

Act 10:38: How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Galatians 3:13: "Christ hath redeemed" us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is writ-ten, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree."

1 Peter 2:24: "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed."

How do you appropriate these promises of God into your life?

Mar 11:22  And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

Mar 11:23  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Mar 11:24  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Mar 11:25  And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

Stand on these verse. Read them over and over. Speak them over and over. Believe them!

19  Prayer / Prayer Requests / Re:Twins on: December 20, 2005, 02:21:30 AM
Heavenly Father,

I set myself in agreement with my brothers and sisters that the babies be delivered healthy, the mother of the babies maintains good health, and the father and grandparents maintain good health also.

I come against all demonic powers in the name of Jesus of Nazaraeth, and command you to cease any manuevers against Pastor Roger, his wife, his son and daughter-in-law, and the unborn twins of his son. I particularly command you to take your hands off the mother of the unborn twins, and the twins themselves, so that their health is no longer threatened.

Father restore the mother to health and remove the infection caused by our enemy. Guide the doctors and nurses Father, and make sure they don't screw it up.

In the name of Jesus.

Amen.
20  Prayer / Prayer Requests / Re:cris on: December 19, 2005, 08:30:24 PM
To my dear sister cris:

I have a Word from the Lord for you.

2Co 1:20  For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

Hallelujah!! ALL, the promises! Not just some, but all of them.

And here are a couple of God's promises:

Psa 91:9  Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
Psa 91:10  There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

Psa 91:14  Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
Psa 91:15  He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
Psa 91:16  With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Psa 103:1 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Psa 103:2  Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
Psa 103:3  Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
Psa 103:4  Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
Psa 103:5  Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.

1Jo 4:4  Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Take these scriptures to heart. Meditate on them. Speak them out. Proclaim them boldly in your life. Change the pronouns to "me", and take this word as your very own.

And finally, love our God and believe, never wavering.
21  Prayer / Prayer Requests / Re:cris on: December 19, 2005, 07:42:07 PM
Our Great God and Wonderful Father,

We love you with all our heart, all our soul, all our strength, and all our mind. And we love one another as we love ourselves. Therefore, I enter your courts with thanksgiving and with praise, and I bring with me my beloved sister cris.

And since you remember our sins no more, we enter the holiest by the blood of our Lord Jesus with boldness, and with our high priest beseech you Father.

I lift my sister on a pedestal before you. She is fighting the enemy and her strength wanes. Therefore Father, I pray the prayer of faith that you endue her with strength, spirit, soul, and body. Restore her strength unto her. Also Father, I would ask that you send workers across her path who would enjoin the fight with her, and also show her the ways of pulling down those strongholds.

Now, I command you Satan, by the authority of the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, that you cease ALL manuevers against my sister cris right now!!!!

Glory be to God hallelujah Father!!!! Glory to your name and I thank you for setting my sister free!! Blessed be the name of God forever. Abba Father!!! (I will now pray and praise in tongues, if you don't mind because my words are just...., I just need to get something else out here and I need to use my prayer language).

To the members of CU:

The prayer of agreement is far, far more powerful than any other prayer that I know of. If you are in agreement with what I have prayed, then please take the time to tell the Father of your agreement, and join me in praise and worship for the victory that we know cris will experience.

Thank You

23  Entertainment / Music / On Rock - KUTLESS RULES!!!!!!!!!!! on: December 17, 2005, 09:16:44 AM
Hands down. This old 46 year old rocker has been listening a lot to ChristianRock.net lately, and I've been determining who I'd listen to the most, and whose CDs I'd buy.

Without any doubts whatsoever, I put my stamp of approval, and the number one label on Kutless. Their music is fabulous, and mix in some great exhortations from the Word, and you have anointed music.

Songs I recommend right outta the gate are "Your Touch" and "Strong Tower".

But be sure to listen to, (from the Sea of Faces CD), All Alone, Troubled Heart, Treason, Not What You See, and of course Sea of Faces.

I like Draw Me Close, Take Me In, We Fall Down, Better Is One Day and Strong Tower from the new CD.

And from their first offering Pride Away, Saved, Tonight, excellent song), and Your Youch which is really the single song that told you this band was going to produce some good stuff.

Anyways, check them out when you get a chance. You'll be glad you did.

Did I like anybody else? Sure I did. Demon Hunter has a couple of very good songs in My Heartstrings Come Undone and One Thousand Apologies. Then they'll have a song like Not Ready To Die which has a superb melody in the chorus, but the rest is just screaming. Where did this screaming stuff come from? They're not the only band that does this, and frankly it turns me off to their music.

Another band that I would listen to more is Thousand Foot Krutch. But they need to follow Kutless' example and sing more about and for Jesus.

Other honorable mentions are Switchfoot, Skillet, Discple, Pillar, and 12 Stones.

24  Theology / General Theology / Re:what makes a denomination a denomination on: December 11, 2005, 02:22:12 AM
I think, Pockets, that you place an undue importance on denominational doctrine. All that really matters is the core truth of what Scripture teaches and what is taught of Christ. The most important facts of Christ: He is God, first and foremost. He came to this world over 2000 years ago, born of the virgin Mary, whom was God's chosen vessel, His handmaiden, as she herself said, no more, no less. That Christ lived a sinless life. That Christ died upon the cross and therefore paid the penalty for all sins, past, present, and future, and that this sacrifice is sufficient for all humanity. That Jesus Christ laid in the tomb three days and then rose again on the third day, thus proving His power over death and death's master, the enemy. That Christ is even now at the Father's right hand, preparing a place for all those who now or who will love Him. And that Christ has sent the Spirit to assist all His children, the Christians.
Other things are open to individual interpretation. These are the only truths which are necessary to be held for salvation, and the truths upon which the church must unite.

you are kinda  saying.  God sure waisted his time authoring
the rest of the bible that tell us many other truth's  that are important to one's salvation. If they were not important for us to know for our salvation God would not have wrote all those extra thing's . He would have had you simply write the above your summary  .
Since that is all you think is important for ones salvation.

i can certainly now see by your example why their must be division because I think every doctrine is important for ones salvation or God would not have authored so much more than you tell.

division is grand is it not ! Imagine if i was in your church
I think you would be grabbing me by the throat by now.

Gods blessing's

Prime example of what I had previously written about, majoring on minor things, yet totally ignoring the most primary thing of the BIBLE: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and all your soul and all your strength and all your mind. Love your neighbour as yourself.

For ALL the law and the prophets hang on these two commandments. In other words, ALL the scripture hang on those two commandments.

So what do you think is primary here? Squabblings about denominations, or love? Denominations or Jesus? Nay I say, if we're going to squabble about something, let us conflict over the height and width and depth of the love of Christ! To which, I should imagine, we'd find no small resolution!  Grin

25  Theology / General Theology / Re:CAN ANYONE TELL ME ABOUT THIS GIFT? on: December 08, 2005, 02:03:43 PM
Some general things to know about the gifts of the Spirit.

ALL of the nine gifts, when they are in operation either singly or in multiple, will exalt the name of Jesus. I say in multiple because the gift of tongues needs the gift interpretation for edification.

Notice the gift you are inquiring about - it is the gift of the WORD of knowledge. Is it NOT the gift OF knowledge!!!!!

Kenneth Hagin provides the best definition of this gift that I know of to-date:

the supernatural revelation by the Holy Ghost of certain facts in the mind of God.

So, a word of knowledge is a piece of the entire knowledge of God, that He wants us to know at a given point in time.

Note that this knowledge is supernatural and NOT natural. So it is NOT knowledge gained by a person intellectually, and consequentially NOT biblical knowledge gained by study of the Word of God!!!

It is also not knowledge given or received bbecause of a closer walk with God!! That will surprise some, but I believe an example of the word of knowledge is the donkey saving Balaam from having his head removed. Did not Balaam gain that word of knowledge supernaturally? Of course he did. And it came from a donkey!!!

A New Testament example would be when the Lord told Ananias to go to Paul at a certain place and a certain street, and what to do when he got there. Now there's no way Ananias knew who was where and all that. That knowledge had to be revealed to him.

Another example is the tragedy of Ananias and Sapphira.

So I would conclude that the gift of the word of knowledge, and in fact all the gifts of the Spirit, occur as the Spirit wills it, not as we will it. In other words, the gifts do not operate as we will them to. We can't turn them on or off any time we want to. No, they will happen if and when the Spirit says they happen!!

One last thing to take note of: the gifts operate in various ways and methods. It can be a strong inward in a person's heart. It can come from an angel. I can come from a vision, dream, etc. The point being that the gift occurs as God wills and, and HOW God wills it. If you're looking to be used of God in this area, DO NOT TRY AND FORCE IT!!!! In fact, you CAN'T force it. If one says they are operating in this gift, and it has been forced, then it isn't this gift at all! It is a fraud.

26  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re:Abortion is criminal! on: December 07, 2005, 03:48:42 PM
Interesting. I got my mitts on a book that deals with teenagers, and how the devil uses deception to get them into all the garbage that is out there.

One chapter deals strictly with abortion. I graphically illustrates in words the steps the doctor goes through to perform the 3 types of abortion, (apparently there's a 4th called partial abortion which is even more barbaric). When my daughter read this chapter she was in tears.

My wife got mad at me, but I don't care. The devil likes to hide in darkness, so I'll shed as much light as I can on his trash. And I'm fairly certain that if my daughter makes the "big mistake", she will not have the baby murdered, and compound her sins.

I'm sure many of you don't know the procedures a doctor will do to murder a baby. You should educate yourself. I'm convinced it's the very reason that Christianity hasn't come to the rescue of 40+ million innocent ones in North America, and provided an alternative for the women who feel they are in a desparate situation.

27  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re:when is enough enough? on: November 13, 2005, 06:02:45 AM
Yeah, this kinda nonsense has got to stop. Get him outta there NOW! And I mean the pastor, who really isn't a pastor. Cuz if he was a pastor, he'd toss his son out into the street.

I even told my teenage children that exact same thing. I said, "If you think you're old enough to commit fornication, then you can go live your life as you please. But not under my roof!"

28  Entertainment / Books / Re:To Read or not to read? (yes, it's a lame title. ^^;) on: November 06, 2005, 12:13:57 PM
Well it's always great to have an alternative view, eh?

I was a big fan of the science fiction/fantasy genre. I read Robert Jordan, Terry Goodkind, Stephen Donaldson, etc.

It took the Lord a few years, but I finally got the point and threw all those books in the garbage. You see, Science Fiction generally challenges the existence of a god. Fantasy, on the other hand will permit numerous gods.

Of course, the REAL danger with fiction is it is going into your head, and from your head it can get down into your spirit. And if it gets down into your spirit, eventually it will come out of your mouth which is activating your faith. For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

So, at what I believe to be the prompting of the Spirit of God, I chucked all those books out. And I'm real glad I did because it set my path to read, watch, and/or listen to God's Word. And I've grown much stronger because of it, which for me is absolutely critical.

I prefer to set my sights on the Lord, AND KEEP THEM THERE!!!   There's way too many distractions in the Western world, and these distractions nowadays are very, very, very, very bad. F ew short decades ago they weren't so bad but there can be no denying that Satan has step things up considerably.

Therefore, my recommendation would be to put the King and Koontz down, and stay strictly with true Christian authorship.

29  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re:What do YOU look for in a church? on: November 01, 2005, 01:58:31 PM
Not in any specific order:

Freedom of worship

Preaching the Word
