Step up to the plate guys…

Do you play softball/baseball with your church?

If so, does anyone come out to cheer on the team?

Do you have any faith building or funny stories to share? Grin

So would it be safe to say that you sing back up...  ;Dthat is back up support from the comfort of the congregational church pews?  Singing so lo... oops... that is so low that no one can hear you? Wink

#10  You’re running out of clean clothes and the choir robes save on laundry.

LOL! Won't work for me, our church is to small to even have choir robes!  Tongue

Sincere Heart,

Maybe a generous soul will donate the funds necessary to purchase new robes…lol!  Do you need a tax write off?  Does ANYONE need a tax write off?   Wink

64  Welcome / About You! / Re:Hello Everyone on: March 24, 2004, 10:24:18 AM
A big welcome from ohio!!

The whole moving bit can be rather draining... I pray that the Lord will help your family find a church in the area in which you moved.

Looking forward to faith building discussions.

Your Brother in Christ Jesus,

Tony

One may plant, another may water; but the Lord makes the crops grow.

They were rather poetic…  Making me look forward to Spring, not just the date, but rather the actual weather…lol…  seems rather distant with the snow flakes still flying yesterday…lol… Wink

"80"?  I am looking forward to those days!!!  But, in the meantime, you enjoy it for me...lol... Grin

PSA 84:11  "For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly."

Indeed, the Sun is out today, (ECC 11:7 )"Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun".
71  Theology / Debate / Re:I am new... But I have a question... on: March 17, 2004, 11:51:30 AM
The cute little sitcoms Bewitched, I Dream of jeanny were an introduction to how nice the occult world could be... an angel of light?

The words of satan in the garden were subbtle.

How true that is, Reba.  Satan is not blunt in all of his tactics... if he were it would be difficult to persuade Christians to stray...

Your Brother in Christ,

72  Prayer / Prayer Requests / Re:Career Decision on: March 17, 2004, 11:46:19 AM
I have a prayer request.   My current job appears to be on the verge of being eliminated at the company I work for.   I have been offered another position, but I am somewhat uncertain about it.  I would like to ask for prayer, that God would give me dicernment about what He wants me to do.   Its one of those deals where I have to let them know something right away, so I am inclined to go ahead and interview for it while I decide.   I am prayerfully asking that God will either open or close doors for me during this process, so that I will be in His will, and not just choosing out of circumstances.

Thanks!

Grace and Peace!

God has this unique way of opening and closing doors.  No doubt with your faith He will have His way.  I will pray…

Don't know much about cooking... although I like hiking/camping... I just take things that don't need cooking... makes life... sooooo much easier...  fruits, veggies, granola bars, nuts, pop-tarts, pretzels... well, you get the idea...  Home cooked meals are best enjoyed when Mother cooks them...lol... lumber yard and work for God

While works do not save us... God does expect us to do Works for Him!!! Cool

TIT 3:14  "And let our's also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful."

HEB 10:24  "And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works"

JAM 2:17  "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone".

Your Brother in Christ,

Tony
75  Theology / Debate / Re:I am new... But I have a question... on: March 17, 2004, 11:08:56 AM

I agree with the whole of you...  I guess I was just surprised when I saw a group of so-called Christians partake in a pagan ritual of fear-cleansing on the Mad Mad House, which is a world of it's own I tell you...  It really spurred me to ask some fellow christians what they thought I guess...  Is this crazy of me to think about?  Is it wrong to see this stuff?  I guess it hit me especially hard b/c it is a reality show, and these people are actually doing these things...  Not just acting them out...  You know?
Just because people call themselves "Christians" does NOT in and of itself mean anything.  Being a Christian supercedes a verbal claim.  Indeed, being a Christian is a matter of faith, and a way of life.  To be Christian is to be Christ like.  If Christ wouldn't do it... I don't want to do it!! Smiley

A few scriptures/thoughts worth considering Cool
JOB 24:15  “The eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see me: and disguiseth his face." Often, many things are done behind closed doors.  If it isn't a program/movie/or show that you would invite the entire church congregation over to watch… it may not be worth your time to view it.

PSA 101:3 “I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me."

Prov.3:7 "...fear the LORD, and depart from evil."

PROV. 27:20 “Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied."

In the words of Jesus, (MATH 5:29) “And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell."  Rather than take this literally, let us "pluck.. out" those things from our life that we ought not be looking upon, and turn our heads away from things God would not have us look upon.

Hope these scriptures were helpful in regards to your question.

Your Brother in Christ,

Tony
